My greatest test of musicianship would either have to be "Chopsticks?" (an arrangement of Chopsticks that switches from 3/8 to 2/4 every bar) or Song of the Blacksmith. I haven't played a lot of overly difficult stuff.
The reason I ask about Carowinds is because my boyfriend and I had a very odd experience there this summer. I've noticed several times that the music they play over the speakers is strikingly similar but not exactly the same as several popular tunes - there's "rip-offs" of Superman, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and the 20th Century Fox themes. Usually though it's movie themes (or John Williams) which made the following experience all the weirder. So my boyfriend and I were sitting down, listening to the music, and I thought the music playing sounded eerily familiar, but I couldn't place it as being from a movie or anything. No... in fact... this sounded like something we'd played in band class?
At about the exact same moment we realized -
"English Folk Song Suite!"
We're still positive that's what was playing, even though in the context of things it makes very little sense for them to make a rip-off version of a medley of British folk tunes for an American amusement park. But we're almost positive it was - there was even the sudden transition from 2/4 major to 6/8 minor in the third movement that was heavily dominated by woodwinds. It was one of the strangest (musical) moments of my life.
