Hi. I have come for competitive help.
Okay, so recently I got my team analyzed at the Psypoke forums. The rater brought up a few interesting ideas for me, and a few of those I'd like to talk to you about. Y'know, since you're one of the best competitive battlers here and all that.
The firstidea? Gliscor. The rater noticed that my team has a few glaring weaknesses, especially to Ice and Electric. Then, he suggested Gliscor, recommending that I replace either Swellow or Aerodactyl. So I juet checked Gliscor out a bit. Turns out its Defense stat is 125. I go Toxic Heal, I become a physical wall. Now I also realized that Gliscor can learn every single move that my Aerodactyl knows. So yes, it could be a replacement.
But. Aerodactyl has some things Gliscor doesn't. The first: An above-average base Attack stat. The second: speed. Is it really worth sacrificong Aerodactyl for something less powerful but more bulky? What do you think?
Okay. The other thing I wanted to discuss was Mantine and Skarmory's EV's. As you probably know, I have them both on a 252 HP, 252 [stronger defensive stat], 4 [weaker defensive stat]. Now, the rater mentioned maybe balancing it out a little so that Skarm can take Special hits and Mantine can take physicals. But one of the things I like about them is how Skarm can take a T-Tar Fire Punch with >50% health left, and how Mantine can take most Thunderbolts without using its focus sash. (admittedly, that last one was pretty pointless, but.) So what do you think I ought to do?
Finally, he brought up the issue of Skarmory's item. Right now it is equipped with a Rocky Helmet, which is a real help fornwalling (opponent uses attack, I take almost half-health, I roost, opponent gets hurt), but the rater suggested I use Leftovers instead. What do you think?
