Wasn't the last one kinda done with the whole DS-to-Wii thing though...?
 
Yeah, connectivity has been in all Nintendo consoles since the Gamecube.

And Stadium could read Pokémon games, so the N64 had I way too.

...I think. *was a toddler/extremely young child during N64 era and didn't own a Nintendo console until the Wii*
 
Yeah, the only major Nintendo console I can think of that didn't allow connecting other consoles to it is the NES, and there wasn't much you could connect to it in the first place.
