• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • By the way, should I look into getting registered on the web app? I mean, I have no idea whether that's something that would help the procedures in any way or just a pointless slowdown, but let me know if it's the former.
um, I don't really do social groups... I think I've pretty much contributed all I can anyway. but whatever, I guess, I can spy on your super extreme extravaganzal plans?
I got a new DS Sunday, and since my other one crashes shortly after starting, I can't transfer my FCs. Would you mind reregistering me? My new FC is 1779-1558-9342.
Alright, I'll be on it. Depending on how merciful uni is this week I may or may not take my time with them, but I'll get them done as soon as possible.
Thanks! I didn't even realize it was appropriate to put feature requests in the GitHub issues thing, heh.
If you don't mind, I have a couple veekun feature requests (and apologies if it's not right to be spewing them at you). I figure you're in the middle of a big rewrite/upgrade anyway, so...

    1) Can we please please please get a "query returned X results" somewhere on the search results page? About 30% of the time when I'm searching for something what I want to know is how many things have that characteristic(s), not which things do, and counting manually (or c/ping to a document and wc'ing it) is a major pain.

    2) For moves, can we get searchability by target? I very often find myself wanting to get a list of attacks that hit all opponents/everyone but the user for building doubles teams and other nefarious things, and there's no easy way to do that right now.

These are both things that I ran into again over the past couple days, so I thought I would mention them...
"Nobody has any affected Pokémon, and Speed Boost and Infiltrator are better than Quick Feet and Shadow Tag anyway (at least in ASB), so I don't see any point in keeping their old hidden abilities around."

this is by the way, not totally true. infiltrator > shadow tag definitely, but unless the battle lasts at least four rounds (which, admittedly, happens frequently), the 1.5x base speed boost from quick feet is probably better than speed boost's +1/end of round.

... the venipede line just doesn't have much it can really do with speed in asb since basically the whole movepool is damage, and then uh. substitute.
I don't know if you remember that I'd been having some issues with trading between games on an emulator, but I keep getting the error message. Since you said you'd had experience with this whole situation before, I thought I'd ask you for help. What did you do?

If you guys need help with ASB, anything at all, I'd be willing to help. I'm struggling with HTML right now, but I can help in practically any other area. ^^
It's definitely a ton of work, no doubt about that. I wish I could lend a hand with the coding and all that harder stuff but I don't even know HTML, hahaha. But yeah, anything I actually can help with, I'll be glad to!
Sorry for the awfully sudden message -- specially considering that all I do here lately is lurk -- but, while it's most likely not to that stage just yet, if there's anything needed on the flavor writing parts of the ASB web app, I wouldn't mind lending a hand. In any case, best of luck with the whole thing. It'll definitely be some very appreciated work!
Hey Zhorken, now that ASB's over, who do you think is the greatest ASB player of all time? (I'm not talking about contributions - that would obviously be Negrek; I mean in terms of sheer battling skill.)
