• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Mass Crossover Planning Thread

As you know, I'm not the most active roleplayer (hoping to subvert that this time with the power of the Pokèmon protagonists), so what did Taboo do? Or rather their/its powers.

This sounds interesting. I'd love to be involved in this working out, though how active I can be may be limited.

On the idea of Tabuu coming back, let's say these two OCs (Good and Bad) or one of them (probably Bad) somehow accidentally, or "accidentally", bring back Tabuu. I'm not sure on how, but it would have to do with re-opening Subspace in some manner, seeing as Tabuu is bound to that realm.

Though the isles, the place where the subspace opening bombs were made blew up, it was never specified that all the subspace bombs were gone. All one would need is to find a bomb and set it off. An easy task for one such as Bad OC.

Oh so were almost there! Woop! :'D

I like that idea, and I'll try and work it in. I never really played Subspace Emissary myself, so I'd appreciate learning about any elements that would be a good fit. Affter bad OC finds a bomb, he/she could set it off and thus push everything into motion. That opens up the Subspace again, which means that Tabuu can return, but where do we go with it? Either one of them establishes dominance over the other, or there's a power struggle.

I will try and chip away at making this happen, but big personal issue popped up, so I will not have any real time until next week.

The way I see it, Tabuu could be set up to be the villain, but in reality he's a figurehead for the OC, the obvious target for our heroes. Heck, the OC could hide himself among the heroes, given that Tabuu would be the obvious target.

They'd have to be very ambiguous. But ehh, if it's believeable I'll buy it (Unless everyone who's good is dumb)

So now we just wait? :'o

Well, if someone wants to go undercover, then that's okay by me. I'll try and work that into the form. Also, there should probably be a cap on how many sleeper agents there are, because we don't want the entire party to evaporate.

One last thing, the good OC. I'm thinking he is a regular guy from our world who is somehow vital to it all (of course). He may have some powers or tricks based on whatever he was into in the real world, but nothing particularly fancy.

That would be a potentially fun angle. I will think about it. I am settled into spring break now, so I will get a draft of the intro post together this week. Keep on thinking, folks, its never too late to contribute.

Perhaps not a video game designer, unless whatever villains that are infiltrating the heroes aren't from games. (And even then, it might be a stretch to not have the good OC realize the deception.)

I've decided not to make him a video game designer just to keep my options and those of the other participants open.

Here's a draft of the intro post:

With Tabuu defeated by the Smashers in the World of Trophies, the plane of Subspace was, in theory, erased, it's void unable to threaten the world ever again.

However, on another plane, an unimaginably large explosion devastates a large area. In the aftermath, a stormy purple void is left. Nobody is entirely sure what is inside of it. Anyone who has entered has yet to return. Except for one. A wandering planeswalker, one of the few being who can cross the void between worlds, Velian Kolar, managed to exit the field, identifying it as Subspace. More importantly, he emerged with someone else: the good OC, a man from a strange, unknown plane, known poetically as 'Reality'. Soon after, the pair vanished.

Velian Kolar brought the good OC to an abandoned plane, small and barren, but for those reasons relatively safe from whomever detonated the bomb. Explaining what Kolar had learned from visiting the Smashers, he then gave the good OC a quest: Hopefully, heroes from across the multiverse would arrive here soon. With their help, whomever was behind this could be put in their place.

"Well why don't you do it?", the good OC protested.

"I'll be several steps ahead of your band," Kolar explained, "investigating on my own. I will try and let you know what is going on periodically."

With that, the planeswalker vanished, leaving the good OC in a small waste, with only a few basic tools and an arcane-looking device.

Meanwhile, whoever set off the Subspace Bomb is out there, recording the results, scheming, and figuring out a way to construct more to fill some sinister end.

Obviously, replacing all instances of the good OC with whatever character I come up with to be our man from reality. The character I linked to is from Coloursfall's Magic the Gathering RP (that never started). I took a bit of inspiration of MtG's Weatherlight saga, with an enigmatic planeswalker putting together a team to fight some unfathomable force to hopefully explain things a bit.

Before I explain the plans on my side more, I would like to know, is anyone up for playing the lead antagonist?
