• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Don't think we did, no. Then again it appears I've forgotten like all the discussion we did pre-opening.

Also I hope you don't mind me quoting the satchet conversation in my sig
    Possibly. :D
Maybe in a week and a half, after I'm done weathering the test barrage
You can think of an arena in the meantime, if you'd like :P
"Also, we already have an item that counters Attract, and it's incredibly useless. Satchet is useful, which isn't the same thing as broken. And besides, it's probably because not that many Pokémon learn it, but I don't recall the last time I've seen someone pop Encore, even if it has happened every now and then in battles I ref."

I use it to great effect
No, the legends we had a chance of beating. The pizza will consume all. There is no hope.

... oh! That's odd, I didn't request it to be completed until now. Oh, well. Thanks anyway~
    She did?
Well that's the beauty of ASB, you can make (most of) your wackiest dreams come true :P I'm just going to dream of raining Rare Candies now.

Just edit there with rewards, we should be able to claim them and... I think only Zhorken can mess with EXP now? So I don't think you have to do anything on the web app, no.
Gosh, MF, even /I/ don't dream about ASB. As far as dreams go, though, it's oddly in character.
Now I'm gonna go ask res if it dreams about ASB

(also, could you do me a favour and close my battle with bulbulsaur? Link should be in first page of archived battles)
Man Superbird's command string keeps confusing me because it doesn't match his commands and I keep feeling like wait this isn't what I remember?! omg I can't wait. Another day of class in which I constantly refresh the forums, haha.
I do not speak Mere Falsities of this Most Futile waste of our Mental Faculties. Such Meaningless Flatulence is perhaps the greatest of Man's Follies.
Am I right in assuming that Swing Shark and Scorpicore are the former Warfare and Sub-Zeroes?
I, uh, have a question or two for you about the reffing. I put them in my main battle thread for everyone else's reference, also so you can see what I'm referring to.
well yeah, I'm saying that without antistab they become usually at least comparable (and SE is more energy-efficient than bashing heads with STAB most of the time). so just removing antistab seems fine.
they're going to be situational obviously but I don't really see anything wrong with "I have SE attacks, but they're all (low-bp) utility moves, not primary attacks, so I'm going to go ahead and FIRE BLAST" or just preferring neutral STAB you don't have SE coverage.

granted, the fact that basically every fully-evolved normal has the best STAB in the game in both special and physical form and also probably skull bash and double-edge might be a bit problematic, as well as the fact that HYDRO CANNON is almost always a good move, but I don't think that can be fixed without overhauling the bp-to-damage correspondence.
I think the problem with SE coverage vs. STAB is largely with by removing anti-STAB, actually. consider the following benchmarks: SE 90 bp coverage (probably 100% accuracy) vs 110 bp STAB (in the land of recoil, drawbacks, and lowered accuracy); SE 110 bp coverage (very common with lowered accuracy) vs 130 bp STAB (not available to all types; SE 120 bp coverage (actually sort of rare: head smash, overheat, close combat, and superpower mostly, with drawbacks) vs 150 bp STAB (except for hyper beam/giga impact, and focus punch, the elemental hyper beams have fairly poor distribution).
