• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Wayfarer Comms

Well, shit. That's exactly what I was afraid of. So, one of 'em's dead, huh?

I'm going to be honest, I don't really know what happened with the other admins. Just the one down in the base's deep lab. Can someone bring me up to speed?

Correct. As for the battle within Terminal Two itself, the battle on the main floor against the three apprehended admins was a success. The sudden loss of power throughout the facility was my doing, I destroyed their generators with a Blast Seed. I do not regret it. Furthermore, when they saw we had the upper hand, they willingly Shadowed themselves, failing to take notice of our abilities to use Radiance. They fell quicker as a result.

Those assigned to the prison cells for rescue can give further details, however they seemed to have recovered several notes that were being held in a room containing a "special" prisoner; the midday lycanroc Leona. I believe I overheard something about her being another Lycas during the escort. Someone else with more knowledge on her can further elaborate. She is heavily Shadowed but is being looked after by the Rangers.

They shadowed themselves. Which makes them fodder for Alexander. Cool. Great. Maybe this run in will heighten their fear enough that they'll cooperate.

Are you guys okay, though?

…Jeez, what’s with all these criminal guys falling like Shedinja? Gods!

Even if, it’s not like that’s really a big loss for the multiverse, all things considered…

Well! Reporting from the release-all-prisoners party, I guess! Things got somewhat turbulent, but still nothing that we couldn’t handle. We rescued many prisoners with varying levels of Shadows in their bodies and calmed ‘em down with healing and soothing Radiance.

Also, I’ve got those scientific shadow docs that we found by Leona’s prison and that might contain some how-to on the shadow process.

Anyone knows some mad scientist who could take a look at ‘em and maybe find ways to reverse-engineer the shadow process or something? I’ve been thinking of Gerome’s kiddo, but if there’re other suggestions…

Lovrina, the annoying hammer goblin, is apparently the scientist behind the ARK Unit chimera and was all too willing to brag about the process. I'm going to interrogate her about it, hopefully with Greenbough. If you've got documents I'll see if I can make heads or tails of it first.

Yes, do speak of your findings as soon as possible. However, be prepared for the possibility of disappointment and the headache of trying to reverse engineer the process based on those notes as Ein was happy to tell us that he put no effort in looking into curative measures.

On the other hand, Sybil has spoken a little more regarding her reserch of the Relic found within the Timeless Oasis. Apparently Cipher believed it to be a possible cure hence why it was targeted in the midst of your expedition. Perhaps it may be of use to present those notes and your findings to Sybil when we next see her.

Yes, right, the gamer girl.

For those who noticed the third chimera, that's Ark. They're... the native type: null to Forlas. Built by the Covenant, apparently. They wanted to make Ark a source of artificial radiance. But they lacked both the means and the patience... and ended up trading them to Cipher for crappy, second-hand tech. Lovrina instead repurposed Ark as a source of artificial
shadows. So, you can see why we'd want to find a solution.

That said, even if that Ein guy said
he put no effort into looking into curative measures doesn't mean Cipher as a whole wasn't looking at some countermeasures. Lovrina and her murkrow buddy had some form of corruption prevention, because when I blew up the machine siphoning Ark's shadows, it effected all of us, but not them.

Maybe now that they've seen Alexander up close, they might have a change of heart. The murkrow at least seemed pretty damn skittish. Might be able to get to Lovrina through him.

... In the meantime, I'm looking for a place Ark and I can lay low. If anyone knows of anything, please tell me.

Well, there's that cabin out in the hills east of Frontier Town? The one that belonged to the old sheriff.

Nobody's using it, and... Well, I just have this feeling like if the previous occupant ever came back, they wouldn't be mad about it.

It's hard not to be sympathetic to Ark, you know?

Oh, that's a good idea! I've never been to it, though. Could someone show us the way?

I do! It's... uhh...

Well, I
had a map. Now I have the charred remains of a map.

Hey, so... that impersonator that tried to con Andre is back. And they were pretending to be me. I spotted them in town but they were too fast for me to catch them. Anyone aside from Silver, Andre, and Ghaspius talk with me today? Because those are the only Wayfarers I've run in to.

I don't know what's going on here, but I'm going to recommend we try to stick to Betelepathy for any serious discussions until we've figured this situation out.

…Well, isn’t this such a lovely situation?

To add to Nova’s suggestion, maybe something we could do would be ‘pinging’ each other with a telepathic message whenever we meet, before we talk about sensitive information? If the other ‘Wayfarer’ doesn’t respond, then we’ll know for sure we’re dealing with an imposter.

Everyone, can you hear us? We've come from the Grand Quarry Dungeon. Or, Twilight Quarry--we're under attack. Alexander's Void Shadows are pursuing us. I don't see Alexander himself, but... Owen is here. And we saw a few others. We need help escaping and warding them away... And maybe we can apprehend a few. But we can't do that alone. We're running!

There's a road between Twilight Quarr--between Grand Quarry and Frontier Town. Follow that path until you see us. Can't miss it. We're being chased by a horde of Void Shadows. They look like... You'll know.

We managed to fend them off. Got Ignormaus and Koa's drapion bestie back, but we couldn't rescue Owen.

The former two are with Mew and Giovanni, who showed up when the horde fled. And, yes, Mewtwo confirmed the obvious for us. He claims he's working on behalf of some higher authority.

I'm sure by now you all have heard about the encounter with the Roaming Cyclone in the orchards a few days ago.

Just now, what I believe to be another regional Legendary bird variant destroyed a watchtower in Blaguarro. It was hard to see, but it had an aura around it that licked like flames. This time it did not stick around, and ran as soon as it was sure we saw its handiwork. After the orchard incident, something tells me this is no coincidence...

Please be alert for any more sightings of these Legendaries. I fear they bring only trouble.
