• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Is Kanzan actually in Republic City? Like, would we be capable of directly meeting with him and speaking in sinister tones after the riot, or would we be using the telephone/telegram or whatever?
splitting parties does, to be certain, work rather better when the rp in question has multiple collected threads. nevertheless, I do concur with allie in noting that splitting parties would be beneficial in an rp of such size -- if nothing else, it makes it rather simpler to deal with, say, people who actually need sleep. the usual convention, I think, in single-thread rp, is to place a label at the beginning of each post indicating the setting in which it occurs.

organisation seems like it would establish itself naturally, since any segments involving conflict would by necessity involve certain character interactions; and others don't seem like they would need much in the way of moderation unless there's a certain structure you want in the construction of the world -- which you might, I guess, but it doesn't really seem so much so.

also your group is now neo-equalists. definitely. it's a catchy name, don't you think?
IDK, I just got the entire history of soviet russia to the theme of tetris stuck in my head.
    *brushes self off*

    Well little tribe boy,
    you might have the rhymes
But your bending ain't worth a dime.

    *what*
Ah, no, I was wording it that way because I didn't want to edge into godmoding if Ulqi wanted to stop me. I probably could've worded it better, though, yeah. Currently Yue's streaming the water that had been freezing him to the stage around her so that it's more her weapon than Adelé's.

Since we haven't really declared his name or anything I guess it was unclear but I also had him get off the stage and we don't even know his location any more.
    Yo the name is Rai
    I'll be fire nation

    You get in my way,
    Bro you gonna fry
    I promise you that,
    man, it ain't no lie!

    /Phantom's terrible rapping skills.
It's easy enough for people to post headings or something if necessary, so they know who to respond to. "Neo-Equalist A"/"Neo-Equalist B"/"Team Avatar" in bold for example, if your group's been split into two because one is trying to stop a bunch of monsters and the rest are directing the refugees or something while we're torturing the last guy you helped for your whereabouts.

It's not necessarily that difficult - when plot happens, if it's not just some big chaotic battle, there's going to be multiple things to do. So you kind of have a character give a set of options so that various characters can choose to do whatever task.

It's a lot more confusing when ninjas are everywhere, imo. I mean, while part of the problem is that my typing is slow and my posts are fairly long, five people posted before I managed to get my last one in, since I had to keep updating to account for the latest events, and the beginning of my post is going to look weird because half of the post is concurrent with a bunch of events I'm making Yue ignore. And of active players, Stormecho and Coroxn are going to find the RP kind of ran away without them; this'll be a bit less alarming when fewer of the posts are directly affecting them.

I don't know how the riot's going to play out, but I wouldn't be surprised if battle scenes in particular are a mess because too many things are happening at once.

Also fewer staying up because they think someone's posting even though they should really be getting to bed.

[More directly related to the actual RP, the guy shouldn't be frozen any more because I had Yue get the water off him, although I guess no one noticed? Adelé's obviously wasn't in a state to stop her, so.]
While things are at a manageable level of chaos now, if the reserves come through later, you might want to consider splitting the Neo-Equalists into groups when plotty things are going to happen.

Especially if said plotty things are involving the Avatarists. Everyone's going to be ninjaing each other and getting in everyone's way and nothing can happen.

    ... especially after midnight.
    ......
Alrighty then. Whatever suits your fancy, Yoshi.

But I'm serious. I. need. sleep. It's 2:39 in the morning where I am.

    That's. not. right.
