• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Is the 3DS worth saving for?

Imo, only if the remake of Ruby/Sapphire is exclusive to it, as well as other games that are really worth playing (like Zelda and Metroid and friends) but other than that, even if the 3D is apparently amazing (some can't even see it... poor Squornshellous) I don't think it is worth the bunch of money.

v_v If you can't see the 3D, don't bother. The battery life is abysmal. But I think that some day or another, you'll have to get it, because, as LoTF said, there'll be console-exclusive games, the same way they don't make GBA games anymore. Wait for the next update or console. And yes, it's apparently amazing.

If you've enjoyed the other Nintendo handhelds, I'd give it a go. The game library isn't big at the moment, but a there's a few worth your time and fair amount of yet to be released games that look promising. On the downside, the 3DS games are more expensive than your average DS game. The graphics are loads better than the DS. The 3D isn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be, however, it's a nice touch. The battery life is downright terrible, so I'd recommend setting the light settings to the dimmest possible and use the battery saving mode, which gives me about 5 to 6 hours of gaming. It's nothing mindblowing or you've gotta have it worthy, but I'd recommend eventually getting one. Also, the AR games are worth a try if you decide to buy one.

I'm actually using the 3DS browser to type this post. Biggest pain in the ass ever and difficult, but 's portable :/ They should make wireless keyboards that aren't just for that Pokemon typing game thing.

The 3D is pretty, but if you're not going to get any games with the 3DS it gets boring kinda quickly. I'd say wait for cool games, unless all you have right now is a DS Phat or a GBA or something.

It's good. I don't care about the 3D, actually, though it's a nice touch, but more about the games(Zelda, and the others that will be released!) Plus you know, after a while they'll only release 3DS games anyway.

They're usually around $40 dollars in the US, but you'll find a sale here and there. I even found that Target was selling nintendogs + cats for $20. :>

If you go on amazon, you can buy A 3DS used for $130. I'm just putting that out there, as a suggestion.

If you don't want to spend huge amounts of money, there's a decent used market out there.
