[11] ultraviolet vs Crazy Linoone

Ah well, might as well.

Rifleman, since you can't move, we might as well as keep your opponents away from you, yes? You're still under the effects of Focus Energy, so hopefully confusion won't kick in. Let's start off by using Psychic to pick up the little fighting rodent thing to get it far away from you so that it can't reach you with its physical attacks. If you can continuously use Psychic for three actions without dropping the meinfoo in between, do so--smash the meinfoo into some heavy storage boxes/ice blocks/ladders that are far away from you so that it will be trapped underneath a heavy load of stuff if your Psychic gives out due to confusion or whatnot. Make sure to drag the meinfoo through the puddle of Toxic to poison it while you're at it. As long as you hold the meinfoo far away from you, the Knock Off and Facades shouldn't be able to reach you.

If you can't continuously use Psychic and must drop it between actions, instead just use Psychic to smash the meinfoo into all the random heavy storage boxes and ice blocks around here to knock them over and bury the meinfoo underneath during the first action. You can also try to stuff it between the rungs of a ladder if you can't do the above or if the boxes are too light.

No matter which choices you make, make sure that the meinfoo is immobilized, or at least severely hindered from using physical moves! Also make sure that you keep the meinfoo far away from you so that it can't reach you with its physical attacks.

If there are no boxes/ladders/whatnot around here for some absurd reason, just smash the meinfoo's head against the ground and fling it as far away from you as you possibly can with Psychic. Don't poison it in this case.

For the second action, if the meinfoo is not immobilized (from your Psychic or getting trapped underneath some heavy boxes/in a ladder/whatever) and had Knocked Off your item, use Psychic to pick up that meinfoo and use it to sweep your Scope Lens back within reach so you can pick it back up later. You can go ahead and damage the meinfoo by smashing its head against the ground while you're at it.

For the second action, if you've failed to immobilize the meinfoo and it attempts to use Facade, might as well as Thunder Wave it.

If, during the second action, you are not continuously holding it away from you with Psychic and you've successfully immobilized the meinfoo with boxes/ladders/stuff so it wasn't able to attack you, go ahead and use Psychic to pick up the Toxic blob on the ground and slather it on the meinfoo (do it violently, of course, so you can hurt it with the Psychic).

For the third action, rinse and repeat. Use Psychic to dump more stuff on it to keep it immobilized (if you're not already holding it in away from you with a continuous Psychic). I say go for one of the huge metal storage containers and trap the meinfoo underneath. If that's too big for you to handle (they're not that big... Wailords are bigger), or if they're all bolted to the ground so you can't pick it up or something, use Charles Negrek ultraviolet more of those large ice blocks piled up all over the cold storage.

If you're ever too confused or paralyzed to use attacks, Chill, try to get your wits back, and pray to the RNGods. You can't move around due to Telekinesis, so you probably can't hurt yourself.

While Rifleman burbles nonsense and blows idle bubbles, Warfare hangs limply in the air, eyes dim red sparks as it tries to recover from the exertion of releasing its last attack. A call from its trainer causes it to perk up; ultraviolet tells it to come back and make way for its teammate to take the field. The metang, grateful at the chance to rest, zooms hurriedly to the sidelines while Chiomara bounds in to take its place. The mienfoo strikes an aggressive pose, chirping a challenge at his opponent. The response isn't very satisfying; Rifleman is still trying to focus on her opponent through the haze of confusion and only makes a pathetic sort of gurgling.

Rifleman just tries to relax, though the discomfort of stiff, cramping muscles and the haze of confusion makes it difficult. She's certainly in no shape to be trying anything mentally taxing just this moment. She can't even flinch when Chiomara darts towards her, one paw extended. In the end, the powerful blow the remoraid had been fearing doesn't come; the mienfoo does nothing but swat away her scope lens, the targeting gadget clattering to the ground a couple of feet away and skidding on the icy floor. Chiomara bounces back a pace, grinning.

Rifleman glowers at her opponent. Irritation serves to sharpen her mind just the slightest bit, and the remoraid finds herself able to tap into her psychic abilities at last, her eyes glowing blue. Chiomara's smile fades as a similar blue glow outlines her as well, and a moment later she's jerked off her feet and hurled into a nearby stack of packing crates. The whole pile shakes as the mienfoo is flung up against it, and a couple of boxes tumble off the top and onto Chiomara, hiding her from view.

Rifleman lets go of her psychic, more than a little pleased. It only gets better as the telekinesis holding her in place fails. She drops back to the floor with a fishy smack, still having some difficulty moving thanks to her paralysis and the lack of water, but at least no longer totally helpless.

As it turns out, though, Chiomara is far from out of the picture. She lies where she is for a moment, stunned but not badly hurt, but then starts cooking up her next attack just where she lies. Blue energy glows between the mienfoo's hands as she draws in aura, creating a canteloupe-sized ball of fighting power. The mienfoo spreads her hands apart and lets the attack fly; it smashes through one of the crates atop Chiomara, scattering Ragecandybars in all directions, and keeps on going. It slams into Rifleman, sending her skidding in the opposite direction of her scope lens.

Rifleman is rather annoyed that her opponent doesn't seem to want to stay down, but if two crates didn't do the trick, the best thing to try is more stuff. Lifting one of the shipping containers is out of the question, but there are plenty of boxes lying about, and Rifleman is quick to recruit them with her psychic powers. The boxes rain down over Chiomara, trapping her in the midst of an impressive heap of exports.

- The damage from Rifleman's psychics was reduced because they were being used for telekinetic purposes.

If you can hit the Meinfoo with Soak, go ahead and Soak it. Otherwise, now'd be a good time to Rest.

Action 2, if you're asleep, Chill. If you haven't Rested and can do so, Rest.

On action 3, if you're asleep, Chill. Soak if you're awake, the Meinfoo hasn't been Soaked yet (or if the first Soak failed for whatever reason), and that the Meinfoo can be soaked. Otherwise, Chill if you can't Soak for whatever reason.

If you are Taunted, go ahead and Psychic the Meinfoo's brains out (this means mental intrusion Psychic), or, if the Meinfoo is starting to escape its prison of crates, crush it under more crates with Psychic.

Lazy commands are lazy.

Use Strength to get yourself out of there, then quickly use Smellingsalt before Rifleman rests - if she's already resting, stand at point-blank range and use Focus Blast, and again on the last action.

If you don't think you can get out of the crates, use Aura Sphere to break them until you can - they're all going to home in on Rifleman anyway. Default to original commands once you're out.

In the cramped dark under the packing crates, Chiomara fumes. Does Rifleman honestly think a few boxes are going to put her out of comission? She's a renown martial artist--that fish has got to be kidding. Although her present position doesn't provide much leverage, sheer strength allows Chiomara to start pushing the pile off herself. Once she's able to rise to a crouch, she can work much faster, smashing apart boxes or shoving them aside whole until at last she's cleared a path up through the pile. The mienfoo steps free of the wreckage, contemptuously brushes a few splinters from her fur, and is promptly buried again when Rifleman scoops up more cartons with her mind and heaps them atop Chiomara.

Chiomara stares sourly at the logo stamped on the box two inches from her nose. Well, that didn't quite work. For now, she'll just have to try attacking from where she is. A blue glow illuminates the dimness as she manages to bring her hands together, summoning the power of aura. A large orb of fighting energy smashes its way through the boxes and shoots unerringly into Rifleman, who lets out a weary squeak as it hits home.

The remoraid is weak and still a little addled; she wants nothing more than a break. When Chiomara doesn't come climbing out of the hole her aura sphere created, Rifleman decides it's a good enough time as any to get some rest. The fish's eyes close, and within moments she's breathing deeply, plunged into a healing trance. Her paralysis vanishes rapidly, the tension in her body fading, and before long the various other scrapes and bruises she's acquired begin to disappear. Another aura sphere cruises in for a direct hit, but Chiomara doesn't even flinch, totally relaxed as she bends all her energies towards restoring her health.

Right well since you can escape now and rifleman's asleep, head on over there and Drain Punch her energy; you don't need it but she does and hey: it's there for the taking. Keep... doing that unless she throws boxes on you again, in which case use strength to get out, then go back to drain punch. If rifleman has been replaced by another pokemon, retreat to your box pile (if you can) and fire aura spheres.

Drain Punch/Strength/Aura Sphere x3

also chiomara appears to have not lost any energy. I'm okay with this but I'm sure this isn't intentional.

Annnd this round teaches me to be more precise with commands and teaches me that I should make sure my commands actually say what I mean and can't be misinterpreted :p

Oh well. Now begins your death struggles, Rifleman! Chill first, then, after you wake up, Soak that little fighting mouse thing. It should be pretty close to you to Drain Punch, so you probably don't need to move around to hit it. If you're too confused to Soak or can't use Soak for whatever reason, Chill instead.

On the third action, if you haven't Soaked yet or if the first one failed for whatever reason, Soak again. If Soak worked and you're still alive for some reason, uhhhh Bullet Seed. If you haven't Soaked yet but don't have enough energy left to Soak, just sort of waste your energy. Flail around a bit and try to whack the meinfoo or something. Make sure to use up all your energy and faint at the end of the round! If you need to flail around somewhat, please do so! You've done well.

Chiomara's two aura spheres have left her with a clear line of sight to her opponent. Ragged holes through the sides of crates mark their passage, and the Mienfoo struggles her way through them, swimming through waves of liberated packing peanuts and shoving aside damaged merchandise as she goes. Once out in the clear air again, she takes a moment to brush herself off and regain her composure--and then dives at Rifleman, fist glowing gold. A downwards drain punch smashes the fish into the floor, and as Chiomara draws her hand back again, thick ropes of energy peel away from Rifleman's scales. The remoraid shudders, tail smacking fitfully against the floor, then is still, her vitality utterly spent.

wait, am I attacking first again? or should Crazy Linoone be sending out and attacking?

You attack first again. I always arrange it so that when a person's pokémon is knocked out, they attack second in the following round.

right-o.

since Heinkel should be slipping around on the ice for the first action, use that opportunity to go ahead and Toxic (preferably in the face/eyes if you can reach?); if Heinkel isn't slipping around (I forget if it applies to switching in after a KO), Aura Sphere - shoot from a range if it's safer, it can't miss. If Heinkel uses Outrage, use Bounce to avoid. Try and keep out of range of the crate tower in case Heinkel tries to topple it with EQ or something.

Toxic/Aura Sphere/Bounce ~ Aura Sphere/Bounce ~ Aura Sphere/Bounce

Bleh, too lazy to look up the rules so I don't know if you'd be slipping around on the first action or not.

Since you're faster, Dragon Claw and grab that Meinfoo from behind, then hold on. Keep that Meinfoo facing away from you at all times--bear hug it if you need to. Since Meinfoo aren't owls and thus can't turn their head completely around, if you're not slipping on action 1, you should be able to evade the Toxic.

On action two, Dragon Claw and grab the Meinfoo from behind (same as action 1) if you haven't done so yet. If you've already grabbed on to the Meinfoo, Dragon Rush...Dragon Tackle...Dragon Body Slam? it into the ground if you can do so at such a range without letting the meinfoo escape your hold, and if you can't, just Dragon Claw and hold on tighter. Once you've grabbed the Meinfoo, try to use it to swat away any Aura Spheres flying your way--if the Meinfoo is facing away from you, you should have a bit of time to do this since the Aura Sphere needs to turn around and fly towards you.

Rinse and repeat for Action 3. Dragon Claw and grab the Meinfoo from behind (same as action 1) if you haven't done so yet. If you've already grabbed on to the Meinfoo, Dragon Rush...Dragon Tackle...Dragon Body Slam? it into the ground if you can do so at such a range without letting the meinfoo escape your hold, and if you can't, just Dragon Claw and hold on tighter. Heinkel lets out a low growl as he sees his teammate fall, while across the arena, Gwenfair roars and punches the air with a fist. Neither Death Canyon nor Warfare appear to care much, the artificial pokemon not being given to expressing much in the way of emotions. Chiomara permits herself a moment of smugness as her former opponent dissolves in a burst of red energy, but it doesn't last long. Heinkel is ordered onto the field a moment later, and the gabite rushes forward with frightful eagerness, skidding on the ice but regaining his footing quickly enough. Chiomara isn't feeling so confident now that she's facing a dragon fresh from the sidelines, but she's not done for yet. Raising her fists, the mienfoo gets ready to go another round.

As it turns out, though, Heinkel is quicker on the uptake. The gabite lunges, one claw-tipped arm fizzing with fiery energy, and hooks Chiomara with a dragon claw in passing. Not only does the attack dig painfully into the mienfoo's side, but Heinkel drags Chiomara in close, wrapping both arms around her torso and holding her tight.

There's no way Chiomara would be able to spit a toxic from such a position, but fortunately for the mienfoo, an aura sphere doesn't need much in the way of aiming. The mienfoo conjures the attack with one hand, Heinkel watching nervously as the ball of blue light grows larger. When Chiomara releases the attack, it flies straight up and back, slamming into Heinkel's chin.

The dragon's head snaps back, and Heinkel lets out a wheeze of surprise. He manages to retain his hold on Chiomara, though, and shakes his head to clear it. With a snarl of irritation, he decides he's had quite enough of that. Making sure of his hold on Chiomara, he starts a mad dash across the arena, just barely managing to keep his footing on the ice as he runs.

That's no thanks to the mienfoo, who wriggles and struggles in his grip, her feet skidding around on the ice as she tries to resist Heinkel's charge. The dragon rush overcomes her attempts, however, and blue and purple flames flicker over Heinkel's scales as the attack reaches full power. The gabite hurls himself into the air and lands in a skidding belly-flop, Chiomara pinned beneath his weight.

The mienfoo grits her teeth against the pain as she is ground across the ice by the dragon rush, and, after sliding to a halt, sets about trying to get free of Heinkel's grasp. One undignified scuffle later, the dragon has managed to keep the mienfoo from escaping entirely, but Chiomara has gotten one hand free. That's enough to call up another aura sphere that rebounds into Heinkel's face and slip out of his grasp while he's dazed.

The mienfoo scrambles to put a bit of space between herself and Heinkel, by now really starting to feel her injuries. Two aura spheres in, the gabite isn't looking all that great himself, but he's back on his feet nearly as fast. To Chiomara's irritation and dismay, his play is to simply grab hold with another dragon claw, putting the mienfoo more or less right back where she started. With an exasperated sigh, Chiomara summons another aura sphere and sends it back to slam her opponent in the face. It's satisfying to hear Heinkel's grunt of pain, but Chiomara is forced to face facts--she's starting to flag, and if she doesn't come up with a new plan soon she won't be taking the gabite down with her.
