Fencing

Flazeah

Cloud eight-and-three-fifths
I started fencing five weeks ago yesterday, and it's awesome, and I love it. I'm determined to get much better, but even when you're beginning, it's so much fun. The club seems really nice - the session I go to is at a leisure and sports centre - and hee, I just love it. It's great wearing the fencing gear, and it's so interesting. I've been spending loads of my free periods at school recently looking up stuff about fencing, trying to learn about moves and terminology.

Plus, um. I have a crush on one of the coaches. >.> She's so cute. >.<

I'm still wondering whether you mean fencing with swords or fencing as in the practice of making little barriers from wood. o.o

...kidding, don't stab me. Glad you enjoy your ruthless violent swordplay in the innocence of a sporting context. ;3

Ah, fencing! I did it once as a kid on this school trip...it was awesome ^_^ It's great that you found a club that you really enjoy ^_^

Fencing has to be fun, because sword fighting is fun. I was going to do it but I got distracted.
Must go back to the re-enactment society.

Anyway, enjoy it.

I've always wanted to study some form of fighting. :D
...not because I'm violent. XD They look so interesting!

Good luck! Sounds like fun~

Fencing is quite fun, my mother tells me (she used to do fencing when she was in university college). Personally, though, I've been a little skeptical ever since I found out that it's nothing like sword fighting in movies...

I did fencing for a few weeks at school. It was such an unpopular sport that by the end of it, there was only two of us still going to the fencing lessons.

A pity, really. Even if it isn't quite anime-style swordplay, it's still quite a graceful art and a good physical discipline. I'd have loved to continue learning to fence. *sigh*

Fenciiiiing~ I love it :D

I've been doing fencing for, uh, about three months now and I love it. It's such a good physical workout and you have to focus on so many things and change strategies depending on whether you're using foil, epe or sabre and the size, technique and handedness of your opponent - and lefties have a massive advantage over right-handed people :D

The only downside is that the outfits (at least, the ones we use) really, really smell because they're only washed once a year ><

Stick with it - we'll see you in the 2012 Olympics :D

From what Danni says, I'd be a really good fencer~ You're lucky, I wanted to take fencing, but nooo....

Too bad it isn't anime-style swordplay.

Then everyone would take lessons.
