• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Portal is -free- for -everyone- until May 24th

Portal is extremely short. In that even if you know absolutely nothing about the game, it'll take you about two or three hours to beat at most. And despite the absolute fountain of memes it's spawned and its humor, the game has a creepy, overly-sterile edge to it that really jars with certain things you'll see in the game. I'd have to say that alone, it's not worth being released for anywhere near a full price of a game, but as part of a compilation (like The Orange Box) or for free, it's more than worth it.

It has quite a few things over Scribblenauts, if that's what your worried about: It's very, very short, so it's easy to just breeze through replays. It's very well put-together and the physics are solid. The puzzles aren't easy, but they're intuitive and satisfying to solve, and the game rarely gets outright frustrating.

If you haven't ever played it before it'll most likely take you a bit longer than a couple of hours to complete it.

Also a month or two ago I finally got the 'Aperture Science' achievement. Whoo.
