Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.
Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.
Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?
according to douglas adams all the significant changes caused by time travel, by its very nature, have allready happened
how do you know that the tree ever "exists"?

By what we know so far.yeah there isn't really a debate here: time travel is impossible.
two-way time travel should be impossible. you're time traveling just by existing.
Technically, if the universe is infinite, there will be an infinite number of planets, thus meaning that there would be other life in the universe (not strictly relevant, but hey) and not only that, but any given specification of life would be out there (yay, Pokémon is real if the universe is infinite!) thus meaning that every second of time is ocurring somewhere. So if we could travel the mind-boggling distances, we would kind of travel through time...
But if the universe is finite, then none of this is true.
I hope it is infinite.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
I was simply addressing FireChao's argument, saying that by acknowledging the tree as real enough to debate its ability to make sound, you validate its existence.
just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean it's not there
