Date Format - How do you change it?

I'm English, so I prefer the date differently. The American way is MMDDYYYY, but I'd like it DDMMYYYY. Is there any way to change this?
 
Not at the moment, no. I could look around for a hack for it, I suppose, if you really wanted one; it probably exists.
 
Yeah, I prefer DDMMYYYY as well. I'm used to it so much that I get confused that if it was 11/23/2008 I'd be like, WHAT MONTHS ONLY GO UP TO TWELVE, NOT TWENTY THREE!...before realising that it was MMDDYYYY.
 
This also makes sense since time of day goes from biggest unit down (hour-minute-second).
