Lord Shyguy vs Black Yoshi 99

(What? Crap. I thought I posted here.)

Okay, Quarter, use Slash, Pay Day, and finally, Night Claw.

Slash~Pay Day~Night Claw

Arena: Lake Laogai
As the name implies, it's a lake. A nice, shiny lake. The battle takes place on the shore, but any Water types can battle in the lake if needed. Off to the right is the entrance to Laogai's sercret underground chamber's for brainwashing. There is a 5% chance that a Dai Li agent will come out of this entrance and shoot stone hands at you, causing 7% damage. Ground and Rock types get a 5% bonus because of the rocky terrain around the lake.

Quarter grins as he’s released from his Pokéball, clearly pleased to be participating in a battle. The moment he lays eyes on his opponent, he rushes forwards, claws raised and ready to strike. Chaos stares wide-eyed at the meowth for only a second before he hits, slashing the treecko across his red stomach. Wincing, Chaos falls onto his knees, bracing himself with one hand while the other lays across his slash wounds; he’s growing uncomfortably weak.

And even worse, his eyes blur to such an extent that he can no longer see the meowth right in front of him. His mind slows, focusing on unimportant details such as the small pebbles on the ground; Chaos finds it impossible to remember what he was doing.

Still smirking, Quarter waves his paws in the air, summoning dozens of his namesake out of seemingly nowhere. The coins are quickly tossed at Chaos, smacking into him rather weakly but with a satisfying thunk sound each time. And Quarter seems pretty happy about just throwing money around.

Groaning in pain, Chaos gets to his feet. Soft green energy surrounds him, restoring his will to fight; he leers at Quarter as the green energy surrounds the cat as well. Small orbs of light float from one Pokémon to the other, and as each one lands on Chaos, he feels just a little bit healthier. Slowly the green light fades, leaving Quarter somewhat less pleased about the battle.

And to add salt to the wounds, he’s now completely stumped about his commands. Night claw? He knows no such move. He knows something called night slash, and he knows of an attack called crush claw – but he doesn’t know of any attack combining the two. He sits down and whips his tail back and forth, growing quite annoyed.

Chaos seems to share this annoyance, as for once, his confusion isn’t hindering him – his paralysis is. He stands completely still, staring at the meowth before him, unable to do a single thing. At least it’s less annoying than the confusion.

Quarter hisses at Chaos, glad to have some workable commands. He bares his claws one by one, a menacing grin slowly spreading across his face. The menace is so real that it begins to actually drip from the meowth’s claws; dark, acidic liquid leaking out like venom. Chaos braces himself as Quarter suddenly rushes forwards, lashing out with his powerful claws and slashing the treecko across his already wounded stomach. Chaos yelps in pain, falling to the ground quite weakly.

While Quarter steps away, sure that this battle is over, he feels himself being taken over by a strange force – something he recognizes from earlier as being quite unpleasant. Both Pokémon glow a bright green as Quarter’s health is sapped, flowing slowly towards the fallen treecko. As the energy reaches him, he calmly gets up off the ground – not exactly healed, but surely better than before.

Quarter mumbles a few choice words about cheating lizards before revealing his dangerously sharp claws again, taking a few steps forward and slashing Chaos across his exposed cheek. As before, Chaos falls to his knees, his stolen health completely used by now. But he isn’t finished; he glares with complete hatred up at Quarter, giving a clear warning of what’s to come, and jumps up into the cats’ chest with all his strength. Quarter gasps for air while Chaos continues to pummel him, kicking and punching and even biting. Despite his weak state, the treecko fights like he’d just been sent out into the battle. Quarter is lying on the ground with Chaos standing on his stomach, breathing quite heavily, when the attack is over. Now that he’s done, Chaos seems too weak to stand, and he falls onto the ground. Quarter gets up a bit shakily, brushing the dirt off him and hissing at the fallen Chaos.

Though he’s fully intent on causing the treecko harm, Chaos finds himself once again without a command. He stares hatefully at his opponent but doesn’t make a move, just waiting for something to come to him. He’s lucky, though, that the treecko finds himself in a similar state; he lays on the ground where he fell, tired and weak and unable to move an inch. He sighs inwardly; he had hoped the paralysis was gone, but it seems it was simply waiting.

Quarter huffs, both annoyed and pleased with his commands. A quick attack would do on its own – whatever. The meowth bares his claws as he gets down on all fours and kicks off, running forward at such a speed that he becomes invisible to the eye. He zigzags left and right before landing on Chaos with incredible force, his claws digging deep into the lizard’s unprotected skin and digging away. Chaos yells in pain for only a few seconds before his eyes close and he falls to the ground, but Quarter keeps clawing, unleashing his fury on the defenseless body. He only stops when the treecko is absorbed in a flash of red light, disappearing into his Pokéball and letting Quarter drop onto the earth where the treecko had lay beneath him. He rolls to his feet, glaring at the human who had withdrawn Chaos; he’ll just have to take his rage out on whatever is released next…

Despite the Treecko being out of the way, Quarter was still annoyed. He hissed irritably, and as if in reply, shiny coins suddenly erupted from the ground in front of him in a sparkling fountain. The cat snatched the coins as they fell to the ground and threw them as hard as he could at Pyrite, earning him a satisfying punk sound every time one hit. However, in his money-chucking frenzy, quite a few of the coins missed entirely and flew straight over Pyrite’s head. Black Yoshi 99 quickly ran over, picked up the loose change, and shoved it into his pockets with a shifty glance.

Meanwhile, Pyrite shook her fur out, dislodging a coin in her creamy mane as she did so. Although she didn’t like things getting thrown at her, she put on the most charming smile she could muster and sauntered up to her opponent, her luxurious mane blowing gently in the wind. “Money?” she mewed. “Really? My trainer will be so pleased.” She continued to let loose a stream of compliments, blinking her huge eyes and moving subtly to show off her soft fur. Quarter slowly began to relax and took note of her flawless appearance: she was quite beautiful, really. It would be a shame if her well-groomed coat was ruined by battle, and by his own paws, no less! But orders were orders, and in the end loyalty to his trainer won.

Quarter kicked off with his hind legs, quickly building up speed until he was just a blur. He extended his claws and jumped, intending to land on Pyrite and slash at the Eevee – only to smash into a translucent green shield that the Eevee had quickly thrown up. Quarter drew back with a soft hiss, rubbing his nose, and stole a glance at Pyrite. She had narrowed her eyes at him. “Now, that wasn’t so nice, was it?” She sighed. “I know you can act more like a gentleman.” Quarter cast his eyes downward with a sheepish grin. She was right – what was he thinking? He tried to move closer to Pyrite, apologizing profusely.

The Eevee clearly thought that an apology wouldn’t cut it. She stiffened the muscles in her tail, causing it to glow white as a film of steel-type energy seeped out and covered every hair. Then she pivoted on one forepaw, slamming the rock-hard appendage into Quarter’s head. The attack connected with a satisfying crack and the Meowth reeled back, stars spinning around in his head. Sure, he deserved that, but it was still pretty harsh. Quarter looked at Pyrite with a pleading expression, but that did nothing to soften her icy glare.

At this point, Quarter was quite distressed. His trainer’s commands only added to his troubles: attack his dear Pyrite? And that many times? His mental struggle continued for a bit longer before he decided to get on with his commands. A Scratch wasn’t that punishing, after all. With an apologetic look he extended his claws and cocked his arm back, bringing it down hard on – yet another pale verdant shield that Pyrite had raised in a split second. One or two silver sparks flew off the barrier as Quarter’s claws scored across the see-though wall, sputtering and dying out with sad little sptzzs. Pyrite narrowed her eyes and hissed softly at the Meowth, who recoiled. Gosh, why was she so unfriendly?

Once again, Quarter struggled with his orders. Fury Swipes would certainly hurt… But maybe a show of his power would impress her! After all, he was the male, the dominant one in the relationship. It was about time he asserted his manliness. He raised his paw above his head and brought it down, claws and all, on Pyrite’s shoulder – and he didn’t stop there. Quickly he used his other paw to scratch at the feline creature, and his right paw once more, and one last scratch for good measure. Pyrite ended up with four sets of claw marks on her side, ruining her coat terribly. She shrieked, half in anger and the other in accusation, making it clear to Quarter that that was certainly the wrong way to ‘assert his manliness.’ To pile on the guilt candy, Pyrite picked herself up and sprinted away from her opponent, so fast that she soon became a blur. Quarter took no notice of this, instead meticulously studying the ground with shame written all over his face. He looked up again as Pyrite slowed down, and to his surprise he saw not one but four Eevees, all looking at him with a coy smile.

Quarter had had enough of attacking by now. Why, Pyrite was so nice that she made clones of herself, just for him to admire! He sat back on his haunches and gazed dreamily at the four Eevees, all thoughts of using Pursuit chased from his mind. Pyrite let out a mew before turning around and digging into the ground, the flying dirt passing through and destroying two of her clones. Before Quarter could run over to her side, the Eevees had disappeared into the ground, and he was left to peer into the yawning mouth of the hole. Desperately he cupped his paws around his mouth and yelled, hoping that she could hear him. Not a second later, Pyrite erupted from the ground and slammed into Quarter’s belly, knocking the air out of him and leaving him on the ground, wheezing. Pyrite, along with her remaining clone, rushed over to the cat’s side with a feigned gasp of worry.

Before Quarter could even think of executing his commands, Pyrite and her remaining clone both crouched down and pushed off with powerful hind legs, moving so fast that her form became a brown-and-white blur. She closed the gap in between the two Pokemon in no more than a second, slamming into Quarter with a considerable amount of force. The cat reeled back from the impact, but managed to regain his balance before he toppled over. He gave one of the Pyrites a puzzled glance, wondering why she was attacking him with such an eager expression on her face. Maybe she thought he deserved it for that Fury Swipes earlier. Surely it would be a bad idea to attack her even more! Why, it might even ruin their entire relationship… Quarter shivered inwardly. The Eevee was quite the fickle creature, but that didn’t matter because she was so cute, right?

Then again, Quarter reminded himself, disappointing your trainer isn’t the best way to go, either. He sighed and, giving Pyrite an apologetic look, clapped his paws together and began to gather electricity between them. Upon seeing this, the Eevee’s eyes widened and she began to dig into the ground in hopes of escaping the attack, but she was too slow. Her opponent let go of the ball of electricity that was vibrating between his paws, allowing it to explode outwards in a circular motion. The last clone fizzled away instantly when the Sock Wave hit it, but Pyrite screeched as the electricity flooded through her, filling her body with an erratic, burning sensation.

As the last streamers of crackling yellow-white energy died away, Quarter hung his head miserably. Pyrite took advantage of this and began to furiously attack the soil, digging yet another burrow that slowly but surely led to her opponent. The Meowth was roughly pushed out of his mental lamenting as Pyrite exploded from the ground into his stomach. The impact left him lying on his back, winded and wheezing for breath. Not far from him, Pyrite had curled up in a pile of creamy fur, her breathing and heart rate slowing as she took a brief break from battling.

By now, Quarter was confused as well as frustrated. Why did she keep attacking him? Even for payback, her relentless assault seemed like a bit too much. His body was aching from her repeated attacks and he channeled his negativity into his claws, causing them to glow with a ghostly, flickering aura. He marched up to Pyrite’s resting form and drew his paw back, preparing to rake the razor-sharp tips across her side. However, the ghost energy surrounding his claws turned them into some sort of semi-solid substance that passed right through the Eevee. Pyrite felt no more than a funny, tingling sensation that was quickly dismissed. Even as the black energy around his claws faded, Quarter couldn’t help but feel a bit relieved. He didn’t hurt Pyrite – at least, he didn’t think he did – and he didn’t disobey his trainer; it was a win-win situation.
