R/S/E Just out of total curiosity...

I love the third gen. Its the first one that I truly started to play pokemon a lot, and also the only one that I have all of the games released for it-well, at least all of the main games+Pokemon Mystery Dungeon+Pokemon Coliseum/XD.

I didn't really do anything with my secret base. I didn't feel the need, probably, since I didn't really have any friends that played Pokemon at the time. *Que Forever Alone meme post*

The starters for 3rd gen were by far the best in my opinion. I loved the design for all of them, and I still think that they could kick any other gen starter's ass in a 1v1 match.

This gen also introduced quite a few of my favorite evolution lines, non-evolving pokemon, and legendaries. Specifically, the Mudkip line, the Wurmple line(at least, the Beautifly half), the Poochyena line, Absol, Groudon, Rayquaza, Latias, and finally, my favorite evolutionary line ever, the Ralts line, with my favorite of that line being Gardevoir(sorry Gallade, you are last since you came late to the party.)

Haha, dude, same here ;D With the Secret Base stuff and everything, I'm trying to get all of them now. (I just beat Winona, myself... I kinda wish I didn't leave it alone for so long; it feels like I'm starting from like the middle of the game, but I don't want to restart because this is where my Shiny came from :c)

...Seriously? Struggle works on Ghosts? Huh, interesting... I guess it'd have to, though, what with that being the last move you end up with and all... :V
 
I love R/S/E! They're my favorites, especially in the way the game cartridges look (they're so shiny...). I think that Emerald was one of my favorite games. I still remember playing it so well... And right now my favorite game is Ruby. I'm doing a fun little duo and I almost have my fourth badge. I think my favorite part of R/S/E is the sprites of the native Pokemon (the Kanto/Johto ones look kind of funny).

But there's also, yes, secret bases. I love secret bases. Especially the Rhydon Doll. Sometimes if I'm bored, I wander around the region using Secret Power until I find just the right base... I think my favorite one is west of Fortree; it's the first grass pile that you come across if you start from Fortree. That was where my Emerald secret base was :)
 
Emerald is the 3rd best main series Pokémon game ever. The only things better are HGSS because Johto. Overall, Hoenn is my absolute favorite region, maybe tied with Johto.

I love all the Pokémon introduced in Generation III. My favorites are the Weather Trio and Absol.

Secret Bases were the shizz! I loved to just look around and see if I could find the perfect base - usually I settle for one on routes 119 through 123. Those five routes collectively make up the best area of the entire Pokémon world, and having your own little house there made it so much more epic, especially since it was usually like a treehouse / was hidden away.

The MUSIC, oh the music! I love all the musical selections from RSE, especially the Champion theme - it's one of the tracks I'm putting on my iPod, along with some Mystery Dungeon music.

Lastly, when writing my extremely elaborite but as-yet-unposted-anywhere-because-I-scrap-them-and-start-over-every-other-day fanfictions, Hoenn and its legendaries always provide the best plots. :D
 
I still play Emerald and FireRed all the time :3 I love them. They're so...classic. Yeah, all the fancy graphics and stuff in the new games are nice and all, but it's pretty fun to kick back and play the old 3rd Gen games on a GBA for an awhile. I never really get tired of the plots and there's always plenty to do in the game. Honestly, I just play until I beat the E4, then restart and play through with a different team that I've never used before(:
 
Ruby version was always my favorite version, partly cause I was starting to fall out of Pokemon till I started playing Ruby. When mom gave my GBC away it was the only one I kept. xD
 
But you can't get two Moon Stones in Ruby, and you don't need two Sun Stones when Sunkern is unavailable. It would be better if Jigglypuff and Clefairy were exclusives in Hoenn with Clefairy being in Ruby, because Clefairy can hold a Moon Stone and that would enable you to get both Delcatty and one of those two's final stages in both versions.

Why would you need two Moon Stones in Ruby...? The only RSE Pokemon that needs one is Delcatty. I don't get the need for Jigglypuff or Clefairy.
Plus, only one Sun Stone is available and that's to get Bellossom, unless you're counting the ones attached to wild Solrocks.

Not true, My brother had ruby with his level 100 sceptile, and i trained my charizard to lv 100, and it beat it in 3 hits, and i didnt use any fire type moves. Then he got pissed off since he usually wins and he's a sore loser, an he turned off his game right when his pokemon fainted.

However, i like Blaziken adn Swampert, they are awesome.

On a side note, I like my Sapphire game, cause my swampert kicks ass. I like how it has Kyogre and Latias, cause those are my fave out of the weather trio and the Lati's.

I was more talking about same type vs. same type. Of course Sceptile is gonna get destroyed/maimed/blown-into-nothingness by Charizard: it's STAB moves are resisted 4x AND even if you didn't use fire-type moves, then you still have flying-type moves to utterly screw with him. Plus, many non-stab moves that Sceptile learns that are even worth a damn are resisted by Charizard, with the main exception being Dragon Pulse.

For the record, Speed Boost Blaziken destroys every other starter ever in seconds.

Yes, I was referring to the fact that Solrock and Lunatone are exclusives.

I still don't get your point though - to need another Moon Stone in Ruby, you'd need to trade Jigglypuff/Clefairy from FRLG, which have more Moon Stones anyway. Unless, for some reason, you need a second Delcatty.

The problem is that Jigglypuff is available in RS (and maybe Emerald). I have a Wigglytuff in Sapphire.
 
.... And until today I didn't know Jigglypuff was in RSE. >_< Hurrr
Anyway, it's on Route 115, which I don't go to much, so I suppose I wouldn't have seen it.

R/S were my least favorite games in the series.
I was disappointed for some reason but I can still admit that the games were good.
Only ever played through Sapphire and Ruby through once... D:
