Yeah, this is definetly gonna cause some havoc if it's deemed OU. Everybody will be filling their teams with stuff like Ice Beam Blissey and things with Ice Shard. I reckon Choice Specs Skymin will be more common, as 120 SpAtk is nothing to laugh at, and when backed up with Choice Specs, even Blissey's gonna be hard-pressed to stop it, what with the 80% chance of halving SpDef with Seed Flare.

You also missed Growth on that list. That's gonna be popular too.
 
I haven't seen anyone talk about this, but isn't Omnious Wind a better option instead of Growth? I know it's just a 10% chance of raising the stats, but taking advantage of Serene Grace, I think it would serve it's purpose way better because it also inflicts damage. May come in handy for Dusknoir or Cresselia trying to wall it. Dusknoir with Will-o-Wisp and Ice and/or Fire Punch can be trouble, and so can an Ice Beam Cresselia. Another possible counter is Snorlax with Fire Punch.

I think a Swords Dance set can also be popular, combining the 338 Atk with Life Orb and moves like Zen Headbutt, Return, Seed Bomb and SD.

Can be if a quick attacker if needed too. There's also Natural Cure.
 
Why would this be used as a Quick Attacker? That's best left to BPunch Scizor or Hitmontop. O_o

And this guy's probably going to go through some testing too, so don't get too panicky about seeing this guy in OU.
 
Also, don't forget that people can only use it during the day time on the games

...That has got to be the crappiest game mechanic out there. What if one can only play the game at night? What, no Sky Shaymin?

Mewtwo is stronger in every single stat almost porportionally and resists Toxic, Shaymin would be completely overshadowed. Shaymin's typing and movepool are also crappy in Uber, I sure hope it is OU.
 
It doesn't matter whether it would perform poorly in Ubers. If it rips apart the competition in OU, then it's off to Ubers.
 
Ice shard Weavile is a single counter. Getting everyone to have an Ice Shard weavile just to kill skymin is really limiting OU even more.

(also, fs skymin survives the first ice shard, air slashes, and then can quick attack weavile to kill it, if need be)
 
You seem to be forgetting Registeel. He has Clear Body and resists Skymin's STAB moves; any Skymin without Earth Power is handily dealt with.
 
As somebody who has actually battled a fair few of these over Shoddy Battle, I think I should say it's not as good as everyone thinks. However, it is pretty annoying, and I think OU would be better without it.

And Christ nobody cares if it does well in Ubers or not.

Because he didn't capitalize Quick Attack, I believe he just meant "fast sweeper."

It's counterable without an Uber, so there's no way it could be Uber.

Not quite true. Wobbuffet has counters, but it's still considered an uber. Although one argument used to send pokémon above the great glass ceiling in the sky is that they're uncounterable, another is simply that they overcentralize the metagame. The idea of OU is to have the largest number of pokémon be playable and to permit the largest number of viable strategies. Countering wobbuffet usually requires dedicating some pokémon solely to that purpose, or building a team with wobb in mind. That's why it's uber, not because it has no counters.
 
You can if you use BP or U-turn, and then you can countertrap with something like toxictrio or toxicpinch or bring in something to threaten, as with a normal switch. Gastro acid, worry seed, and so on allow you to switch out and bring something else in as well, unless I'm remembering wrong and they don't work on shadow tag for some reason.

Obviously your ability to counter is much more limited, but it's not impossible.
