give me a good one!

and don't ask "what genre?" because we're like a newly formed, not at all serious, just 5 guys having a good time, garage band with one original song. we don't actually have a genre yet. and besides, even if we did, I'm of the opinion that the best band names are the kind that don't fit your style of music at all. :)


the names we are considering so far are:

merle
disco jesus and the funky young gentlemen
disco jesus and the disciples of funk
smoothieheads (this name sucks)
the rub rabbits
ramen (this is a "take the first letter of the band members names" style band name)


please give me something creative and awesome! oh, and not monkeycheese style randomness. "chicken ninja fish pie!!!1!!111!1" is not a good band name ;)

edit: I know the last line is a bit hypocritical. that's why we might not use these names. :P

..yes, if you read some, you'll notice that i just gave you the names of books for the first four. the others.. eh. i considered using the fifth one as an alias for myself if i ever write my own original songs.

of the list, i definitely like the rub rabbits best.

off-topic, but if you don't mind my asking, what music does the band listen to? what are your favorite bands as a group?
 
3/5 of the band listens to bland, radio-friendly rock like U2, coldplay, the killers, red hot chili peppers, etc. however, I don't think any of them really want to play that kind of stuff, they would rather just listen to it. :|

1/5 of the band likes metal like Metallica, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Slayer, Lamb of God etc.

1/5 of the band (me!) likes... well, my favorite bands are Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, The Flaming Lips, Of Montreal, Opeth, Sigur Ros, Animal Collective... other stuff...

so, as you can see, we're a bit of an odd bunch...

btw I like your names. good stuff.
 
The problem with Ramen is that it's too much like Fueled by Ramen, which we would rather just not be associated with at all... :P

And it also just kind of leaves you hanging. "Hey guys, we're Ramen." Ramen what?

Love Dodecahedron, The Last DJ, Mind Screw (although it would probably be better as Mindscrew), and Projected Man are all pretty good.

The reason I added that bit about no monkeycheese is because of the last "suggest a band name" topic being filled with people suggesting this name. Plus iirc it's stolen from Homestar Runner so there is most likely already a band named this. :|
