A neon pink school bus fell from the sky and landed next to the cake that is actually the referee. It honked its horn in a strange, intricate pattern that sounded strangely like the song Dragon was singing before swiping its windshield wipers, which, for some strange reason, resembled the referee cake's referee flags. The school bus's engine rumbled and made a strange tinkering sound, then a row of different sized coconuts fell on Dragon's head while RandomTyphoon's cake cutter turned into an extremely large cup of mocha coffee with a label noting "Warning: extra caffeine and sugar" on it. The neon pink school bus honked its horn again, seemingly satisfied.

Then a bunch of dolphins appeared in midair.

Pera did not notice the falling mammals and, instead, shifted a bit. A dolphin plopped down on the ground next to her, squealing something in dolphin language that could be best translated to "WTF". The Swablu suddenly snored extremely loudly, making the nearby dolphins and Ashglade jump in surprise. However, the Togepi quickly composed himself and focused, his eyes glowing pink with psychic energy. He searched around for the Swablu's mind, which was quite hard considering that there are at least fifteen other intelligent minds next to him. Ah. Ashglade shifted his focus, now trying to find a not-so intelligent mind. There we go. Ignoring the angry squeals of the dolphins that just got their minds read, the togepi dug into to Pera's dream.

Pera yelped and woke with a jolt, the sweet-dream-turned-nightmare still lingering in her mind. Eggie had attacked her in her dream! Eggie would never attack her! And eggie is not a giant pile of poop! Even after all the sleep, the Swablu was feeling pretty tired. She settled into a slightly more comfortable position (which was hard considering that there were dolphins flopping all around her) and looked at little eggie dreamily. Her recent nightmares loomed into mind, and she shook her head. Little eggie would never attack her! Yet the dreams were quite hard to ignore, and, although Pera knew that they weren't real, she still found herself trusting the togepi a bit less. She closed her eyes and rested fo a bit, when a large flipper suddenly thwacked her on the head. It hurt. A lot. The Swablu yelped and opened her eyes, just in time to see the togepi open his mouth in a huge yawn. She was starting to get really tired, now that she's thinking about it...

Pera wanted to sleep. However, there's a battle to finish. She opened her mouth and spat out a ball of toxic goo at the togepi, and, given their close location, the Toxic hit. Ashglade yelped in pain, feeling the poison sink through his dent shell into his bloodstream. The Thunderwave attack had finished charging by then, and the Togepi let the jolt of electricity go. When the paralyzing electricity hit, Pera was already too sleepy to panic at her muscles tensing up again. She once again fell asleep, Ashglade grinned at the swablu, feeling accomplished, before a panicking dolphin hit him on the head with a flailing flipper, followed by a sharp pain in his wound where the toxic had hit. Ow.

The neon pink school bus honked twice, and the dolphins all disappeared, leaving only two slightly bruised Pokemon in the battlefield. The school bus swished its referee-flag-shaped windshield wipers and honked another intricate series of patterns.

A rather annoyed Linoone prodded the bus. "Excuse us for a second, me and neon-pink-bus here need to have a little chat..." the referee Linoone that was not a cake anymore said to the trainers before somehow dragging the school bus off to the corner of the stage.

  • I determine the turns a pokemon sleep by a die roll, so I suppose Pera's lucky in that regard.
  • Chill didn't regain as much energy because Pera got hit in the head by a flipper. And that hurt.
  • The Chaos Engine ate Round Four and turned it into Round 5.

The referee angrily whispered something to the neon pink school bus as the trainers waited for the round to start. The school bus seemed to sigh and honked sadly, then it drove away. The Linoone cleared its throat and walked back to the referee's spot on the field. "Ahem, I believe this is round six. Anyway, round start!"

The familiar sound of the Chaos Engine's rumblings could be heard as RandomTyphoon's cup of coffee turned into something almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea. A strange voice accompanied. "Share and Enjoy!" It said cheerfully.

"Uh-oh" was the response of the referee.

Pera was still peacefully sleeping away when the whole field warped. The city melted away, and large, shiny tables grew out of the ground. The sky lowered and turned into a ceiling, and, as the world gradually settled into place, the referee, trainers, two pokemon, and one neon pink school bus found themselves in a restraunt. A five-star restraunt. With insane, eyeball-crossing inlaid marble floor. A green blob cleared its throat impatiently. "Good evening, madam, gentelman. Do you have a reservation?"

Ashglade decided that he better attack before he goes insane, and focused his mind again. Let's see... a Swa -- holy Arceus what in the world?! The togepi shook his head and focused again, trying not to make eye contact with the large, scaly thing that was now staring at him. His eyes glowing pink, Ashglade managed to locate the bird's dream and ate it. It tasted strangly like cheese. Pera, still asleep, muttered something under her breath, before suddenly jumping up and jabbing her beak sharply into the togepi. Ashglade yelped, before another jab connected right where his eggshell had cracked. A sharp pain traveled through his body, and Ashglade cringed. That hurt. A lot. Another sharp pain followed, this time from the poison. Ow.

The Linoone kicked the neon pink school bus, which had started to slowly edge away. "Um, I believe that there is a possibility that we do. Or will. Or have." It said, looking around carefully. The window was not covered up. Oh crap.

The green blob smiled a polite waiter smile and flipped open its little book. "May I have your name and order please?"

"Um," the referee said, her eye trained on the window, "I think the neon pink school bus here was -- or is, or will be -- the one who reserved -- reservsor will reserve -- it. Why don't you talk with it instead?"

Pera's eyes snapped open. Another nightmare! And it was eggie again, this time turning into -- holy Arceus what in the world?! She tried to calm down, unsucessfully so. The sky is... The sky is... The sky is.... She stared.

Ashglade, with is back facing the window, couldn't tell why the Swablu was staring into space like that. He shrugged. As long as the bird is not attacking... The poison was starting to boil in his blood, and he never liked the bird anyway. He charged forward and smashed into Pera, his arms flailing as he beat up the swablu with a series of punches, scratches, and slaps. Pera yelped in pain, and Ashglade backed off, panting heavily. He was really starting to get tired.

DON'T PANIC, a voice said in Pera's head. The swablu snapped out of her gazing and calmed down somewhat, resting for a while. She felt some energy come back to her, but she was still really worried about the sky. And the fact that she could not move her wings.

There was a sudden applause as the lights dimmed. The band could be heard playing softly in the background, and the bickering between the Linoone and the neon pink school bus died. "So, ladies and gentlemen," Max Quordlepleen breathed, "the candles are lit, the band plays softly, and as the force-shielded dome above us fades into transparency, revealing a dark and sullen sky hung heavy with the ancient light of livid swollen stars, I can see we're all in for a fabulous evening's apocalypse!"

Ashglade turned around just in time to see the End of the Universe.

"Well," the referee noted driely as the light faded and the chatter started up again, "shall we continue?"

Pera and Ashglade were in complete shock. They even did not notice as space warped again as they were all transported back to the arena. The neon pink school bus looked smug, while the referee just looked extremely annoyed.

"Dammit. And I didn't even get to eat the steak."

The referee cleared her throat politely, snapping the two awestruck Pokemon back into the real world. "Now, now. Round whatever-it-was, start!" With a wave of the flags and an all too familiar rumble, the round started.

Pera stared at the large lump of pasta that had suddenly appeared in the field. That was... strangely normal. After the end of the universe, everything seems normal. She shrugged, ignored the large lump of pasta, and settled into a comfortable position. Ashglade followed suit, also ignoring the large lump of pasta sitting next to him. Really, how lame. It was just a lump of pasta. The togepi kicked away a noodle close by and Chilled.

I'd Really Rather That You Don't Randomly Kick Me, a voice said. Two long noodle-tentacles rose out of the lump of pasta, and, on top of them were... eyeballs?

Pera blinked and looked at the large lump of pasta with eyes curiously. That's more like it, she decided. As long as the thing doesn't attack... She looked at the Togepi, who was still Chilling. That probably means no Body Slam, she decided, and focused her energy. She glowed brightly, and found that her muscles could move again. Honestly, the paralysis was getting on her nerves. She glared at Ashglade, annoyed. That stupid egg had hurt her and she had thought he loved her! Honestly!

Ashglade was too busy trying to ignore the ever increasing pain of the poison to pay any attention. The referee, however, was staring at the large lump of pasta with pure awe.

The large lump of pasta looked about, his eyes swiveling before he picked himself up from the ground. There were two huge meatballs in the lump of pasta, Pera noted. The large lump of pasta hovered a bit over the ground and slowly floated next to the two Pokemon. Then, with a poof, it disappered while muttering something about too much rum.

Too much rum is right. The world suddenly blurred and tilted, and Pera found herself unable to see properly. The ground seemed to wave, and she had a terrible headache. It was as if she drank too much rum, the only problem being that she had never drank rum before in her life. Ok, maybe just a little, but still. Supressing the urge to throw up, Pera plopped down on the ground for another quick Chill.

Ashglade wasn't doing much better either. He felt fine, minus the fact that he was super tired, but all of a sudden, he felt as if he was hit in the head by a large gold brick wrapped in a slice of lemon. The ground shifted beneath him, and he couldn't see properly. Is that blue blob over there the swablu? The togepi stood up and wobbled dangerously. He suddenly tripped over his own foot and fell flat on his face. He decided not to get up -- the ground was shifting too much. And the poison definitely did not help.

The referee Linoone was still in awe. Its jaw had dropped to the point that one would wonder whether it had dislocated or not. The neon pink school bus honked loudly, but failed to snap the referee out of it. It made a small whistling sound that might have been a sigh and swiped its windshield wipers while honking in another series of complicated patterns.

  • The dice rolled a 43, so Ashglade hurt himself on the last action.

Now that that's...kinda out of the way...? Chill, one last time. Rather boring, yes, but we need all the help we can get-ter~ f he attacks you on the first round, however, ditch that notion of chillun, and use a Frustration, preferably after he attacks you.

"Whaaaaat...?" The referee was definitely not very happy when it was whacked with a cup of not-really-tea, especially since that it still did not get to eat steak. Although the whack did bring its attention back to the battle. The engine of the neon pink school bus hummed contently as the Linoone waved its referee flags for the umpteenth time. "Round whatever, start!"

And, just as always, the battlefield warped again with a rumble form the Chaos Engine. The buildings nearby turned into trees, the night turned to day, and the battled platform turned into a rather nice grassy field. A nice breeze blew by, and the sun was shining peacefully above. A pidgey chirped in the distance.

Of course, the peace never last long, especially since the Chaos Engine was still at work. "Alright! I accept your challenge!" An extremely famailar young voice called. Linoone groaned inwardly. The neon pink school bus seemed to have disappeared -- typical. The voice continued, "Let's go, Pikachu! Grovyle!" There was a bursts of light, and a green lizard materialized on the field and a yellow rat jumped off from the shoulder of the source of the voice.

It was, as everyone should know by now, Ash Ketchum, everyone's favorite Pokemon trainer. And it seemed like he was intent on battling, for he soon called out his attacks. "Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt! Grovyle, Quick Attack!"

Ashglade and Pera exchanged looks. They were pretty sure that they were supposed to attack each other, but now... Too late. Grovyle smashed into Pera, sending her crashing into the Togepi. The ground spun, and little yellow psyducks seemed to be circling their head. Ohhh, purrtttyyy, Pera noted, and stood up, before tripping over Ashglade and falling flat on her face, getting her beak full of dirt. Ashglade also tried to pick himself up, but the ground suddenly flipped upside down and he, too, tripped, feeling nauseated from the poison. A bright yellow bolt of lightening followed, zapping the two fallen pokemon while the Grovyle jumped smartly out of the way.

Today is not a good day.

Pera tried once again to get up, or at least crawl away from the Togepi, before Ashglade starts doing anything bad. She tripped again, this time over her own wing as she fell flat in the grass. Ashglade had long given up moving and, instead, opened his mouth and screamed, venting his frustration and pain from the poison. The referee covered its ears, and Ash, as well as his Grovyle and Pikachu, cringed with pain. Pera just moaned. "What was that attack?" Ash asked, clueless as ever. Getting no answer, he continued his orders, "Pikachu, Thunderbolt again! Grovyle, use -- " The referee, finally unable to take it anymore, threw one of its referee flags at Ash. It bounced off the boy's hat harmlessly. " -- Bullet Seed! Hey, what was that for?" Ash asked, before realizing that the rather pissed off referee was actually a Linoone. "Hey, Linoone! Don't do that while we're battling, ok? Are you lost? Is your trainer around here?"

"Can you please not interrupt the battle? I'm trying to reff here," Linoone replied, eying the referee flag on the ground next to Ash. It definitely should not have thrown the flag...

Pera shook her head, trying to focus. What did the voice say in her head a few rounds back? Don't something. It was very helpful, now if only she'll remember -- Ah. Don't panic. Or, more accurately, DON'T PANIC. Although the ground shifted in the most horrible way, the Swablu managed to whip up a powerful whirlwind and sent it flying towards where she hoped was the direction of the Togepi. Leaves and dust flew around the air, and the mini-tornado zigzagged across the field (not like it had much distance to travel), before crashing into the poor Togepi, who had, once again, tripped over his own feet. The Twister hit, and the Togepi toppled over, feeling quite sick. A bolt of electricity followed, zapping both Pokemon, and so did a spray of glowing green energy seeds.

By the time it was all over and the battlefield had warped back to normal, Ashglade was lying on the ground, unmoving. Dragon quickly took out a pokeball and recalled the unconscious Togepi, while RandomTyphoon just stood there, looking smug. Pera wasn't that much better off than the fainted Togepi though, as she lay on the ground, tired and in pain. At least the good-for-nothing egg is finished.

  • There are several holes on the battlefield where chunks of rock had been ripped out.
  • Wild ASH appeared! Go, LINOONE! LINOONE used REFEREEFLAG THROW! But it was not very effective...
  • Ash's attacks did not do much damage because he's following the rules of the anime while Ashglade and Pera were following the rules of ASB. It's all relative, you see. Also, type-advantages and disadvantages were not calculated for Ash's attacks, just to be fair.
  • In case you want to know, Ash's attacks did 18% damage in all.
  • Both Pokemon were confused on the first action and hurt themselves.
  • Pera was confused on the second action and hurt herself.
  • Ashglade was confused on the third action and hurt himself.

Round Nine

Dragon yelled something that sounded more like gibberish than anything else as she threw another pokeball, and, with a flash of light, a bright red and blue fish materialized on the battlefield. It flopped around on the ground, searching for water, before sighing and giving up. This is going to be a looong battle, the Carvanha thought to himself.

The Linoone looked around. The neon pink school bus seemed to have permanently disappeared... Not like that's exactly a bad thing. It shrugged and waved the referee flag, which looked so ridiculously normal that it seemed abnormal. "Round something start~" The referee yelled, back to a slightly better mood after Ash had gone away.

"Biiiiii!" A voice trilled, followed by a flash of bright light. The referee shielded its eyes and sighed when the light faded to reveal a small, green, fairy-like pokemon. "Biii!" The pokemon trilled again and started glowing. The light covered the arena, successfully blinding everyone on it for a split second. When it faded, the two trainers and four pokemon found themselves having a very bad case of deja vu. "Biiii," the pokemon trilled one last time before disappearing in another flash of light.

The battle field felt relatively the same as before -- raised platform, check. Dark, gloomy-looking city, check. Chaos engine whirling in the background, check. However, something seemed off...

It could be the fact that familiar-looking dark things are falling from the sky again.

For Pera, everything seemed off. The ground was still moving in the strangest way, and she felt as if she would drop dead any second now. Getting it over with will be a good idea.... She rushed forward suddenly, seemingly disappearing for a second, before appearing briefly as she smashed into the fish, sending both herself and ed'Rashtekaresket sliding backwards a good few feet. Pera felt the rough scales of the fish scratching into her skin, cutting off a few feathers on the way. Ed'Rashtekaresket growled, feeling restless without water, and spat out a burst of salty water at the bird. Pera yelped in pain, the salt stinging her wounds. She flopped onto the ground, giving up to the pain and fatigue.

There was a beam of red light as RandomTyphoon quickly withdrew her fainted pokemon. The words were quickly piling up around the field, but, as the referee waved her flag, the feeling of deja vu, as well as the words, disappeared.

Because, you know, even if that just caused a time paradox, everything goes back to normal after the round ends, right?

A large neon-pink school bus honked its horn excitedly, before getting kicked by the referee.

Round Ten

A beam of red light hit the unconscious Swablu, and the cotton bird pokemon was sucked back to her pokeball, safe and sound. RandomTyphoon pulled out another, similar-looking ball from her belt and tossed it into the middle of the field. Another blinding flash of white light later, her next pokemon of choice had materialized on the battlefield. Alias the Squirtle looked around excitedly, eager to battle after being cooped up for so long. Ed'Rashtekaresket, on the other hand, was just disgruntled at the fact that there was still no water. How as he supposed to battle on land anyway?

The Chaos Engine decided to be on time for once and started rumbling before the referee had time to wave the flags. Small, green plants sprouted from the lifeless concrete ground, their familiar heart-shaped leaves opening to catch the non-existent sunlight. The pokemon yelped in surprise as they were almost pushed off their feet by the sprouting clovers. Yet the clovers looked strange. They were green, yes, and they were clover-sized and shaped, but every single one of them had four leaves. "Round start!" Referee Linoone yelled, waving its now clover-shaped flags.

Ed'Rashtekaresket, although disgruntled by the sprouting plants, suddenly felt extremely lucky for some absurd reason. It could be the fact that he is now in a field of four leaf clovers. He opened his mouth and let out a blast of freezing cold wind at the Squirtle. A row of not-so-lucky four leaf clovers quickly froze in the path of the Icy Wind, and Alias felt an uncomfortable shiver. It wasn't that bad -- water types are used to the cold -- but he is a reptile. And reptiles don't do so well in the cold. The Squirtle had a sudden urge to hibernate, but shook the feeling off -- it was just an attack, and he was feeling quite lucky today. His fist glowing with bright energy, the turtle charged forward towards the Carvanha, ready to punch. Ed'Rashtekaresket flopped around, cursing the lack of water. The punch looked like it would hurt if it hit, and he did not want to get hurt. As Alias punched, ed'Rashtekaresket managed to flop to the side at the last second, and the attack missed by a hair. The Carvanha breathed a sigh of relief while Alias pulled back, a bit annoyed.

At least the Squirtle was close enough so that he won't have to flop all the way to the other end of the field, ed'Rashtekaresket thought to himself as he flopped closer to Alias. Alias looked at the slowly advancing Carvanha and silently giggled to himself. It was funny watching the fish flop around like that. Then, a searing pain rippled through his body as ed'Rashtekaresket chomped down hard on his left leg, the piranha's sharp teeth imbued with dark energy. Ok, now that the attack hit... Holding back tears of pain, Alias's body suddenly gained a metallic sheen as he secreted a thin layer of metal over his body. Ed'Rashtekaresket opened his mouth and let go, grinning over his handiwork. There was now a large gash on the Squirtle's leg where he had bit, and, although a thin layer of metal now covered it, he knew that it would cause some problems for the turtle.

Ed'Rashtekaresket lunged again, once again sinking his teeth into the Squrtle's already injured leg. Alias cried out in pain -- this was not going very well. His leg hurt more than ever, but... Hey, it was only an leg. He could live with it. The special metal hardened over the wound had softened the damage a little, but it still hurt. Alias concentrated, covering his short, stubby tail with another layer of metal, and whirled around, careful to not put too much weight on his injured foot. The tail hit the mark, as ed'Rashtekaresket was too close to flop away in time, and the Cravanha was sent sliding back in the clover field.

"Annndddd the round ends!" With a wave of the clover-shaped referee flags, the four-leaf clovers all shrunk back into the ground and everything returned to normal. Except, perhaps, the previously neon-pink school bus, for it was now a bright green with darker clover designs all over it. The referee sighed and patted the school bus on its side. "Really, it's not even St. Patric's day. Why are you doing this anyway?"

The school bus, naturally, did not respond.

Hmmm. Let's see...Use Body Slam, yes! However, if at any time during this round that fish tries to hurt you with a pysical attack, Counter it! On your second turn, try Haze, get rid of that nastynasty ol Speed deduction. If Haze worked, Iron Defense once more, if not, Frustration
