Let's see what I can crank out.
A long time ago, before the humans plagued the planet with their presence, the world was inhabited by three manners of beasts.
The mighty wolf, its fangs sharp and its eyes true. It held strength and power within its resolve.
And the most clever fox. Its intellect unrivaled throughout the land, its tail quite bushy and warming.
One day, a most strange sort of creature appeared upon the land. In a seemingly magical fashion. It was odd, unlike anything the wolves or foxes had ever seen! It was... it walked on two legs! But it had a tail... and it was flurry and bushy sort of like them.
It was what came before the humans. A catperson.
And enter Dorian and Myka, the first of this new race to tread upon the land. But they had a mission, a mission which neither of these strange beasts could know about. He and his companion was sent by the God Derfelin to perform a sacred ritual and create a being... a new kind of hairless being (humans) in the God's image.
As he travels the land, searching for the seven ingrediants (the Seven Mystical Elements: Greed, Power, Thought, Sound, Sight, Pain, and Emotion. Which all take the form of crystals, These crystals are very rare and highly prized, many foxes and wolves spend their whole lives hunting for them) needed to create this new creature, he meets with a wolf named Lighnija. At first, they are enemies. For Lighnija is part of the Greed Pack, which holds a large stash of greed crystals. She is a very insignificant member of the pack, submissive and treated like dirt. Dorian and Myka defeat her in combat and take pity upon her, deciding to let her join their quest. Lighnija only wishes to be strong and seeing their strength, she is impressed and agrees, as they tell her the god will give her great power if she helps them. She gives them their Greed crystals.
So the trio sets off! And they battle many foxes and wolves on the way, nabbing the Power, Pain, and Sound crystals in a rather long and tedious journey, fighting off the foxes and wolves. The final two elements, Thought and Emotion, are immensely difficult to find. They search and they search, but it is all in vain. Nobody, no fox nor wolf has ever caught sight of these commodities. Their very existance is myth.
Then one day they stumble upon a most mysterious sparkle. A mere sparkle in a forest... Curiously, Dorian touches the sparkling life.
And then something strange happens! The tree begins to collapse upon itself and in its place remains a hole. Cautiously, all three of them look into the hole. Wow, it sure is shiny in there! Quite shiny, for it sparkles immensely. They go into the hole, with some glimmer of hope that they'll find the crystals.
It turns out that the hole is the hiding place of a most mysterious clan of both wolves and foxes, called the Contemplators. They are an immensely mystical and completely from normal wolves and foxes, for they are all winged. Winged mysterious beings. All of the Contemplators are either white or black. As the trio soon finds out, their intelligence is unrivaled. They go deep into the den and find the leader of the Contemplators.
Xen. Xen is an immensely ancient white fox, with powers said to rival the god Derfelin. He gazes deeply at the travelers, his blue eyes piercing them. They could see much knowledge... much wisedom in them.
He speaks to them mentally, for he has psychic powers. Xen tells them that before they are to have these two elements... these elements that no other clan on the entire planet had... they must face three trials. The Trials of Courage, Intelligence, and Skill. Lighnija is nervous, lacking the confidence to participate in these trials. Xen tells them that if they do not complete the trials properly, they must leave from the planet and never return. For then he reveals that he is the god of foxes... and that he rules the pack with the black wolf, Xea. Xea is the goddess of wolves and together they keep the balance between the two species, balance and peace.
They all gasp at this revelation. Then Xea herself appears to them, explaining more of the trials. Dorian and Myka pass the Intelligence and Skill trials. But Lignija struggles with the Courage one. In it, she is to pass through the Devouring Forest, an ancient place filled with dark magic. Alone.
The trial is very difficult as she plodes through the forest, faced with all manners of terrible beings. The trees themselves seem to be watching her... knarled branches swaying oniminously in the wind. Very nearly she chickens out, but she manages to complete the trial after much difficulty, ending up facing an evil shadow of the abusive pack leader of the Greed Pack.
And so, with the trials completed, they are rewarded the crystals. The trio makes their way back to Derfelin's Realm, thinking they are to be rewarded. However the god snatches the elements from them and grins to himself... yes... yes... He reveals to them that they themselves are required to be sacrifices in the creating of his new godlike race. They all fight valliantly against him, but fail and are defeated. As Lighnija is to be slaughtered, she uses the final power in the Greed crystals....
"I curse this race, with eternal and perminant greed. May that be their greatest weakness, their greatest flaw. May it cause them eternal strife."
And so all three of them were sacrificed, but at a price. Derfelin's new race, these "humans", were cursed. Cursed with eternal unending greed. They soon spread throughout his realm, exterminating Delfelin's own catpeople. The greedy humans wanted it all! And soon they turned against their creator. Though the god fought desperately, he was soon slain. And the humans soon went down to the planet of wolves and foxes. They slewn all the Contemplators and conquered the planet, reducing the numbers of these once great creatures. Without their gods, they soon lost much of their power and intelligence, unable to fight these new creatures. And that is how the catpeople became extinct and how humans came into existance.
...Just wow is all I have to say.
