Apple decided to give the Trapinch a chance, so she righted him onto his feet and stepped back, ready to take the next attack.

Skya hopped towards Sephii, who happened to be nearby. "Is it time for training yet?" she asked eagerly.

Kochi just smirked. "Well, when you come up with anything, just ask me." He began to chow down on his final order, several sushi rolls. He wasn't quite done when Silvera finished, but it didn't take long after that. "All right, come with me then." He thanked the restaurant owner again and headed back outside.

Before Apple could even reach Dralon, however, his trap activated, and the ground under her feet began to crumble and collapse. Dralon watched this, and seemed to easily return to his feet afterward, as if he was feinting being immobile.

Bonsai let out a soft sigh. "Sephii, you have still not answered my question."

Then Blade emerged from the forest, and walked towards his father. He then extended his claw, to show Bonsai the Dragon Scale. "Here father. If anyone will find a use for this, it will be you. Now come Skya, we have training to do." Blade walked off back into the forest, after dropping the scale onto the ground.

Silvera nodded and followed Kochi outside. "Why are we going job hunting, Kochi-sensei?"

Skya followed Blade excitedly, trying hard (and succeeding) to keep up with him. "Can we train so that I'm faster?" she asked.

Kochi glanced back at Silvera as they exited, and spoke as he walked. "It's quite simple, really. It's not everyday that the village is attacked, so it's important that we have alternative means of making a living. A ninja's most important skill is often not their physical strength, but rather their problem-solving capability. We're required to be able to handle a variety of different tasks, depending on what's needed at the time." By the time he finished talking, they had reached a messageboard in the center of the village. There were notes posted by many different villagers requiring one time assistance. "Ah, here we go. See if there's anything there that tickles your fancy. We can also speak with Glacier to see if he could use our help with anything."

(btw, still waiting for Apple's reaction before I can post with Dralon. You do remember the underground "ring" Dralon had dug around her, right? That's what I was referring to as his "trap")

Apple fell into her student's trap, but started to prepare a Dig attack and created a tunnel under him quietly. Then she burst above the ground, aiming to fling him into the air, but not KO him.

Dralon giggled when he saw Apple falling. Wow, she fell for it! Now I can show her my special attack!
After righting himself, with an excited disposition, he leapt up into the air and came down with a thunderous thud, causing an earthquake just underneath him, spreading for about 10 feet around. It wasn't the most powerful one ever, but he hoped Apple wouldn't be able to avoid this one now.

"Oh," said Silvera, raising and then lowering her head. "That's fine. It's a good idea now that I think about it." The Buizel followed Kochi to the message board and read some of the slips of paper. "Hm..." She couldn't really decide until she thought of it. Silvera pointed to one of the notices that had something to do with fetching an item someone dropped in the marshy woods. "There," she said. "I want to do that."

Kochi nodded and looked at the note. "Hmm... it's awfully close to the border with the Forest clan." He grinned. "Are you ready for that?" He then looked at the bottom too see who had posted it. "Well, first thing we have to do is take the notice back to its author, to find out more about the job." (Do you want to deal with that NPC then, Cryptica?)

Apple was shaken by the small earthquake. She was shivering when she came above ground and attempted to hit Dralon with her claws to finish her Dig attack.

"Well, as long as we don't cross the border it's fine," said Silvera. I think, she added to herself. "Hm... it looks like a Pokemon named Gligar wrote it." Silvera looked at the note one more time and thought, Gligar. I think he should live somewhere around here....
The Buizel wandered a bit farther down the road. Within minutes she was at the door to Gligar's house. She knocked on the door, which then opened.
"Hello?" asked a purple Pokemon. It had two pointy ears, pincers, a stinging tail, and wings.
"I'm Silvera, a ninja-in-training," greeted Silvera. "Are you Gligar?"
"Of course."
"This is Kochi," said the Buizel. She pointed to the Vaporeon. "He's my sensei. We saw your job on the board and we would like to, er, do it." She handed the note to Gligar, who took it in his pincer and read it over.
"Hmm... thanks. As you have read here, the item is called the Razor Fang. It looks like a curved, sharp tooth."
Silvera nodded. "Is that okay, Kochi-sensei?"

Dralon suddenly stumbled backward as he was hit with the Sandslash's claws. He sat back, giving a bit of a whimper, and looked ahead at his new sensei. "Okay, I'm done..." He knew he couldn't actually win, but he had accomplished all he wanted to... prove to himself that even seasoned ninjas could fall for his games, literally. "When I get stronger, you won't get past that!" he announced.

Kochi smiled, giving Silvera a chance to handle this, though staying with her in order to give a sense of experience to the patron. "Don't worry, we'll be back before you know it. Let's go, Silvera, and make sure you bring the note." The pudgy lavender Vaporeon began to walk away, toward the edge of the village.

"It's okay," Apple soothed. "You did great." She was breathing heavily. "You almost beat me there."
She picked up the apple and gave it to her student. "Here. Have a snack."

Silvera nodded to Gligar, and turned to Kochi. "Let's go, Kochi-sensei. See you in a bit, Gligar!"
The Ground/Flying-type waved and shut the door behind him as he glided back into his house.
Silvera grasped the note tightly and walked behind Kochi until she reached the village gate. The Buizel turned her head and looked back, waiting for her sensei to catch up.

Dralon smiled, picking up the apple in his big maw and crunching it quickly into small pieces. "Thanks," he replied upon swallowing the apple. After another minute or two, he stood back up. "Okay, I'm ready to go... what are we looking for again?"

Kochi stood up next to Silvera as they reached the village gate, glancing at her for a moment, before continuing out toward the denser woody region. "How far out here have you been before?"

"I can't really remember," said Silvera thoughtfully, exiting the village. "I was very young when I last went very far... Maybe I've been one hundred and twenty feet from the gate?" She walked clumsily on two legs, but she couldn't go onto four because of the note.

Scissors is bored :(

A messenger Delibird raced through the woods towards Joy, who was heading back to her little den where she healed. It told her that someone (an NPC) back at camp was ill, so she raced back.

Kochi laughed a bit. "Well, this should be closer to half a mile, so multiply that 120 feet by 20 times. Be prepared to walk." He then sighed. He'd much rather be swimming when traveling distances, as he often felt slow and clumsy on land. But some things had to be done, and he didn't complain.

Hopefully, she'll fall into the trap.
