• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed X: The step into other worlds

Raith glided north, then suddenly turned westward. Soon, Raiquen saw a gigantic base stretching it's reach across a vast distance.
"Oh man...This'll take forever." He moaned.
"I know where he's being held." Raith muttered.
"Oh. Never mind then."

"Then let's go... I'm gonna kill 'em all..." Zora snarled.
"Zora, don't. Seriously, if you feel like it's gonna come again, restrain it until you really need it." Spirit urged, massaging her shoulders.
"True as that may be, I just..."
"Relax. I know."

Raith descended, and landed on a quite big building. There was a small keypad, and Raith typed in a number. The ceiling opened big enough for Darkness to get through.
"Dude. That's trippy." Raiquen said, smiling lightly.

Darkness descended through the hole, and landed silently on the floor inside. She lowered her head, and Zora slid off.
"OK, we're here. Now where do we go?"
"Girl don't get impatient. We still don't know what we're up against."

"Rhythm is right there." Raith pointed to a sturdy metal cage. Before Raiquen could move, Raith threw his halberd. It immediately came back to him, but an alarm went off.
"Why the hell'd you do that?!" Raiquen yelled.
"We couldn't have gotten through there anyways. We can eliminate the guards, then free Rhythm."

Zora glanced at the cage and growled, before coughing.
"What's wrong?" Spirit asked.
"The rage is burning the back of my throat..." she choked.
"Fight it off!!" Darkness roared before the alarms went off. As they did, she reared back and roared again.

Raith waited for quite a while. No one had appeared, and the alarms went silent. He slowly looked at the light, then back at the cage.
"There's no one here..." He muttered. Raiquen had nearly moved, but Raith put his halberd in front of him
"Do not move." Raith threw his halberd again, and the lights went out. They were in complete darkness.

"Spirit. Did you bring the torch?" Zora asked.
"I did." Spirit pulled out a rod she'd had strapped to her back.
"Don't light it yet. I was only checking." she coughed again. That wasn't rage; it was acid. She swallowed it back and massaged her throat.
"What do we do now?"

Raith threw his halberd, and this time it scaled the room. There was still no one there.
"Perhaps the only thing we can do is try to free Rhythm. He was directly in front of-" Raith stopped, because the lights had just turned back on and more than a thousand guards blocked their way.
"Well. This was unexpected."

Spirit grinned.
"It looks like we fight our way through." she said simply, slamming the rod into the ground. At the end of it materialized a huge golden blade, with a circular chip in the middle for taking heads off. Attached to her belt there appeared several kunai as well as a holster for shuriken.
Starlight jumped off of Darkness' back and summoned her two black katana. Zora pulled out her sword, and Darkness reared back again, baring her claws.

Raith grabbed his halberd, while Raiquen whipped out his sword and let darkness overtake him again. This time, he was able to control it and focused his anger only on the guards. He roared as the guards charged, and both him and Raith got lost in the battle.

Zora, having grown used to mass battles, swung her sword at every guard in sight. Spirit just swung once and the sheer size of her own sword took out at least 8. Darkness raised a foreleg in the air, and slashed with her claws, taking out a good 25 of 'em. Starlight clasped both her hands together with the katanas still in them.
"Tear them to shreds, Anseyuhime!!" she cried. As she did, the katanas fused as they did before, making the same huge blade as before. She then proceeded to swing it around once, and the spikes flew off of it at the nearest guards before reattaching to the sword itself.

Deax unsheathed a large sword. It was almost as big as Spirit's sword. The bklade was shining steel. She clasped her hands onto the black grip.

Sephii held her spiked club and started spinning around.

Raith took out all he could, then glanced at Raiquen before attacking more guards. From the glance that he had gotten, he could see that Rai's body was already entirely engulfed by darkness, and it seemed to get up his motivation as Raith glanced once more and saw a guard flying quite a ways away.

It almost appeared as if Darkness was tiring after repeated slashing as she lowered her head and growled at the guards in front of her. But then she inhaled and barbecued them with her fire-breath. Spirit had the chip in her sword around some poor soul's head, and she was grinning madly.
"Do you fear death...?" she asked him before taking off his head.
Zora locked swords with a guard and grimaced. She had to think of what to do, and when she did she quickly overpowered him and stabbed him through the head.

Raith let out a deep breath, then looked up. There were about thirty living guards left, and they were petrified by the performance. As Raith glided towards them, they backed away.
"Get out of here if you want to live!" Raith yelled, and almost immediately they dropped their weapons and scattered out.
"Now, can we gather Rhythm and get out of here?"
