-Round Five-

Archeon gives the nasty pokemon one last glare before melting into the shadows, quickly guiding himself to the pond. He slips into the cold depths of the waters, diving to a reasonable depth and takes a calming breath. Well…as close to a breath as a ghost could get. Psycho on the other hand growls under his breath and proceeds to follow the gremlin into the watery depths, knowing full well that his words would be mauled by the water.

But not all was lost, in Psycho’s mind as he creeps through the water toward Archeon and slips his hands into his back. Archeon thrashes in the water to try to knock the specter off to no result, feeling the larger ghost sunk further into his body and holing itself into his core. Archeon, not pleased to have a roommate, starts to collect the toxics in his body and balls it into his mouth to a point of breaking loose. Instead of releasing the poison however, he reverses the attack and allows the vile ooze slide down his throat and sink into the inside of body. He smirks as he hears the mental hissing of Psycho as the poison took the desired effect on the intruder.

Psycho continues to hiss at the poison seeped into his astral form, his very being stinging from the nasty ooze. He then starts to yell at Archeon about how he is a lousy fighter and a rat for sinking down this low to try to defend himself. Only a coward would hide in the water from a real fight and then coat himself with his own poison on the inside of his body to avoid real battle. Typical Sableye, cheating bastards!

However, since Psycho couldn't truly express his feelings, Archeon was unaffected by the attempted taunt. Psycho swims back to the shore of the pond and shakes himself off, still feeling the presence of the damned ghost within him. He noted that Psycho wasn't very chilled inside of him, so snatching wouldn't be the best idea in the world. Shruging his purple shoulders, he pats his sides to search for the stored berry he had on him before the battle. After a few minutes of searching, he found his hidden berry which had been hiding on one of the pointy parts of his head of all places, and pops it into his mouth and chews happily. He could feel his overall health strengthening for the berry goodness, a wicked smile on his dark face. He then glances at his hand and notices a familiar feeling along his fingers. He waits for Psycho to leave his body, then secretly turns his hand non-exsitant at his side.

He curls his hand into a fist and smirks. He was back in action.

Pokémon that are phased into others can't use attacks that require the use of body parts (e.g. the mouth), so I don't think Psycho would have been able to taunt Acheron before phasing out of the sableye's body. Unless you meant he taunted him some other way?
 
Really...? Huh...the first Taunt was ruined due to Archeon being in the water...*thinks it over* So logically, now that you've told me this, Archeon shouldn't be taunted at all. I'll go fix this problem now.

Not that it would have mattered, since Acheron would have just used Fake Out instead, but what's the rationale for Mean Look stopping Faint Attack but not Shadow Sneak?

Also, I'm a little uncertain about the poisoning thing. The poison was in Acheron's body - sure, it affected Psycho when he was inside that body, but how would the poison stay with him when he left? That doesn't make sense to me.
 
Well...how I see it is that Psycho entered Arch's body. He got a taste of the poison and got hurt when he was inside of his body, but he was unlucky enough to have the poison leach onto his astral form and brought the status back with him when he became visable again.

As for the shadow sneak. I was wondering that too, but decided to not argue with Negrek about it...

I'm bad at explaining these things.
 
I put the fake out option in there specifically because I didn't expect shadow sneak to work. Of the two attacks I preferred shadow sneak, which is why I listed it first so that it would be used if possible, but that doesn't mean that I thought it most likely to be successful.
 
Well, unless you think Fake Out wouldn't have had the same end result, I'm fine with it as it is.

How would poison leach into an incorporeal ghost? It's not really an energy attack, which are the only things that affect phasing ghosts. Nothing in the rules for possession seem to imply that status conditions pass over from host to possessor. Unless there's something I missed?
 
The bit about energy that the host is immune to harming the pokémon inside it; bits of Psychopomp would be in contact with the poison while it was circulating in Acheron's body and pick it up at that point. Poison isn't energy per se, but I would expect it to harm Psychopomp. It's not an issue of status conditions getting transferred (paralysis wouldn't unless the pokémon were still hooked up to an electrical current or something, burns are generally topical, and so on), but of getting the effects of something circulating within the pokémon's body.

tbh not thrilled about the taunt but it's not a huge deal to me.
 
Eh. I still don't entirely buy it, but okay.

Aaaand I just noticed something else, sorry: Psycho should have chilled during the last action, not Taunted. He was only supposed to Taunt then if Acheron had Protected or Detected on the first action.
 
From the way i read your attacks, you wanted him to Taunt Arch if he wasn'r taunted before. Thus, he tried to taunt. I call this a loop hole in one's attack plans.
 
Well done, Psycho. Now let's try something a little different. Taunt Acheron a bit - be sure to stay close and talk loudly so that covering his ears won’t help. Once that’s done, I want you to phase out and possess Acheron’s body. Then just kick back (chill) for a moment and let the little guy waste energy and/or hurt himself.

If Acheron Protects or Detects on the first action, however, Calm Mind instead. Then try to Taunt again on the next action - if he tries to Protect or Detect again, chill. After that, use Confuse Ray if Acheron is Taunted, and try to Taunt him again if not.

Taunt/Calm Mind ~ Possess Acheron/Taunt/chill ~ Chill/Confuse Ray/Taunt

The bolded section was only supposed to come into play if the non-bolded actions had been canceled out in the first place by Acheron Protecting or Detecting. He didn't do either, so the non-bolded actions should have gone through with no substitutions, regardless of the fact that he managed to avoid being Taunted at the beginning.
 
Hokay. This is starting to get a bit nasty... for the record, Chiropter, I do agree with you on the taunt thing, and upon further reflection, halfway on the toxic critique as well. This is kind of starting to get a bit out of hand; perhaps we should just call the last round a wash and rewind to the way things stood at the end of round four, then have Chiropter give commands again as though the previous round had never happened?

I realize that this may be unfair to you, Chiropter, if you still think that the commands you gave previously are the ones you'd want to use again. And moon-panther would still have to ref an extra round, though hopefully it would not be one as nasty to untangle as this situation was. Otherwise, I think this really should be re-reffed, but that would mean more sorting-out to do, and it seems like people might be getting a little angry about this round... dunno, just another alternative if you guys are interested.
 
Alright. I'll rewrite this Round, I'm doing it as we speak. I can see that I may have been mistaken, and I'm sorry for the confusion. So, please be paisent and I'll rewrite this and post it.

Psycho hisses a little from the disgusting feel of the poison’s energy, but settles himself down for a well deserved break. He starts to relax inside of Archeon and tries to find a little peace in this gremlin’s form, letting out a soft sigh as he starts to sink deeper into the desired mind frame.

Unfortunately for him though, a dark form within Archeon’s mind twists around the Dusclops’ astral form and starts to drain away the peace and regeneration of his energy. Psycho struggles against the binds, trying to break free of them so they’d stop stealing his energy until finally he slips out of Archeon’s body. He shakes himself off and looks down at the grinning gremlin in the water, hissing at him. He then notes a faint purple on his hand, a dark feeling in his gut. The poison, weak as it is, was still attacked to him.

Arch slips out of the water and shakes himself off, cracking his knuckles as he starts tp plot his next battle plans. He then notices a odd feeling through his body, as if a heavy weight has been lifted from his shoulders. He looks at his hand and watches it fade into shadows, a smirk on his face. The Mean Look was over and her could go back to his evil deeds in the shadows.

All right, Acheron, you're doing just fine. Let's finish this. Pound Psycho under with a barrage of dark pulse, ominous wind, dark pulse. Spread the attacks if you need to to take out clones. Also, if Psycho tries to phase into you or something else, shred his ethereal form to bits with an ominous wind to blow him off-course.

Bounce back status attacks back with magic coat if you can; if you're not feeling so inclined, just try and blow them back in his face with your ominous wind.

Righty then. Psycho, let's get back into the spirit of the Battle Arena: fight Acheron's offense with offense. While he's still all foresighted, get up close to him and use a Dynamicpunch. If you hit, follow it up with Façade; if you missed, try another one; and in either case, try to push him back into the pond with your attack at this point. Finish off with a Blizzard - try your best to get him Frozen (hopefully with him back in the pond so the water can freeze around him).

Both combatants stand on either side of the field, the lust for battle high in spirits. They both knew that this was the last round to prove themselves. Psycho curls his fists and glares at the gremlin before him. The fist he held to his side started to glow a odd brown color, encasing it with pure fighting spirit. Arch takes a step back, knowing that he was still able to be harmed by such attacks and starts to ready himself. Unfortunately for him though, Psycho phased quickly out of view and reappeared behind the scrambling Sableye to deliver his stunning blow to the back of Arch. Arch hisses as he draws breath back into his form, forgetting that he never really needed to breathe in the first place. He twists his body and throws his clawed hand at the offending spectre, releasing a pulse of the darkest kind into the gut of his attacker. Psycho shifts back from the blow, a deep growl in this throat. Arch smirks as he watches the spectre twist in painful ways before his eyes, followed by little stars that danced around...his...body? Arch closes his eyes and shake his head a bit, still seeing the stars wherever he looked.

Psycho, growling deeply, charges forward and grapples Arch in his large hands. He starts the beat and pummel the gremlin relentlessly, each blow followed by a grunt of pride from the spectre. Arch cries out, a loud sound erupting from his form in words of help from unseen forces. Psycho clues in to what the gremlin was doing far too late as a army of the damned appeared once more to aide Arch in battle. Psycho dropped Arch and tossed his arms in front of himself to try to weather the attack as best he could. Arch chuckles softly, getting back to his feet and looking up at the spirits. He gives them a small bow and thanks them for their help. A few of the spirits swirl around the Sableye and gives him their strength in battle so he may deliver his final attack with more power. Arch then feels a great weight lift from his shoulders, his body becoming more transparent in bright light. The wicked gremlin laughs as he returns to his true ghostly form, despite the fact that his brain was pounding against his skull.

Psycho shakes himself off, glaring at the wicked beast before him. He closes his eye and holds his hands out to his sides and begins to channel his attack. He could feel the rush of the frozen north within his body, it’s cooling breath on his shoulders. He collects that sensation within himself and blows out a cool breath to release the forces of the frozen north upon the Sableye.

Unfortunately though, the breath he blew only stirred up a few leaves and failed to do anything bit drop the temperature a few degrees. Archeon laughs at the failed attempts of the foolish spectre that messed up his final attack royally. Arch rubs the side of his head and shuts his eyes tight to try to clear his head enough to deliver his final blow. When the pressure lessens of a fraction of a second, the unforgiving gremlin collects a ball of darkness in his hand and phases out for view, only to reappear a inch from Psycho’s face. He smirks at the spectre and slams his hand flat against his chest, sending the dark energy to pulse through his system. Arch leans forward to the pained spectre and whispers in his ear.

The ref blows on her whistle to signal the end of the second set of rounds. Both trainers recall their pokemon, exchanging a few words. The ref tallies their scores so far and announces whom will send out their new pokemon first.

Um... Acheron should have been Confused by the Dynamicpunch. Also, what do you mean by Blizzard "failing"? Do you mean it missed entirely, or did it just not successfully freeze Acheron?
