NINJATOES vs Wuffles

You know naught of perceptions of chronology you... you derp. >l

(I'm going to start asking my refs to fill out a form detailing the ways they treat certain game mechanics I swear)

Okay fine. Wash him off, Zappa. It'll do... yannow, damage. Big damage, cause we like rain and suchlike, to whomever is out. Thing is he may try and bring the sun out to negate, and we know the sun is icky, so if he goes with Sunny Day, we can go ahead and throw a Disable his way and get rid of that little problem. Finally if he protects, digs, or otherwise chickens out of being plastered by a massive torrent just go ahead and Focus Energy.

Okay, so if it's still raining, and he's open and all, then... Surf 'im again. If he used Sunny Day the previous turn and you disabled it, go ahead and Rain Dance again and reboot our downpour~ And if it's still raining but he's hiding again or something.. May as well show off how much of a dance commander you are and start up a Dragon Dance.

And then! If the weather wasn't messed with then our rain will be letting up, set that back up now~ If it's already been reset and is still raining then mix things up with a Waterfall in case we've danced last round cause I think it'll come out roughly equal damage even neutral. AND if we can't reach them again.. Dragon Dance.... Again.

Khao snorts in laughter at the tiny, struggling seahorse flopping madly on the torn-up arena floor. Is his opponent seriously sending that out to fight him? A tiny stranded fish against a huge flaming porcupine bear thingy? He flares up his mane and gets ready to wipe the floor with the pipsqueak. This shouldn't take too long. But he squanders his brutal destruction away for a short moment, instead becoming overcome with a feeling of schadenfreude. Sadistically, he peels of a blob of fire from his back and begins to form it into a ball, before letting it go and sending it floating ceilingwards. When it reaches the cracked canopy of the platform, it suddenly bursts out a wave of brilliant white sunlight, which pierces even through the intense amounts of neon still haunting the arena. Zappa whimpers as the searing heat hits him, drying out his already parched skin, and Khao looks down on him and laughs uproariously. Furious, Zappa counters by squeezing his eyes shut and focussing whatever psychic powers teeny seahorses somehow have, invading Khao's brain with them and trying to convince him he's a chicken; when that fails, he goes for a less devastating strategy and shuts off all Khao's memory of the move Sunny Day for a while.

Khao blinks, then looks up at the light shining above him; where'd that come from? he wonders, shielding his eyes from its warm glowing warming glow. He decides that's irrelevant, as long as he can use it to his advantage. Grinning nastily, he clenches his paws and begins absorbing the natural light energy into them, forming two huge orbs of green glowing energy. When they reach a considerable size, he clasps them together, forming a veritable mass of volatile solar energy; the charging process was exacerbated immeasurably by the abundance of light energy beaming down from the pseudo-sun disco ball hovering above the battlers' heads. Unable to contain the charge of energy any longer, Khao lets it burst forth from him in a streak of blinding white energy; it strikes Zappa and explodes in a tremendous flash of light and sweltering heat. Zappa is flung yards from his original position by the cataclysmic eruption of light, and pretty beaten up by it as well, his tiny body littered with injuries and slight burns. Shaking off the pain, Zappa decides he needs to get rid of that accursed sun. He begins to flounder on the ground haphazardly, producing the closest thing to a rhythm he can muster in his dessicated, breathless state. The clouds above the arena take note of his dance, and begin to converge around the platform; a dark shadow cloaks the area, or would if it weren't for the teeny sun blasting out ludicrous amounts of light. The clouds suddenly begin to gush water, breaking out into a massive rainstorm that leaks through the cracks in the roof, drenching Khao's sun and causing it to fizzle out and extinguish in little to no time at all.

Zappa splashes happily in a newly-formed tiny puddle, his scales rehydrated and water finally circulating through his gills again. The sudden influx of water provokes a burst of energy, and Zappa's speed increases twofold. With his new abundance in activity he wastes no time in aggressing his bullying opponent, leaping from the puddle towards Khao with a cloak of water swirling around his teeny body. The torrential rain adds to this covering as he travels, until he collides with the Typhlosion in a positive explosion of water. The Typhlosion roars in pain and surprise as the sheer force of the water nearly knocks him off his feet; however, he quickly composes himself, grabs Zappa in his claws and slams him viciously against the ground. The tiny seahorse gives a horrific wail of pain, which soon cuts off along with the actual pain itself; the brutal slam should have devastated the tiny fish's body, but instead it just dealt a nasty flesh wound and just avoided serious damage. How strange. Khao flinches as poison wells up in his body, and Zappa takes this opportunity to wriggle free and escape back to his pond.

Hmm... Khao, your default attacks this round shall be Hyper Beam, Hyper Beam, and ah, Hyper Beam. Let's go full-throttle, yes?

As usual, Counter anything physical, except for on the last action. Oh, and make sure only to Counter stuff that's worth countering, i.e. a full-out Waterfall or Flail, not something piddly like a weakened Headbutt. Volatile Spirit if Zappa is Protecting, Bouncing, or whatever - basically if he's out of range (Substitute not included), except on the last action. And on the last action, if Kappa tries to Endure, reward him with a Toxic; if he's Rested, then Chill.

OKAY SO......
hnn. This seems somewhat disproportionate. Well, I don't know why giant fiyah weasel is hyper beaming but may as well soak him down.. with surf that is. Stupid counter.
And... then he'll have to recharge I think, surf him again. Teehee, wet weasel.
And then since he wants to line up another Hyper Beam... yeah, lure him into that.. and then protect. Endure? pfft. Besides Toxic is -our- shtick. >:c

Rain continues to cascade through the cracks in the ceiling, splashing the exposed cables which crackle and cough sparks all across the arena. The trainers and referee stand back cautiously to avoid electrocution, while Khao tries to keep the torrents away from his mane. Fed up of this dampness, he decides to teach Zappa a lesson. He drops down onto all fours, opening his jaws with a snarl to show a spark of orange energy glinting in his throat. A wire-thin strand of light exudes from his mouth, and the ground begins to shake as the glint of light swells steadily into a huge orb of energy bulging out of his jaws. Threads of light shoot off in all directions, lights flicker and flash violently, and the platform shakes like crazy. Zappa watches on in stunned awe and terror, petrified of being hit by whatever Khao has coming but doubting how much good it'd do to flee, even if he could. Suddenly, Khao can take no more and unleashes the overwhelming well of energy, the tiny rays of light converging into a massive orange blast that hurtles across the arena. The burst rockets toward Zappa at incredible speed, churning up the ground and carving a trench through the ground underneath it as it travels. As the beam approaches Zappa's muscles suddenly unlock and he struggles frantically to escape the attack, but much too late. The mighty blast collides with him and erupts in a tremendous BOOM!, emitting a flash of light brighter even than the remaining blinding neon lights and shrouding the arena in smoke and debris thrown several metres from the blast site. When the chaos clears, the trainers look to Zappa's end to see the dishevelled seahorse lying dazed on the edge of the arena, a chunk of it having been cleaved right away by the monumental explosion, obliterating Zappa's tiny puddle. Regaining his senses, the fish gives whatever the fish equivalent of a furious snarl is and prepares to retaliate. He looks around for a water source but despite the torrential rain, there's not much in the way of anything to fill up with sufficient water to form a sizable wave. The earlier Earthquakes simply put deep cracks in the earth, too thin to contain enough water. The trench carved by the progress of the Hyper Beam is filling up nicely but is far too shallow. And the sheer force of the blast broke chunks of the platform clean off rather than leaving a nice big crater. Shrugging his tiny fins, Zappa attempts to attack anyway- he tries desperately to summon a wave of water from thin air, and to his astonishment a loud sloshing noise sounds behind him. A roaring wall of water scoops up the astonished Horsea and pushes him to the crest of the wave, which sweeps across the arena and slams into an equally stunned Khao. Even the mighty Fire-type can't stand up to the brutal force of the water and is knocked off his feet and battered ruthlessly by the waves. The water vanishes as soon as it had appeared, leaving two rather astonished Pokémon in its wake.

While Zappa is still somewhat surprised by the success of his attack, Khao is already preparing a retaliation. Ignoring the intense fatigue caused by the exertion of his first outburst, Khao again drops to his front paws and braces, charging intense power for another cataclysmic energy blast. Zappa notices him gearing up for the same attack and begins to flop frantically to avoid it. His comical floundering at least gets him out of the beam's line of fire, but Khao is having none of that. The increasing well of energy becomes increasingly powerful and difficult to control, but the mighty Typhlosion wrestles his neck round to face his opponent and lets loose another tremendous surge. The beam fires again with a deafening crackle, and the stream once again slams into the exhausted seahorse. Another tremendous explosion and an all-enveloping cloud of dust burst through the arena, not settling down for several minutes. Zappa lies motionless on the floor, once more dazed by the colossal impact, lying next to a large crater left by the explosion. He'd manged to struggle far enough from the edge for the blast to not extend beyond the edges of the platform, resulting in a large hole rather than a chunk blown out of the platform. The Horsea regains all his faculties again, and examines the crater with delight, but becomes irritated that it's still just filling up, and won't be full enough to swim in properly before the end of the action. The annoyed seahorse plops into the shallow water at the bottom and decides to help it along, summoning another wave of water out of nowhere and sending it streaking across the arena. As it passes the crater, much of the water sloshes in, but still enough is left to cause some considerable pain to Khao. The Typhlosion, exasperated from two consecutive Hyper Beams, hasn't the energy to react as the tower of water crashes into him with a colossal roar before running off the edge of the platform and vanishing. Zappa peeks his head above the water at his ailing opponent, struggling to his feet among the increasingly-violently sparking cracks in the floor, before seeking refuge back at the bottom of his pool.

Zappa won't be holed up safely for long. Khao prowls to the edge, intent on finishing the fishie off with one last Hyper Beam at close range. Zappa looks up, trembling; will Khao give it a rest with that attack?! It must be against the damn rules somehow, blowing up innocent, helpless fish like this. His opponent doesn't seem to care so strongly about fairplay as he charges his third lazor; the exertion of charging so much energy is making him totally exhausted, but he refuses to betray this fact as he invests all his might in charging the attack. Once again, the beam gets too powerful for him to contain, and he lets it loose at Zappa. The beam hits the fish, but then suddenly stops; far from flinging Zappa far away or exploding, the beam simply continues blasting at the same spot. Khao frowns in confusion and blasts Zappa harder, but still the attack fails to gain any purchase. Frustrated, Khao cuts off the attack, and Zappa chuckles mischievously and lowers a bright blue, translucent shield that had clearly shielded him from the mighty blast. Khao sighs and slinks back to his place, collapsing onto the ground to rest. The three consecutive massive-energy attacks really took it out of him, and on top of that, the poison in his system again wells up, making him sore all over.

Fixed reffing since Dwagie mentioned earlier in the thread that water would appear as needed and the Surfs should have been successful.

Righteo, let's stall. Zappa, cast Protect!... If the big oaf is gonna attack, anyway. Otherwise, Surfin' Dood. If.. you're good at predictions. Use those.. seahorse psychic powers. Yeah.
Then we can mix it up and try our luck with Endure.
Or surf... if he... doesn't attack.

The two heavily-beaten-up Pokémon listen quietly to their commands, rubbing their numerous wounds and praying for a swift and easy exit from the battle. Their spirits lift slightly at the fact that none of their commands are very taxing, and stiffen their resolve slightly, ready to end the last turn of one of them's participation in this battle. Through the dying streams of the rainstorm, Khao rushes across the arena, building up speed but not pushing himself too much, working up just enough force to knock something down. As he dashes towards Zappa's pool, the Horsea raises a protective light barrier, and when Khao reluctantly jumps in to attack his foe, he is immediately bounced back by some unseen force. He snarls in surprise as the forcefield pushes him back from the pool and out onto dry land, and he skulks away crossly as Zappa lowers his shield with a sigh of relief.

Gradually, the rain finishes its slow decline and peters out entirely, the dark clouds drawing apart and the weather returns to normal. Khao flares out his fiery mane, glad to no longer have to hide it away from the elements. He begins another dash across the still-soaking arena, choosing to ignore a yellowish glimmer from the depths of the pool. Hiding his mane away again he dives in, paddles to his glowing opponent and rams into him with what remains of his momentum. The yellowish glow vanishes with no apparent consequence, and Khao climbs out of the pool and shakes off his fur, then lets his mane out to dry out his still-damp body.

Though Khao's Tackle was really just a nudge, it felt like agony to the immensely wounded Zappa. The seahorse employs every ounce of willpower to force out one final attack before being knocked out of the battle. Unfortunately for him, Khao, though exhausted, is in a slightly fitter state to be fighting, and the Typhlosion walks to the edge of the pool with his fist clenched and charging up a ball of electrical energy. Zappa has just managed to force himself to start working on manipulating the water into a wave when he sees the shimmering silhoutte of Khao from above the water's surface, and the brightly shining orb in his hand. The Horsea whimpers pathetically as the shadow reaches down and punches into the water, his fist heading straight for Zappa's head. The fish cowers in fright as the punch smashes into his skull and the pool lights up with an immense flash of electricity. The flash dies out, and after a few seconds of silence Zappa's lifeless body floats to the surface of the pool. Dwagie recalls the unconscious fishie as Khao turns to his trainer with a weak, victorious grin on his exhausted face. He turns back and flinches, the poison in his system attacking his nervous system again, and his cheerful mood is ruined somewhat as he realises he's on the way out as well.

Dwagie grumpily thrusts Zappa's ball back onto her belt and snatches up another Pokéball, throwing it into the arena and releasing Yukianesa, her opponent's Froslass. The ghost surveys her flagging opponent in confusion; isn't Khao normally on her side? And who's this trainer controlling her? She shrugs, deciding to just run with it. The round begins, Yukianesa rather accustomed to this wail-on-your-buddies thing and with no reservations about beating the snot out of that snake. She rubs her hands together, charging a bolt of static electricity between them, and then reacher her appendage towards Nithhoggr. The electricity leaps from her finger in an arc and zaps Nithhoggr right on the nose, and the snake hisses in agony and reels away, coiling madly as the electricity plays havoc with his nervous system. His muscles loosen up as soon as they had stiffened, and he smirks at Yukianesa with venom drooling from his jaws. He opens his mouth wide and spews out a glistening pile of purple ooze on the ground in front of him, and as Yukianesa looks on in revulsion it begins to squirm into the crude shape of a serpent. It rears up on its own and slithers in front of its creator, leaving a disgusting slick of purple slime in its wake.

Gagging and shivering at this wretched spectacle, Yukianesa almost doesn't realise what Nithhoggr has actually done. Then she notices that... thing Nithhoggr made seems pretty intent on stopping anything getting past it and hitting him. Abandoning the Confuse Ray she was intending on she raises her appendages into the sky, releasing a blast of cold wind and a flurry of snowflakes as the clouds darken and gather in the sky above the arena. Then huge hailstones begin crashing down on the canopy of the platform, causing a persistant riot of tapping noises. The cracks and holes in the ceiling allow the stones to slip through in places, but thins out the hail considerably; it's much easier for the Pokémon and trainers to avoid harm, and despite Yukianesa's skill at camouflaging herself in wintry weather, Nithhoggr can still make her out fairly easy through the thin storm of icy pebbles. Squinting, Nithhoggr slithers forth, ignoring the hailstones slamming into his body, and swings his tail suddenly at a blurry shape in front of him. Yukianesa dodges his blade by the breadth of a hair and scarpers through the hail, leaving the thwarted Seviper stabbing the ground in frustration.

Yukianesa chuckles devilishly. Nithhoggr seems to be loving those hailstones, she giggles to herself as she watches him and his bodyguard coiling madly to avoid the concentrated lumps of frozen pain smashing down from the sky. Perhaps he'd like some real stones to go with them. Bringing up the contents of the stomach her ghost body apparently has for some reason, she floats over to Nithhoggr and taps him on the shoulder (or whatever snakes have that you tap them on to get their attention). When he looks round, she spews out everything in her stomach, smashing him repeatedly in the face with all the rocks she ate earlier and soaking the wounds in stomach acid. Only when the torrent of geological puke subsides does she realise she's attacked the wrong snake; the real Nithhoggr is a few yards away fighting to move against his rebellious muscles and being smashed with hail, while his substitute is standing before her, a great deal of its head destroyed. She growls in frustration, her sour mood soon wearing off as she watches her opponent's amusing struggle.

=REFEREE'S NOTES=
~ it is hailing (4 more actions). However the hail can only trickle through the cracks in the ceiling, meaning there's far less on the battlefield than there would be in an open-air environment. Therefore it deals damage every two actions and Snow Cloak's effectiveness is halved.
~ Knock Off rolled a 96 for accuracy. It needed 95 or lower to hit. Blazhy, you must construct additional shrines.
~ the additional effects of Pebble Jet didn't work on Nithhoggr's substitute, since it has no skin and doesn't feel pain.
~ Nithhoggr was fully paralysed on the third action.

Ugh, what luck. Fine. While you're still protected by your Sub, wait for Yukianesa to do whatever and Payback (its power should be doubled even if she doesn't damage you). If you're too antsy to wait for that, though, just Flamethrower - also use Flamethrower if she tries to Protect, has clones, or is invisible (sweep it about in the case of the latter two).

Second action, just Crunch her, whatever. If there are clones or Yukianesa's invisible, Dark Pulse instead. Also do so if she's phased in you - the negative thoughts/dark energy/whatever should damage her, at least, if not drive her out. And because I'm lazy, repeat those attacks for action 3 - switch them around if you've been Tormented or Disabled, however.

If, at any point, Yukianesa uses Protect/Endure/what have you (not including Substitute, of course), take the action to Shed Skin and lessen your paralysis. Do the same if she tries to be sneaky and Bides on actions 2 or 3.

hrmlhrmlhrml.

Well that ceiling is no good, let's see what we can do to get rid of it. If it'll work, do it, eh~

A) Avalance~ Either call some big ol' ice blocks from the sky, or just collapse the roof itself, and get that weather flowin' in.
B) Thunderbolt, it'll probably be weakened, but for now we only have a 4% sub to worry about, so strike it through whatever ceiling you can to try and crack it open.
C) If all else fails, just Ice Beam as per usual and get that sub out of here.

And then.. hrm. Blast him with Blizzard a couple times. I dunno, we've had our share of hax so sod the confuse rays. :C
