2 vs. 2
DQ Time: 5 days
Damage Cap: None
Banned moves: OHKOs, Destiny Bond, Perish Song and similar; Super Fang, Endeavor, Pain Split, and similar; 5 chills/Pokemon, 1 direct healer/Pokemon
Arena: Basic Stage
The Basic Stage is simply that; a plain expanse of mottled white tiled floor. A large pond of water waits on the side, for Water types to use and stay in. Above is the sky, where for now, the sun hovers far above. There are no special effects, and the field is completely flat, the tiling reaching about a hundred feet square. The tiling isn’t very strong, and can easily be broken for access to dirt for moves such as Dig and Mud Slap.

Suicune gave a mighty huff, and a swirl of snow and ice shot from its mouth. At the same time, it extended its power over the north wind and created a vicious, driving gale, which whipped the snow at Skylark’s Pokemon. Persephone cried out as she was assaulted by winter winds and pelted by ice crystals; lucky Static was saved by his Substitute yet again. The attack left Persephone shivering and the Substitute on its last legs, though the ambient charges surrounding them kept away the worst of the cold. Still, Persephone’s teeth chattered uncomfortably, and not even the miniature sun in the room could warm her up.
Persephone groaned at her next command. Maybe the pseudo-sun wasn’t doing the best job at warming her up, but it would be preferable to rain, right? But it was sputtering anyway, as if the energy that fed the intense light was running out; it would be best to change it to something that benefitted them. The rain would guide Static’s powerful Thunders. Persephone shuffled around a bit in the most graceful dance her rotund body would allow, nurturing a gloomy grey orb between her hands all the while. With a few final spins, Persephone threw the sphere towards the ceiling, where it exploded, instantly dousing the mini-sun and kicking the weather generators to life. With a whirring sound they began to spit out rain. Skylark opened his umbrella again.
With the rain aiding his efforts, Static knew that his next attack couldn’t possibly miss. The mighty Kyogre was done for. Static let out a high-pitched cry, and the heavens boomed in response, sending a great pillar of lightning onto Kyogre a second later. Engulfed in the hated electricity, it flailed and arched its back in pain. The legendary’s roar was so loud it nearly drowned out the thunder itself. However, it seemed that roaring was the only thing Kyogre had the energy left for; with a massive thump the whale hit the floor again, unconscious. The legendary then burst into static and faded into the air.
If Suicune was concerned by the disappearance of its teammate, it didn’t show it. It simply spat out another stream of the gel that formed a Substitute earlier in the match. Realizing this, Persephone created a ball of dark energy between her palms. It stretched towards Suicune, waiting… As soon as the Substitute began to take shape, tendrils of shadow shot forth, dragging the structure towards Persephone instead. Suicune barked in annoyance and gave its opponent a murderous glare, but the Chansey took no notice; she was already shoving a nutritious egg down the stolen mimic’s throat. As soon as the egg disappeared into its mouth, the Substitute turned a pale pink. It blinked and shook each paw experimentally.
Without a decoy to protect itself, Suicune was now at the mercy of Static’s electric attacks. It growled at Static in an attempt to intimidate him, but the Mareep was already crackling with electricity. Suicune tried to brace itself for the impact that it knew was coming, but no amount of anticipation could prepare it for the burning pain. The crashing boom temporarily deafened the great beast and the electricity fried its nerves so that even when the attack faded away, the tenacious agony remained. Wobbling on its feet, Suicune gave a low moan; its legendary stamina was starting to waver.
Suicune knew that if it wanted a chance at winning, it needed to take care of one of its opponents. Much to its dismay, both looked relatively fresh, though Static was without a single bruise after coming out of his healing trance. With a sigh Suicune lowered its metabolism, causing its body temperature to plummet. Then it spat a stream of water, the liquid freezing as it passed through the mouth. The result was a thin beam of ice that slammed into Persephone’s Substitute, which threw itself in the way just in time. Suicune growled as its opponent was protected by an insultingly pink Suicune lookalike. That was its own Substitute, damnit.
An ominous crackling interrupted Suicune’s internal complaining. There wasn’t even any time to bark in panic. Another column of lightning engulfed the legendary, searing and burning and roasting. So great was the pain that Suicune couldn’t even whimper. In fact, it couldn’t move a single muscle. Suicune prayed that it would regain control as soon as the Thunder dissipated, but no such luck; his limbs remained stiff.
If there was ever a time Suicune needed to be calmed, this was it. Persephone seized the opportunity. She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together, a lovely lullaby pouring from her throat. Her voice was angelic, and despite himself even Static started to feel a bit sleepy… Unfortunately, the effect was mostly lost on Suicune, as its ears were still ringing from the
boom of repeated Thunders. It strained to hear, but could only catch a few words; when the song drew to a close, the beast was still very much awake. Persephone pouted, angry that her performance was wasted.
Almost unnoticed by the battlers, Suicune’s flickering Reflect gave out entirely. The pinkish screen collapsed on itself, forming a heap of pinkish dust that floated away on the wind.

Terrain notes
Sunny Day has been replaced by the rain, which will last for 2 more rounds (6 more actions).
Final notes
Skylark attacks first next round.
Kyogre fainted on the first action.
The third Thunder paralyzed Suicune.
Sing missed.
Skylark, a Substitute takes all status conditions for its creator, and all direct damaging attacks. This means that neither Sing or Dream Eater would work on a Pokemon with a Substitute.
