Okay, Darkness, start with a Rain Dance. You're slower, so you'll have it set up. Then, use Water Pulse twice, unless Fluffy-baby uses Protect, in which case, use Nasty Plot.

BATTLE COMMENCE!
By and large, the Mankey have cleared out from the clearing in the aptly-named Mankey Forest, but a few still peek out from the trees. Primeape is off gathering bananas, but he can be back in a flash the moment the need arises.

MurrMurr, grumbling about people and their lack of naming abilities for arenas, stumbles into the clearing, nearly tripping on an inconveniently-placed root. The siblings, rock-ground and Melati2008, are sitting there waiting for MurrMurr to get with the reffing already. After a few moments of trying fruitlessly to shoo away the remaining Mankey and showing active squads, the trainers reach for their Pokéballs.

Melati2008, grinning slightly, sends out Fluffy-baby the Houndour, who grins wickedly as he prances to take his place on one side of the arena. rock-ground, grinning slightly at the incongruence of the Houndour's name with its personality, sends out Darkness the Spiritomb, who looks as crazy as her species usually does as she sidles up to face Fluffy-baby. Fluffy-baby looks nervous--the natural pressure a Spiritomb's appearance and demeanor puts on people is already getting to him. Commands are ordered, and the Mankey watch as the Pokémon react.

Fluffy-baby, although somewhat disconcerted, goes about thinking as to the best way to kill a maniac, analyzing weak points and attack choices. He feels a mental surge as the critical look at his enemy bolsters his strength. Darkness, straining to move, is nonetheless performing a complicated dance to summon precipitation. Sure enough, as she dances (less-than-fluidly), clouds gather and it starts to rain. A few Mankey hoot uncomfortably, but they don't want to get wet long enough to beat the perpetrator.

Fluffy-baby, wet and soaking, refuses to sit content with the pounding rain. He concentrates deeply, then growls at the sky. Much faster than the clouds appearing, they dissipate and intense sunlight streams through. Darkness howls, getting really annoyed by the evil puppy trying to ruin his perfect rainy weather. He half-belches out a jet of water, propelled by the sound wave. The wave smacks Fluffy-baby on the head, disorienting him and scrambling his brains via funny sounds.

Fluffy-baby, once again howling at the sky, gathers solar energy as fast as possible. While he's doing so, Darkness fires another Water Pulse in his direction. It slams into Fluffy-baby, knocking him back a bit, but it doesn't stop him from firing a huge beam of light and heat straight into Darkness' (nonexistent) gut, passing through and nailing a tree behind her. Luckily for the battlers, no Mankey wants to kill them. The only one on the tree faints when she falls out. Darkness hisses as she slides back up to face her opponent, the sunlight bleary. The Mankey are still watching patiently, which Primeape considers a new record. He worries for the participants a little bit.

Fluffy-baby tries to sit down and think. She concentrates on analyzing weak points of Darkness, and looking at new moves and new underhanded tricks. But, as she leans inward, in her delusional state she can't balance herself and so lands face-down in the hard ground. The Mankey shriek with laughter, causing Darkness to grin (well, improve the cheesiness of her grin). She then used the grin as an opening through which she forced more water. The water knocked the already dizzy Fluffy-baby for a loop, sending her waltzing into a tree. Darkness laughs like a moron, but then an apple falls from the tree and rolls over to Darkness. The Mankey who was eating that apple gets ticked off and kicks at Darkness' rock, hurting her and causing her to forget the previous hilariousness of the situation. The Mankey then snatches the apple and walks away with all the dignity he can muster.

Fluffy-baby pouts, steadying her head and concentrating on the memory of the Mankey beating up Darkness. Using the intense sun to her advantage, she begins solar intake. After a moment's pause, she fires the beam at Darkness, who restrains the volume of her reaction--better not to let on as much pain as the enemy wants. She then begins the usual water-gathering as she forces Fluffy-baby to whine in pain again. Nothing much has changed about Darkness' relentless stream (metaphorically and literally) of attacks.

The Houndour looks expectantly at Darkness, but seeing no evident preparation for attacks or indication of shields. In doing so, she focuses all her negative mental energy up, projecting those emotions in a sort of outward force, concentrating the brunt of the blast towards Darkness. Darkness cringes, but manages to keep holding on enough to try to lock eyes with Fluffy-baby. She manages to make contact, and the air ripples as a little pulse of energy distorts the air around Fluffy-baby, causing his eyes to droop and him to get exceptionally tired. He lies down for a nap as the sun continues to beat down.

Fluffy-baby starts off the round with disjointed mutters, causing him to stand up (shakily) and mentally prepare for a shield. But in his severe (read: completely delusional) confusion, he directs the shield behind him. In his sleepy concentration, he doesn't notice the Mankey sneaking up behind him with a stick. Dakrness begins plotting how she can hurt Fluffy-baby just as the Mankey strikes Fluffy-baby over the head and he falls down, sleeping and bruised.

Darkness, although eager to test out her newly heightened powers, begins once more the complicated dance that will rid the clearing of its sunlight. She is so caught up in her complex movements that she pays no attention to Fluffy-baby rising and muttering drearily. Right as she finishes and comes to her senses, she is clipped by Fluffy-baby's now glowing tail. Darkness yelps and retreats to her little corner as the rain starts anew. A Mankey takes offense to the rain dampening her fur and ruining her snack, and so leaps nimbly off of her tree. She walks up to Darkness, slaps her with all the force she can muster, and walks away for the shelter of the trees.

Fluffy-baby rises once more, looking for all the world like a zombie pooch in the rain and eerie lighting. She concentrates her flaming energy into a single point at her mouth, and sends a small tendril of flame out towards Darkness. The wispy flame, battling the rain, nonetheless worms its way towards Darkness' ghostly existence, inflicting a little burn where it sears the ether. Darkness, hissing internally, gathers water, stemming even more power than usual from the rain, sends Fluffy-baby screaming and panting in her sleep as she is hit by a tidal wave-like blast of sheer water.

Whoooah dang, there should be no way that a +2 special attack, rain dance boosted water pulse to an SE target from a final evolution does only 2% more damage than an iron tail.

Iron tail's only worth about 10%, unless I'm missing something major here.
 
^ Oh yeah, I must have been delusional. Calculated dmg is 15%, saw 2 and was thinking "OK two more damage". Fixing now.

Fluffy-baby, although winking the stars out of his eyes, remains asleep fitfully and mutters as he stands in the pouring rain. He leaps with sudden speed at Darkness, who winces from the flurry of movement. Nonetheless, she can't escape in time to experience a tiny searing sensation as Fluffy-baby bites her. It's not enough to worsen her burn or do large amounts of damage, but she screams anyway, mostly from pent-up frustration. This disorients a playful Mankey on a tree, causing him to fall and crush Darkness. Fluffy-baby falls to the floor, although no one can tell whether it's from exhaustion or the joke (It's raining Mankey, hallelujah it's raining Mankey!). Darkness, incredibly annoyed, fires the same jet of water as always, the one that Fluffy-baby knows and hates and is sent flying from. Finally, he blinks, yawns, and wakes up. It's been a while.

Fluffy-baby takes advantage of her general awake-ness to growl at the sky. The evil rain cloud recedes, to be replaced by dazzling sunlight. Darkness, still committed to killing off the antagonizing fire dog, releases another jet of water. Although severely weakened by the sunlight, with her heightened powers she rams the Water Pulse into Fluffy-baby with just enough force to send him sprawling for good. A Mankey, clearly prejudiced towards Fluffy-baby, jumps at Darkness, continuing the Mankey torment that Darkness just can't seem to get away from. The burn inflicted previously sears under the influence of the sun as she stands over the limp but breathing body of Fluffy-baby.

Melati2008, looking cocky even in the face of defeat, lithely throws out her second (and final) Pokeball, containing the pompous-looking Fluffy-noodle. The Aerodactyl, upon emergence from its ball, starts flying around the clearing without a care in the world, gaining some suspicious glances from the Mankey all around.

Status: Eagerly awaiting the kill, and trying to look the part in an over-the-top way.

Fluffy-noodle, trying to appear as pompous as possible, dashes straight for Darkness, spewing fire from his mouth. Darkness is hit directly, and her burns worsen as they come into contact with the nasty, overheated stuff. Squealing slightly, she knocks into a tree, causing a Mankey to fall on top of Fluffy-noodle's head. The extra weight causes him to sink to Darkness' eye level, which happens to be perfect for her plan. Darkness begins looking lovingly into Fluffy-noodle, wooing him with words that don't seem to fit with the tense scene in the forest and considering the nasty burns. Nevertheless, Fluffy-noodle falls for it and tries to snuggle up towards the fantasic creature before him. However, some ounce of self-preservation tells him to stay, and stay he does.

Fluffy-noodle recalles that he is supposed to burn Darkness to a crisp this turn. But he doesn't want to hurt the object of his snugglaffection, so coughs up a pathetic ember in an equally pathetic attempt to please his trainer, and then inches closer. Darkness grins wickedly as Fluffy-noodle sidles up to her, and then quickly dashes away. Fluffy-noodle groans as his sugarpuffle moves away at inhuman speed, appearing to dissolve, before finally...solidifying as three distinct lovelykins. The real Darkness smiles as the Aerodactyl before her becomes ecstatic, but this smile turns into a grimace as her recently worsened burns wreak havoc on her recently charred body. The clones peter out of existence as Darkness' consciousness fades. She faints, not falling as she is still tethered to the rock.

Fluffy-noodle takes to the air again, with the oddest feeling. As the sun shines on his back, he gets the feeling that he was actually in love with the despicable creature (now unconscious) below him. It was probably just a ploy. Yeah, a ploy. At any rate, he relaxes his breathing and lets some energy come back to him.

-The sun is intense and will remain so unless changed for another 11 actions.
