• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

GSC Remakes confirmed?

Scizor King

I liked Scizor before Scizor was cool
Serebii- "CoroCoro has revealed further Movie 12 news. First, it notes the expected inclusion of Arceus into the movie's title; Arceus - Towards the Overcome's Space-Time. It also shows the inclusion of Heatran into the movie as well as the surprise inclusion of the three Johto Starters; Chikorita, Cyndaquil & Totodile. Whether this has any special further meaning is unknown, but when more info comes out, we'll add it here."

Pokebeach- "And yet two more CoroCoro images! The pages reveal that the movie title has been updated with the Alpha Pokemon: "Arceus - To the Conquering of Space-Time." More importantly, we now know Heatran will have an actual role in the movie as well as Chikoria, Totodile, and Cyndaquil. I wonder if the Johto starters and the "Pokemon game" mentioned on last night's CoroCoro page have any sort of connection (if it's not referring to the upcoming Mystery Dungeon game, that is)... possibly a strong hint of a Gold and Silver remake? A Johto-themed Mystery Dungeon game? Speculation, of course, but we'll see! Why else would they stick four Gold and Silver Pokemon into the movie? It could be for "no reason," but we all know the Pokemon anime is always an elaborate advertisement for the games."

Discuss the awesomeness that is a GSC Remake.

Gold and Silver were pretty much the only Pokemon games I actually loved, so if this is true I will murder someone to obtain them.

Oh god, if thee are real and the game is going to come out...WOOT! GSC was probably the best games in terms of storyline and things~

Let's not get ahead of ourselves and call it "confirmed", but this is definitely the most concrete evidence for a possible Johto remake to come out so far.

They were never my favorite Pokémon games, but if remakes are coming, they will probably be fairly epic just the same. :D I just really hope they fix Kanto!

Gold, Silver and Crystal were the best Pokemon games ever invented. I really hope that they remake the games.

Yes, you are. This would be the best game DS and the best pokemon game by far.

From the game makers' point of view, would you rather remake old projects all over again, or move onto new projects?

They have no real reason to make these games, it will just get them money, and approval from fans. There won't be any heart and soul put into this.

There are other things businesses want, you mean?

Being into an art or industry for the sake of it is all well and good, but really, let's not get all idealistic here. You do what sells and doesn't get you lynched. And depending on what you mean by "heart and soul", you don't know that they won't find ways to really improve it.

Given that most people seem to think that they're running out of good ideas anyway and will only continue to churn out "crap like RSE/DP", why not attempt to breathe a little new life into something that they know worked?

Eh, sure, I'd like to see them remade, as long as they *do* make an effort to do the best possible work they can.

If I worked for Game Freak, I would rather be remaking old work that means something dear to me, especially if I knew that fans were enthusiastic about it, than working on the fifth generation (which would mostly be a matter of plugging new variables into the same formula) any day. :/ Personally, if anything, I'd say FireRed and LeafGreen have the most heart and soul put into them of all the recent Pokémon games.

I loved Fr/Lg and I've been waiting foor a G/S/C remake ever since Fr/Lg.
In the remake, wouldn't it be strange if the Orange Islands popped up instead of thhe Sevii Islands?

EDIT: 50 posts...how?

I would love it. I am totally looking for a chance to remake my old team. =D

I got Crystal like a week ago, and it's my favorite Pokemon game now. NINTENDO MUST MAKE A GSC REMAKE!

I loved the games especially because there's two regions, and it's cooler that way. Plus, they should include Orange and Sevii Islands, like what Rossymore said.

And if they made a fifth generation, It'd be cool, but I think that 500ish Pokemon are enough. It'd be way too hard to catch like 700 Pokemon, and would probably get boring after the first 400 or so.

We need a remake. Johto is the only region whose games you can't play on the DS(GBA counts as "playable on DS") Plus, people's GSC games' internal batteries are dying like crazy, so they have no reason not to make a new one.

Please, PLEASE keep the day-specific events! And keep the new non-plot things that came in Crystal but that wasn't in Gold and Silver(I believe the Odd Egg and Buena's Password game wasn't in Gold/Silver? I've only had Crystal so I'm not sure). Keep the "write your own text" system, and for the love of Arceus, KEEP THE PROTAGONISTS!
