Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Magnate Apocalypse

As for your next question, it's impossible for your character to tell how long it's been. He can't tell day from night because of the dust blocking the sun, and so he has no way of knowing when a day has passed.

Huh, ok. But, still, even if someone couldn't tell when the days end, they can still get a kind of feel for things. How many times have they slept, assuming the Daeva sleep?

Anyway, I'm not really asking how much time has passed, since, as you said, it's hard to tell. Just more how much have they experienced? Like, have they had a while to accept the new world, understand some of the Magnate's workings, and discover their powers? (Which could be several weeks or more.) Or have they just been immersed in the new world, not really knowing what's going on and barely realizing they have some sorts or new abilities, (or, for that matter, what they look like, there aren't probably many mirrors left) which could be anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

Well, in the interest of plot, I'd say that you've just been turned into a Daeva quite recently, and are still discovering things. This way, you can post a lot without getting absolutely bored with what you're doing. We still have to wait for Stormecho to get back before we can start getting into plot, and that's still about a week away.

Ok, thanks. It's just rather important how much we should know or have done before the story began.

The wind was tempting. Faelynn emerged from the rock-strewn den that she had claimed and lifted her head to feel the breeze. The air was foul, but that didn't stop her from wanting to fly. Life was... weird, now. She had changed. She was still the same person though. It should have troubled her, that she got used to her body so quickly... but it didn't. Still, her legs were clumsy now - powerful, and she doubted that anything she landed on would survive, but not good for anything beyond walking a few metres. Maybe that was why it had been so easy to adapt, because she had been forced to. She wouldn't have been able to move otherwise. Well, it was time to get moving. She felt sluggish now, but once she was in the air, she would feel better. Spreading her wings, she leaped into the air, lurching in an ungainly fashion twice before the wind swept beneath the wings and lifted her.

As Haerith sat on his little chunk of wreckage, wondering why he ever wanted to live if it meant a pointless existence, he began to realize he was depressing himself. He would keep humanity in his memories, despite the fact that it was forbidden. Just as he was about to go back into his shelter, a bag was stuffed over his head. He began thrashing wildly, trying to get his captors off him, but it was no use. After half a minute of struggle, a needle was shoved into his neck, and he felt himself going numb. Once he stopped moving he heard a voice say, "He put up quite a fight, but rats are always more dangerous in swarms." Then he felt himself being lifted off the ground and hurriedly carried somewhere. He tried to ask where he was being taken, but his mouth refused to move. Who were these mysterious captors? Where were they taking him, and for what purpose? Something was dangerously wrong. But little did he know that this was only the beginning of the kidnappings.

((The RP has begun to fall into obscurity, so I'm starting the plot sooner than I thought I would have to. Please try to stay as active as possible. For those of you who have not posted your first post yet, DO SO NOW! Or else, tell if you are no longer interested in being in the RP.))

Now nearing the shore, James began to slink slowly along the surface. He was relatively vulnerable in this form and out in the open so close to where others might be, so began looking around for a suitable body to posses.

Gazing around, James suddenly gasped. Movement was one of the rarest sights in this wasteland, and he was shocked at the commotion he saw now. Several blurry figures were sprinting along the rocks, and seemed to be holding a large object between them. He couldn't make out any details at such a distance, but still, something didn't feel right. What could be so important that they needed to hurry so much for? And James had never seen any Daeva interested in many material things. In any case, he was at least curious, and decided to follow them.

While he was nervous without a strong form, James began to speed towards the figures, making sure to keep an eye out for a useful body.

OOC: Hey look! thought James, That must be the plot!

Ruya sighed and pawed, or clawed, rather, at the stones and wreckage below her and glared up at the sky. So. She flicked her tail, which she still found odd, and counted the few pebbles she had picked up. There was so little to do.. something caught her eye, and she perked up. There, across the distance.. she squeezed the stones in her fist, and tossed them away. Movement meant life or wind, and life was food, and wind was caused by something...

Shaking the dust from her pelt, Ruya dropped to all fours and began to trot towards the.. whatever it was. She'd find out soon enough. As the few figures began to gain distance on her, Ruya broke into a run, sprinting raggedly towards them.

"Oh no. We got two Daeva on us! Run!" a voice said. Haerith was being rescued. But that's not what he wanted. He wanted to know why he was being kidnapped. He felt himself regaining movement, and just as he was about to try, the bag flew off his head, and had he not been paralyzed he would have gasped. Four humans were carrying him. Humanity was not dead. There was still hope. Out of the corner of his eye he saw one Daeva Lupus and one Daeva Umbrus coming towards him. No! "Don't kill them!" he wanted to shout, but his lips were still too numb. With the Daeva continuing to approach, he prayed something would stop them.

Just as the figures came into focus, James gasped. Four humans?! What- where did they come from? How did they survive?! Something small and brown flew up into the air above the humans, a bag?, drawing James' attention to their prize, which he identified as an alive, struggling Magnate Verminus.

Oh, God, thought James, If there are four here, then there are probably others as well! There might even be a whole group of them and- James jolted to a stop and they're not afraid of him. They probably think we're monsters. They want to get rid of us all! Maybe- no, they wouldn't listen to me. They'd think I was lying to get close to them or deceive them...

James watched the humans, carrying of the Magnate. He glanced at the fallen bag.

Unless...

Ruya skidded to a stop a good distance away from the humans, frozen in shock. Humans..? With a Daeva Verminus, though he was a bit less important in her eyes.. How were humans still.. alive? Existing? Ruya growled softly, rather confused, and started moving towards them again, though a good lot slower.

Not sure what to think, whether she should attack, ask them what they were doing, or turn and run, Ruya studied the humans a bit more closely, and shook her head. If she killed them, which she could easily, most likely, she might be able to gain favour with Bhethtan, though he might want them captured.. But if she let them go, or talked to them, they might.. help her? Accept her?

Ruya stood up on her hind legs suddenly, and paused. There was someone else there, a.. what? Not too far away was a Daeva Umbrus, though his shadowy form was hard to see from where she was. What was this? How.. Thoroughly confused, Ruya made a fist and looked on from where she stood.

Galeocerdo observed the shadowy form of a Deva Umbrus, from the saftey of the water's edge. He then watched as it moved away, and was tempted to follow it. However he hung back, waiting to see what it did, until his vision of it became murky. He then moved forawrd cautiously, in case this was some sort of trap. However, when he heard the shout of "Oh no. We got two Daeva on us! Run!", he decided to speed up.

Why would more than one Deva run from two Deva? Unless ... they aren't Deva!

He quickened his pace even more, and saw the shadowy Deva from before, as well as a Deva Lupus. What surprised him most, however, was the four humans running away, carrying a giant overgrown rat. He then skidded to a stop.

Wait. Four humans. They wouldn't risk all of their forces. That's means, that there must be more somewhere. If I could find them, Lohk would be very pleased. But, I don't know how many of them there will be. The Deva Lupus! If I work with it, I'm sure we could take on any number of forces.

HIs decision made, he sprinted over to the wolf-like Deva. "I have an idea, that could make you Bhethtan's favorite Deva, forever!"

((I thought you would get the message. If those humans die, so does the plot. DO NOT KILL THEM! And btw, some of you are spelling DAEVA wrong.))

There were three of them now. This was not good. He prayed that they would make it to wherever it was they were going.

Ruya twitched as.. something ran up from behind her.. Turning, she blinked as she saw it was a Daeva.. Anglus, was it? She gave him an odd look and coughed, her voice rather rusty from disuse.

"You don't have to say anything, there are humans running across this wasteland and you say you have a plan. What could that be? Do you really think Bhehtan would take the word of a low ranking Daeva, that there are four humans running to wherever with a Daeva Verminus? He'd probably say it's Draeth's problem. Dropping to all fours, she studied him? more carefully.

"Either way, we'd do well to see what's happening.. So we should go after them. Can you move quickly?" Without waiting for an answer, Ruya focused on the humans retreating in the distance and sighed. It seemed her half-life had already become something else, just by the appearance of these humans.. who were already disappearing from sight.

Nodding to the Daeva Anglus, Ruya shot forwards on all fours and chased after the humans.

Kai attempted to make a smooth, air to ground landing into the mouth of the cave, but once again only ended up crashing to the rocky floor, producing a sickening crack from his shoulder. Kai breathed a heavy sigh that was half pain, half disappointment. Begrudgingly, he gilded over to the far corner of the seaside cavern, which was where he stockpiled most of his food. Apparently, he was running low. The only thing edible was a few scraps of burned meat, a gruesome memento of his last victims. The meat was bitter and acrid, but Kai couldn't afford to be picky. After finishing, Kai began to drift off. However, he was quickly snapped awake by the sounds of multiple beings, apparently moving rather quickly across the land outside. Going against his gut feeling, kai headed to the mouth of the cave to investigate.

One of Haerith's toes twitched. He was beginning to feel the poison wear off. One of the humans noticed this, and looked down at him. Unfortunately, he made the mistake of looking into his evil eye. The human died instantly, going slack, then falling. Just before he hit the ground Haerith curled his toes up, grabbing the edge of the shirt. Then, with what little use of his eyelid he had, he closed his evil eye. The other human in the back, feeling Haerith get a lot heavier saw the dead human, and shifted to compensate for the extra weight. Then he noticed something he had not the first time looking at the humans. One of them was a teenage girl. At first she appeared a boy because her hair was roughly cut short, and her clothes were loose and looked like patchwork. The only thing that gave it away was when she grunted from carrying him so far, her voice was much too high to be a boy's voice. He then turned his attention to the approaching Daeva. They had stopped momentarily, but were now pursuing again. Then he heard a hissing sound, and looked towards the origin. Cleverly hidden among the rubble, there was a small metal door, probably air tight by the sound of it. The humans ducked into it, though Haerith supposed that to onlookers it would seem like they disappeared into the ground. Once they were all safely inside, the door closed with another hissing sound. He was then set down, and the other three humans ran to the dead one. He heard the girl say, "Dead," then the other two sighed. "He should've listened," one of the men said. While they carried the body into another room, Haerith looked around. It was a small room made completely of stainless steel walls, and black rubber floors. It was lit with a couple of bare light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Though there was not much light, Haerith saw that the next room was simply a long hallway. He sighed, and waited for the humans to return.

Upon looking out, Kai noticed a rather strange sight. Four humans were apparently carrying of a Magnate Verminus. They were being pursued by three Daeva: a magnate lupus, a shadowy creature which was most likely an Umbrus, and some sort of humanoid shark which Kai identified as an Anglus. Considering that he had no orders, and was really quite bored, Kai decided to glide down and join in the chase.

Galeocerdo followed the wolf, tryng his hardest to keep up, but the land was her specialty. Until the humans and Daeva suddenly disappeared that is.

"Did you see that? Where did they go?" He asked his temporary ally.

They couldn't just disappear surely. Unless they where actuaslly some sort of daeva... but I doubt that.
