Trick Room Question

Roguemagus

Plucky Comic Relief
I admit that this question is rather naïve of me, but I can't quite figure it out. How does Trick Room empower a strategy around it? Do you use it, then use a slow, high-powered Pokemon to clean up?

Re: Question

Yes, Trick Room makes Pokemon like Clamperl and Slowbro much more powerful as they have great attacking stats but bad speed. But still...I'm new to competitive battling.

Re: Question

Clamperl sucks ass either way.

Trick Room's good for things like Slowbro and Bronzong, though, yeah.

It's for a sweeper; Trick Room is for when you have a Pokemon with a strong finisher (Fire Blast) on a slow Pokemon with Gyro Ball as its main.

For example, Bronzong. Gyro Ball is for the normal attacks, Trick Room then either Psychic or something with high attack for slight type coverage. It's for those paranoid trainers.

DeepSeaTooth doubles its Special Attack, which makes it extremely high. But then again, slapping a Life Orb on most stronger special attackers has a similar effect...

And if you do that, then you'll have a Pokemon with non-abysmal stats. Slowbro's common for a reason.

he was used 193 times!

...out of 15151 battles.

he's pretty much outclassed by <insert other common bulky water here>

well rhyperior moreso because the other rock/grounds take x4 from water and grass attacks, whereas he takes x2.5 iirc

the real beast in trick room is probably curse snorlax or machamp though :V
