Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed X: The step into other worlds

"Yeah, I got it." Darkness said after turning back into a human. She reached into one of the inside pockets of her trenchcoat, and pulled out a set of lockpicks on a keyring.
"Where's the door?"
"How do you know that will even work?" Zora asked, resheathing her sword and walking over to the cage where her sister was.

"The entryway is on the top of the cage." Raith said, pointing to it.
"We need to get him and get out. My wounds are actually starting to hurt."
"I was stabbed. What could have been on the guy's sword? I don't want to know." Raiquen muttered.

Darkness paced around the cage a few times, until coming to a closed door with a keyhole on it. She selected one of the picks on the keyring and stuck it into the hole, twisting it around until she heard a click. When she removed the pick and put it back in her pocket, the door swung slowly open with a small creak.
"It's open, as you can see."

"Oh thank God you're here." Rhythm gasped, scrambling out. He took deep breaths, then looked at Raith.
"Hey! He's the one who locked me up in here!"
"And the one that helped save you." Raith growled, "Have some respect."

"Glad to have you back." Spirit smiled.
"Yup. Never knew that lockpicking kit would come in handy until now." Darkness muttered.
Zora didn't say a word at first. Instead, she simply walked up to him and hugged him tightly.
"I missed you."

Rhythm cringed as Zora hugged him.
"I missed you too but Zora they did something to my back and it hurts!" He cried, closing his eyes tightly in pain.
"That was Yvette. I had no part in that." Raith said.
"I know, no need to apologize." Rhythm said. Raith snorted.
"I wasn't."

"I knew there'd be a catch..." Darkness sighed, turning back to dragon form.
Zora backed off sadly.
"I'm sorry, I just..."
"Let's just go, alright?"

"Darkness, you don't mind if I hitch a ride, do you? My wings aren't suitable for flying right now..." Rhythm asked, as Raiquen clambered on. Raith had already flown off.

"I don't mind at all." Darkness roared rather happily as Zora, Spirit and Starlight climbed on.
"I can't even hug him..." Zora sighed, staring rather amorously and sadly at Rhythm. Spirit patted her back.
"Cheer up. We saved him."

Rhythm struggled himself on, then planted himself down and sighed.
"Alright, we're ready." Raiquen said. Raith had come back and was floating above the hole in the roof, waiting.

Darkness leaped off the ground and flew out of the hole in the direction they had come from. Zora stared downward, and it almost looked as if she were crying. Spirit had tried everything to bring her out of it, but it hadn't worked, so she decided to ask.
"OK, what's wrong?"
"I couldn't help myself when I hugged him, and it hurt him... I don't want to hurt the one I love... Right now it feels like a thousand apologies couldn't make up for having caused him pain... At any rate, tell the others we found him..."
It was only when she had looked up for the first time since climbing on that Spirit could see her red, bloodshot eyes.
"You really have been crying, haven't you...?"
"Yes... I just told you, I didn't want to hurt him... Now tell them and leave me alone..."
"I...Alright..."

Meanwhile, back in the waiting room, Kirita had nodded off again while Hera and Cyndra were busy playing poker for money. Cyndra grimaced - she was down almost $200. But she jumped at Kirita's sudden movement when her head snapped up.
"Kirita what is it?"
"They found him. They're on their way back."

Rhythm sighed and watched Raith glide around Darkness suspiciously.
"Rhythm, your back is bleeding." Raiquen said, just now noticing.
"I know. I'll tell you, or rather, show you why once we get back to the hospital."
------
"That's a good thing. I'm getting tired of watching Cyndra lose so much." Melody said, standing up and stretching.

"Oh dear..." Spirit muttered, glancing at Rhythm's back, then the sullen girl next to her. She hadn't looked up since, and didn't appear to take notice of the mention of Rhythm bleeding, which was probably a good thing. The less she noticed about him being in pain in any way, the less she'd blame herself, the way Spirit saw it.
Just hope I can fix it before she notices...
------------------
"Shut up about the losing streak..." Cyndra muttered, glaring at Melody.

"Don't worry. It's not fresh." Rhythm said to Spirit.
"It must have hurt like hell." Raiquen muttered.
"Meh, not as much as I had expected."
------
"Hey, I'm just speaking the truth." Melody said, with a giggle following shortly after.

"I hope it's not..." Spirit muttered, "But is it fixable is what I want to know." she spared another glance. Zora still remained unresponsive, even after Starlight started poking her repeatedly, which she usually hated.
"We're almost there, people." Darkness grunted as the hospital came into view.

"I'll be scarred, if that's what you want to know." Rhythm said, sighing. He then became silent, staring at the hospital as it came closer. Raiquen watched the trees go by in a blur, holding his stab wound.

Darkness soon landed in front of the hospital. Spirit slid off, followed by Starlight, but Zora still did not respond. Which made Spirit climb back on and grab her, pulling her off before Darkness changed back into a human.
Wish I knew why she was being so unresponsive...

Raiquen walked into the hospital first, followed by Raith, then Rhythm.
"Ah. Glad you guys made it back in one piece." Aidan said, looking up as the door opened.
"Mm-hmm..." Rhythm muttered. He had noticed Spirit having to pull Zora off of Darkness, and was wondering if he has somehow hurt her feelings.

Darkness entered after Rhythm, followed by Starlight, then Spirit and Zora.
"Ah, you're back." Cyndra began, "Can I borrow a hundred dollars?"
"No you can't!" Darkness replied, "Have you been losing to Hera in poker again?!"
"...Maybe."
Spirit sat Zora down in a chair.
"What the hell. Why are you not responding to anyone?"
"..."
"Zora?"
"..."
With that, Spirit stepped over to Rhythm.
"I think this has something to do with her hurting you when she hugged you. Can you talk to her? I can't get her to reply."

Rhythm looked at Zora, then sighed.
"I'll certainly try." He said, walking over and taking a seat next to her.
"Zora? Is there anything you want to speak to me about?"
