Open Era of Escape II

What seemed like hours Later, Adam woke up.

"Ugh....where am I now? What time is it, mama?...... Oh, wait....! "
He jumped awake, and remembered he was in a cell, seperated from his pokemon, chained to a wall, and generally feeling horrible.

"Crap. That's what this is, a load of freakin' crap."

Focus, Adam, focus. he thought to himself. What did you learn in school? Every problem has a solution, no matter how impossible it seems. He looked around his cell, but saw nothing to help him.

"If only some of my friends were here, I know they could help me out... Wait, that's it!"
and then he remembered an old trick he had learned in school, from his close friends, Micheal and Martin.

*Flashback*

"You see... the trick is, you twist your hand like...this" Martin said, "And then you just lift up, and...voila! Out of the handcuffs."

Micheal was skeptical. "How do I know that those handcuffs weren't unlocked from the beginning?"

"Well... Adam! Come over here."

Adam walked over, and did what Martin told him. Sure enough, he was out.

"See?" asked Martin.

*End Flashback*

Now, he knew the chains were different than handcuffs, but if he could try the trick with these.....

He began to struggle against the hard iron rings that were around his hands.

Azurra was free now, and Angel started on Jax next. "Hang on a second here... there we go." soon that fell away too, and she was on to Vera.

"Alright... I think I have a plan." Azurra coughed, "Jax, you take a hairpin and let out these other two... and you," she pointed at Vera, "When the guard comes looking... take him down. You look strong after all... those are farmer's muscles..."

"Yes'm." Vera nodded as she too was freed.

"Then you..." her hand moved to Angel, "And Jax... take away his keys and his taser and help free the rest of the prisoners..."

"Yes, ma'am."

And all the while, the sounds of the guard checking the cells drew closer...

Jason's bad leg had gone from mildly painful to painful to the point of he could barely move it. He once again turned his head to look at the other person in his cell, who was now saying something about hitting another occupant. Only then did Jason decide to speak up:

"Uh, if you are going to hit me, can you just not hit either of my legs? One of them is... crippled, you see."

He started to say more, but another stab of pain went through his bad leg. They were getting worse, and unless he could actually move his entire body, his leg would be in all the more pain.

Supay always eased the pain, he thought, where did they take him? Why did they take them?

No, It's obvious why, he knew, they wanted to ensure that we had nothing to defend ourselves with. But what is this all about in the first place?

Still struggling against the chains, Adam was having no luck.

"What the hell is this stuff made of?" he mumbled to himself. He continued struggling, and found that his hand was beggining to move.

"YES!!" he said in a hushed whisper. He was nearly out of these stupid chains!

But he paniced when he heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hall, and stoping directly outside the door of his cell.

Salene sighed as people, one by one, were being released from their chans. She then heard footprints drawing edgingly closer. She sucked in a breath, almost like a gasp, barely audiable, and her eyes kept darting to the door, so she could hint. Please pick up the hint...

Mike groaned. This was getting boring, fast. He noticed someone was helping everone else get out. "Hey, when you're done with them could you help me?" He called weakly.

Adam listened carefully, and the door opened. A guard peeked in, and yelled, "You scum are pathetic. PATHETIC! You just sit in here crying, while your demise draws ever closer. It makes me want to laugh. HA!" And the door slammed shut.

Adam continued to work on the chains. It was really starting to hurt his hands....

*POP* *CLANK*

He had gotten one of his hands free! He was almost out of this accursed place!

Rob woke up slumped against a cold, stone wall, with a dull headache behind his eyes. He didn't remember being knocked out -- was it when the police bastards with no fashion sense tried to arrest him? Rob was pretty sure he was on good terms with the police at Goldenrod; they've always turned a blind eye to him, so what the hell was he doing in a jail cell? Rob raised a hand to rub his throbbing head, and something clashed horribly. Annnd he's chained to the ground with some ridiculous medieval-looking handcuffs. "Fuckin' Mother of Arceus," he muttered.

There were people shouting nearby, probably locked in the other cells. A few police patrols moped around outside, but the place looked like a regular jail. So what was he doing here? You don't jail homeless people; you send them off to shelters and hope they never show up again. And Rob hadn't stolen anything for months. Unless the police mistook him for someone...? All hobos look alike, more or less. Rob sighed and leaned his head back against the wall, taking a glance around at his fellow jail mates. There was a crippled boy who looked like he was dying from pain, a crazy girl who really needs to shut her trap, and another boy sprawled on the ground, half dead or asleep (it's always hard to tell, especially if they were doing drugs). Rob's guessing that the boy is a liar and a thief who uses his fake crippled leg to earn empathy (and money) from old women, the other boy's probably a druggie or a drug dealer (why else would he be passed out?), and the girl's in for... murder or something. She seems crazy enough.

Rob decided to start a conversation, to lighten up the mood. "Kid," he addressed to the crazy girl, "if you wanna hit someone, hit the unconscious one instead. He probably needs it."

Jax positioned herself to the left of the doorway, so she wouldn't be spotted. She gave a knowing smirk to Vera.

-----------

"I will not hit him until I know what side he is on." Skye said, brushing a lock of hair out of her face, "Whether he believes Lance's lies or not."

Skye turned her head to Rob.

"What side are you on?" Skye said.

Spike groaned as he turned onto his bottom and sat up. The Trainer-induced sedatives were finally starting to go away, and he got a good view of the cage he was in for the first time. There were four others inside, all covered in chains. Some were talking with each other, but overall it was just a dark, gloomy scene. He already knew he had chains around his wrists and ankles... he could feel their weights holding him down, draining his strength. After lifting them a little, he could see that the chains all came together at a ring chained to the floor. The others in the room also appeared tied to the ground. Someone was behind this, but who? And why was he targeted?

Spike made a quick check and noticed his Pokémon were missing... great, it figured. He could only hope he'd be reunited with them when all this was settled. He shook his head... this had to be some misunderstanding. He didn't have any connections to any societies, no history of trouble. There wasn't any use getting mad about it all... he figured this all would be settled soon.

In the meantime, he might as well learn more about what's going on... who he was put in with and what their deal was. Spike looked up and faced the others, sitting back, his hands supporting himself. "Hey guys... what's going on here?" he suddenly asked.

Adam kept working, and he finally freed his hands. He nearly screamed in joy, until he noticed that his ankles were tied down as well. He was about to begin working on the ankle chains, when someone suddenly asked: "Hey guys... what's going on here?"

Adam looked up, and saw that the man who had been tossed in by the guard had awoken.

Adam responded sarcastically, "We're all in happy-rainbow land." he continued."Look around. In case it isn't obvious, we're all trapped in a cell, stripped of our pokemon and tied to the floor."

He then whispered, so only that the other prisoner could hear,

"And I've got my hands untied, so if you could try and make sure to warn me when the guard comes, I can make it look llike I'm still tied down. We don't want any of them suspicious while we're trying to get out."

He then sat up, and continued to work on the stupid chains, which were now the bane of his existence. They needed to go. Now.

Mike sighed. The person who was freeing everyone was taking their time. He swung his arm around to stretch it....Wait, what? He looked at his arm. The chains had dropped off. "Looks like the chain wasn't on properly." He sat down on a small bump on the ground, where all of the chains linked to, and began to fiddle with his chain. "Whadda you think, Free?....Oh, right, Free isn't here. Gotta break out first, then find Free and the others." He tried, but the chain was locked tight.
"Hm...if only I had my Pokédex Stylus with me..." And then he realised he did. He quickly drew it from his pocket, throwing a cautious glance at the door. He used the small Stylus to wiggle the chain loose, and it came undone.
"YESSSSS! Free at last...now, I best help the others." He looked around. "Is anybody here strong enough to take out that guard?" Mike asked. "I'll get you free first."
