Open Increasing Enemies

Valkyrie looked down smugly, at the town. What? A hawk owl was perched on the building below, on the only building she'd ever actually claimed, and where she went if she wanted to go morph. On her territory.
<Prey-stealer, territory-snatcher,> she screeched at it, knowing (and hoping it couldn't understand. Now Valkyrie actually screeched, and dived with her talons first at the building beside it, hoping to scare it off.
((Joo crazi territorial kestrels >:3))

As Sakkaku neared a town he noticed two birds in a strange-looking building, one of which was an owl like him. He didn't know why they were there, so he just circled overhead and watched the kestrel swoop upon the hawk owl.

((Sorry, I haven't read Animorphs in forever DX))

Suddenly heading out again, Amber flew up into the sky, but stayed in the cover of the trees. The center of the town was nearby. It took a while, but she glided among the branches, maneuvering so that she didn't hit the trunks. As she neared the town, she perched on a branch at the edge of the trees that overlooked it.

That was interesting. Three other birds...

She drifted down to the ground and behind a tree, becoming human and then fox. With that, she looked over and watched the birds.

((Oh yeah. How many times do I have to say that AMBER IS NOT AN ANDALITE!

Mysti heard thought-speak and saw a kestrel fly down at her. <AAAHHHHHHHHHH!> she screamed in thought-speak at the kestrel, knowing it wouldn't understand, unless it was the tought-speaker, and jumped out of the way.

Valkyrie stopped almost in midair, grabbing the edge of the building and pulling herself onto the roof.
<What,> she thought-spoke, looking at the hawk owl. Did it just thought-speak? Or do birds talk when I'm in kestrel form? Valkyrie glared at the owl, noticing the clock across the street. <Oh, shit.> Was it an hour and fifty-five minutes since she left the ravine, already? Looking at the hawk owl, she clacked her beak.
If that's just a hawk owl...
Who hasn't flown away yet, yeah, right. It's a Yurk something or other.
It's a hawk owl. Seriously.
You're going to regret this.
Whatever.

Valkyrie clacked her beak one more time, deciding she probably would take a few minutes to change, and started to shift. If it was just a hawk owl it'd forget soon, or fly away...

As the kestrel started to change, Sakkaku noticed it was another morph. He knew it was safe to be a person again, but he wanted to investigate her a bit longer.

Changing his gaze, he swooped down to the hawk owl and started circling her curiously and without a bit of hostility.

Curiously, Amber padded out a bit further, but was still intent on hiding her tan pelt. For a moment, she dashed behind a clump of undergrowth, but was almost sure the birds had spotted her. Still, she attempted to hide. They seemed friendly enough. But then she noticed at least one was another morph. Interesting...

<... Oh. My. Gosh.> Mysti thought-spoke as she watched the kestrel change. She swooped down, went behind a pole, and morphed back into human, too.

((And in the future, Dragon, don't timemod))

((I needed a plot device..? DD:))
Valkyrie winced. The hawk owl thought-spoke again.. so it was either a Yurk thing somehow, or.. it could morph? She stood up on the roof, brushed the legs of her wetsuit down, and looked over the side of the building. Fairly high up...
"Hey," she yelled down at the owl, or Yeerk, or person. "I know what you are," she yelled. "Might as well show yourself."
Do you really know what it is?
Oh, shut up.

((Yay voice in the head~))

Markhali switched his television off and galloped over to the edge of the forest. Gripping his weak arms around a tree, the andalite brought the image of the brown-haired human adolescent to his mind.

Almost immeadiately, Markhali's back legs slurped into his body, quickly followed by the back of his lower body. Bracing himself against the tree, Markhali saw his bluish fur change into smaller, thinner hairs. The vision in his stalk eyes deadened, and the stalks themselves quickly dissapeared. Markhali's ears slid up on his head as his face lengthened and split, forming the mouth that was so common on this planet.

After several more minutes of change, a small flying fox glided out of the forest, towards the nearest Burger King.

About an hour later, a male adolescent human walked out of the resturant, biting into the human delicacy called a double cheeseburger. The brown-haired youth approached his favorite part of the human settlement, an open building where no one seemed to live. Markhali turned into the building, and sat down on one of the seats that humans were so fond of. Who could blame them? Walking like a human was so complicated. Taking a sip of his soda, Markhali glanced up and noticed several Earth birds.

((I never understood something. If age isn't part of DNA, wouldn't people who morphed come out at the wrong age?))

Wow, this is tiring...

Phil had flown enough times to know about the wonders of thermals, and how they were unfortunately not present at night. He looked around for a place to rest...and came across an open-walled building. Perfect!

Then he noticed the multitude of owls and other birds of prey that had the same idea he did.

Oh wow...well, they don't usually go after crows...right? Either way, it was worth the risk, as he was tiring quickly. He glided in and tried to find a perch.

Sakkaku looked down. He wasn't hungry for more birds. Since these guys were morphs, it seemed safe to change back, but right now he just wanted to fly around a bit more.

Finishing off his large amount of Earth delicacies, Markhali stood up and walked over to one of the walls. Pulling off his Earth clothing, Markhali started to demorph, stalk eyes sprouting quickly from his head.

((Anyone care to notice?))

Mysti looked over and saw a creature that looked like the one who gave her the morphing powers. She walked over to it. "H-hi, I'm Mysti."

Human! thought Markhali, panicking. His cover was blown!

<Human, do not approach me, or I shall... umm...>
What could he do?
<Why are you not afraid, human?>

((Wut, just ignore the crazy human in a wetsuit on the roof yelling at you >_<))
Valkyrie looked down at the girl, a human, who was the hawk owl a few minutes ago move from behind the pole.
"Aha! I kn-" She shut up. The girl walked over to.. an Andalite? What? She bent down and watched what was happening.

"Because of this." Mysti, to demonstrate to the creature she was safe, she transformed into the common housecat she obtained. <I don't want to hurt you. All I'm saying out of this demonstration is that I know your kind and that I can morph.> She then transformed back into a human.

Markhali watched in amazement as the human female morphed into a common human pet, called a cat.

<How did you obtain Andalite technology, human?> he thought-spoke at the female, scowling.
