Knight of Void
My Pokémon Team for Frontier

OK, this is the team I used against the elite four. Still trying to get the National Dex. Also, I'm thinking on transferring Pokémon from my Diamond. Should I? If yes, then I will post them here. Anyway, here is my team. Please rate/critique please.(Also, not much of a competitive battler, so if I have made mistakes, please forgive me.)

Why not just go to the move relearner in Pastoria City?

Re: My Pokémon Team for Frontier

All the Pokemon you've suggested sound pretty good.

That being said, though, why not evolve Scyther?

Re: My Pokémon Team for Frontier

Well, Scyther has more speed, and to be honest, I'm not a big fan of Scizor.

Re: My Pokémon Team for Frontier

I don't have much to contribute, but:

Infernape(M)
@Fist Plate
Hardy Nature|Blaze
Close Combat (Planning on switching to Focus Blast)
Mach Punch
Flare Blitz
Flame Wheel

Keep Close Combat. It's much more reliable, given the accuracy of Focus Blast, and if you play your cards right your opponent won't be able to take advantage of the defense and special defense drop. Also, why not replace Mach Punch with Swords Dance, or something? I can't think of many situations where you'll need to use Mach Punch, since Infernape's pretty fast to start with, and this is the Frontier you're talking about, right? It should be easy to pull off the Swords Dance, and after that, you're set up for a good sweeping.

Thanks Blazheiro, you are the first person to give me any helpful advice. Anyway, if I can find a way to teach him Swords Dance, I will. But Thunderpunch is better, especially against Gyrados.

Re: My Pokémon Team for Frontier

I think it bears mentioning that none of your natures are particularly good. Weavile's, for instance, lowers his best stat (Speed) and raises his worst (Special Attack). If you're new, you should look at the stats of the Pokemon you plan on raising and find a nature that would benefit them based on what you want to use them for. :]

Note that getting good natures and whatnot is really hard to do with the team you play through the story with. It can be done, but it usually takes forever. I personally hold off on EV-training until after I've beaten the E4.

Ya, I know. So I gave him Vitamins to counter that, but I was unsure if it made much of a difference. From what I can remember, I think I got him like, 3-5 Carbos.

Re: My Pokémon Team for Frontier

Well, if you decide to get Thunderpunch, I don't really see what Stone Edge is there for. I briefly ran through Infernape's weaknesses and you've got all of them except for Ground, as far as I can see. Sure, Stone Edge has more raw power, but its accuracy isn't as reliable. Then again, it helps by taking down those pesky Dragon-Flying Pokemon, as well as Gyarados, so you might want to drop Thunderpunch and take Stone Edge and Swords Dance.
Swords Dance is a TM, by the way. TM 75; you can get it in the Veilstone Game Corner for 4000 coins.

And I might as well take a look at another Pokemon while I'm at it:
Leafeon(M)
Quirky Nature|Leaf Guard
@Big Root
Grasswhistle
Giga Drain
Razor Leaf
Magical Leaf
(I know, horrible moves, but I accidentally overwrite some moves when I was not paying attention).

First off, I don't know why your only physical move here is Razor Leaf, when there's Leaf Blade. Leafeon has a good Attack stat, so you should use it. X-Scissor, Aerial Ace, and Return could work as well.
If you wanna play more strategically, though, Leafeon excels as a Swords-Dance Baton Passer (which admittedly, I don't think you're going to use alllll that much in the Frontier, but it's worth mentioning).

Well, also keep in mind that they are all about lvl 60. But ya. Thanks for the advice. I'll try to make the changes as best as I can.

Re: My Pokémon Team for Frontier

I'll give oyu some advice!

---------------------------------------
Spr_4d_142.png
(M)
@Shell Bell|Pressure
Naughty Nature
Iron Head
Crunch
Fly
Rock Slide

First of all, the nature sucks, but nevermind that. Replace iron head with earthquake if you can, and rock slide with stone edge, expect if you are using them in 2vs2's, in which case you should use rock slide. Fly sucks balls, since you need to wait for a turn to activate it, can be hit while in the air, easily blocked with protect and enemeis can rise their stats while you fly or change to a better pokemon. Replace it with either ice/fire(preferably ice) or with aerial ace.

Quirky Nature|Swarm
Night Slash
Slash
X-Scissor
Air Slash

If im not mistaken, air slash is a special move, and that's bad bad bad bad bad bad ass. Use aerial ace instead, and eplace slash with sword dance. Then give him a sharp claw(for higher critical hits).
---------

No advice about the rest, quite nice moves.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I'll input the changes when possible.
