Arena: Enormous Christmas Pudding
As the name suggests, this field is an enormously large Christmas pudding, at least two Wailords in diameter, sitting in a bowl with custard. A Pokémon can be commanded to take up an action to eat some of the pudding, restoring 10% health and 5% energy; however, due to the arena being very filling, this can only be carried out three times per Pokémon. At the beginning of the battle, the pudding and custard are extremely hot, so any Pokémon in contact with either of them receive 2% damage per round (increased to 4% for Ice types, reduced to 0% for Fire types) until round three, when it will be cool enough to eat. Any Pokémon attempting to eat the arena until then will suffer 3% damage, a 30% chance of a burn and the inability to use sound- or biting-based moves for a round due to a burnt tongue. Additionally, the pudding is soaked with some variety of liquor, meaning that any Pokémon eating it has a 25% chance to become drunk confused, and all Fire-type moves have a 10% chance to set the whole thing alight, dealing 3% Fire damage per round to any Pokémon who doesn't escape into the custard moat until it dies down. Finally, numerous coins are buried in the pudding for lucky and unsuspecting diners to find, and any Pokémon using Dig or any move that upturns the pudding (including eating it) has a 10% chance of gaining $1.

BlazieAura and Sovie attack.
I ref and try not to die.

Edit: I read over the arena description again, and there don't seem to be any banned moves. Mike, is it supposed to be like that or did you just forget?

Er, I just forgot actually. There was nothing I wanted to ban anyway, just OHKOs. Feel free to disallow anything you think shouldn't work on the arena, though.

(eeee you actually took this on Christmas Day ilu)

Couldn't get on in time 'cuz of school, but...

Sovie is DQ'd. The battle can now continue as a 3 vs. 3 vs. 3, or you can choose to cancel the battle. No prizes will be awarded. If the battle is cancelled, Mike has the option of remaking this battle, and I will take it once the four participants have been gathered.

I'm all for continuing it as a 3 vs 3 vs 3. No point making a Christmas challenge in January after all.

Alright, then. Lord Shyguy, send out your Pokemon. After that, Mike shall send out his, BlazieAura shall attack, Lord Shyguy shall attack, and finally, Mike shall attack.

Okay...let's pretend I know what I'm doing. Rue, first you should try to poison Hindenburg with Toxic. If Hindenburg uses Protect/Detect, then use Toxic on Terra. From then on, if Hindenburg isn't poisoned, keep using Toxic on him. When he is poisoned, use Toxic on Terra. If you have an action left, use Seed Bomb on Terra. If at any point you are attacked with a special attack use Protect.

ARRGH STUPID BUDEW
Let's see... If at any time Rue tries to use Toxic on you, use Detect. Use Fire Punch on Rue, and then Shadow Ball on Hidenburg. If Hindenburg Protects/Dectects, then use Fire Punch on Rue again. Finish off with a Double Team.

Detect/Fire Punch~Detect/Shadow Ball/Fire Punch~Double Team

Well Hindenburg, you're the fastest, so set up a Double Team for as many clones as you can manage to try to avoid those Toxics. Protect to coax Terra into hitting Rue twice, then hit Terra with an Ominous Wind to wipe out those pesky clones. If you get poisoned, swap Ominous Wind for Facade and aim it at Rue.

Somewhere beyond the borders of Asber is a strange, fantastical plain dotted here and there with huge food items: bowls of ramen, offal soup, a chocolate bar, even a block of flavour-changing jello. None of these are as festive as a gigantic portion of Christmas pudding swimming in a moat of custard. It was here that four trainers and one referee decided to hold a battle on Christmas day, but owing to some mysterious temporal force and the sudden disappearance of one of the trainers, the battle didn’t start until several weeks after the big day.

Now finally free to start the battle, BlazieAura plucked a Pokeball from her belt and threw it into the center of the pudding. A burst of red light surged forth, writhing and condensing until it formed into the shape of a small Budew. The grass-type Pokemon squealed delightedly and began to sniff vigorously at the pudding in front of her, obviously not minding the fact that her feet were fast burning up.

Lord Shyguy watched the spectacle while biting his lip nervously, finally deciding on sending out his Sableye, Terra. Unlike Rue, the diamond-eyed ghost definitely felt the heat, as she began to dance about comically, hissing all the while, as soon as she materialized on the pudding.

Finally, it was Mike the Foxhog’s turn. His Pokeball revealed another Ghost-type Pokemon: a purple balloon-like creature with two thin, black appendages on its underside. Hindenburg the Drifloon puffed himself up briefly before turning his attention on the battle, only registering the heat rising from the pudding somewhat.

As soon as all three sets of commands were yelled out, Hindenburg took off, using jet propulsion as a means to speed around the perimeter of the pudding. Normally one wouldn’t expect a purple balloon to go very fast, but the Drifloon kept going faster, and faster still, until his profile blurred and became indistinct. When Hindenburg slowed down, Terra took a step back: there were now six floating balloons instead of one.

Rue looked up curiously and nearly snorted some pudding up her nose in her shock.

The Budew staggered to her stubby little feet and stared at the six Drifloon. They stared back. This went on for a while, until Rue shrugged and began to divert some of her blood into her mouth. The metallic-tasting substance was toxic in nature, as poison ran through her veins, so she had little trouble preparing her attack. The problem was choosing which Drifloon to target. In the end, she spat the noxious potion in her mouth at the second Pokemon, but it vanished upon contact; it was nothing but an illusion. The Toxic sailed on, carving a graceful arc through the air before spattering unceremoniously on the pudding.

Meanwhile, Terra had clenched her hand into a fist. She raised the temperature around her hand until it was so blistering that the heat distorted the air around it. Rue felt the heat tickle her back before Terra’s fist slammed into her. The Budew cried out in pain as intense pain blossomed from the spot of impact along with a feeling uncomfortably akin to being set on fire. Fortunately, it didn’t last long, but Rue was left teary-eyed nonetheless.

As Rue picked herself up from the pudding, Hindenburg took a small portion of his energy and shaped it into a dome around him, a pale, translucent green barrier shielding him from all harm. Rue narrowed her eyes, catching the telltale sparkle of the Protect around the five remaining Drifloons. That wouldn’t do. She turned her attention to Terra and once again began to cough blood into her mouth.

Hearing the uncomfortable gurgling sounds from the Budew’s throat, Terra panicked. She briefly closed her eyes in concentration, preparing herself for a short period of uncanny alertness that would (hopefully) save her from the impending doom. When she opened her eyes, the world was easily three time clearer, and she could sense what Rue was going to do: how she would lean forward, where she would aim, where the Toxic would land. Even as the viscous glob of sludge left the small plant-like Pokemon’s mouth, Terra dashed to the side so quickly that the purple goop missed by a long shot. Rue pouted miserably. What a way to start the battle.

Soon enough, Hindenburg grew weary of holding the Protect up, especially when no-one was aiming for him, anyway. Closing his eyes solemnly, he called upon the angry souls haunting the pudding and its surrounding area, ordering them to attack Terra. Briefly he wondered where these “clones” of Terra his trainer spoke of were, but he quickly shrugged it off. Terra hissed in shock and pain as a howling, purplish wind tore at her body, the air strangely substantial, as if tiny beings really were clawing and biting at her in a frenzy. A wordless yowl of rage and anguish filled her ears. Terra clutched at her head, willing the voices to stop – and they did, but only after several moments. The Sableye staggered slightly, awed and intimidated by the eerie attack.

Terra shook off the lingering sensation and began to sprint around the perimeter of the pudding, wincing as the dessert scalded her feet with every step. Much like Hindenburg, Terra’s form began to blur, turning into a streak of purple punctuated by two white-blue sparkles. Unlike the floating ghost-Pokemon, though, the Sableye was hindered by the arena’s heat, and fell one clone short of what she could have done normally. And even more unfortunately was the fact that the burning pudding put a strain on her concentration – one of the four Sableye wavered uncertainly before slowly fading away. Nevertheless, the pudding was looking rather crowded: in addition to the four humans, six Drifloon, three Sableye, and one Budew populated its surface.

The single Budew had a furious scowl written all over her face. It wasn’t enough that her first two attacks both missed horribly, oh, no – her trainer had to add to the pile and give her commands an Alakazam couldn’t even decipher! Rue sat down, cringing as uncomfortable heat seeped into her behind, and tried her hardest to latch onto a single technique; in the end, she decided on coughing some seeds into her mouth and forming them into a dense ball with her tongue. Then she trotted over to one of the Sableye and spat the Seed Bomb. Once again, it proved to be only a clone. The seeds sailed on and hit the pudding a foot or so away, bursting into life as soon as it touched the surface.

Terrain notes
There are two patches of sickly purplish pudding where the two Toxics struck. Eating the pudding there will result in mild poisoning on top of other effects. Not too far away from the two Sableye, there is a small, dense patch of small plants.

Final notes
Lord Shyguy attacks first next round, followed by Mike the Foxhog, and finally, BlazieAura.
Hindenburg produced 5 clones. Rue’s first Toxic destroyed one.
Rue’s second Toxic missed due to Detect.
You told Hindenburg to use Ominous Wind to wipe out Terra’s clones, Mike, but you didn’t tell him explicitly to wait. So. :| It took me a bit to decide, but this is how it should be, methinks.
Terra produced 3 clones as opposed to 4 because the burning pudding hindered her speed. Also, the pain from the hot pudding puts a strain on her concentration, so until it cools down, she’ll lose one clone each round on a random action. This also goes for Rue.
Rue was confused by her commands on the 3rd action, and as decreed by the RNG gods, she decided on Seed Bomb. Which missed.
Also: Lord Shyguy and BlazieAura, please put your commands in the format Mike did.

Start with a Shadow Sneak at Hindenburg to get some damage in. Fire Punch Rue again, unless she Protects/Detects; in that case, use Ominous Wind at Hindenburg. If he Protects/Detects, use Chill. Finish up with a Will-o-Wisp at Hindenburg; if he Protects/Detects, use Confuse Ray at Rue. If at any time Rue or Hindenburg tries to use a status-inflicting move, use Detect.

Shadow Sneak @ Hindenburg/Detect~Fire Punch @ Rue/Ominous Wind @ Hindenburg/Chill/Detect~Will-o-Wisp @ Hindenburg/Confuse Ray @ Rue/Detect

Okay. Let's pretend that never happened, shall we Rue? First do a Rain Dance to lessen the damage from those pesky Fire Punches, but if Hindenburg uses a status-inducing move on you (and you only), go ahead and blast him with a Shadow Ball. Then use Protect so Terra will attack Hindenburg again. Finally, make a 10% Substitute.

Rain Dance/Shadow Ball~Protect~Substitute (10%)

Hey, you wait your turn, BlazieAura. *points to Final Notes* But thanks to the insight into your strategy >:3

Start off making a medium Subsitute in case Terra gets round to using those status moves on you. Then if it's raining, use Thunder on Terra, or Shadow Ball against Terra if it's not.

Substitute (15%) ~ Thunder @Terra / Shadow Ball @Terra ~ Thunder @Terra / Shadow Ball @Terra

Aah aah I could have sworn I was second. Blazhy can go ahead and ref if she wants, since it's my fault. ^^; But if you'd rather I re-command, that works too.

Mike and I have talked it over, and we'll keep the commands as they are. However, to make up for it, Mike will attack first for the next two rounds.
