Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

No more glasses yes yes yes

So at my eye appointment today I finally got my mother to agree get me contacts, something I've been wanting for quite a long time now. Of course, I don't get them until the 10th of November, but still, the thought that I'll finally be rid of my glasses makes me feel so happy that I had to make a post about it.

That's all.

Ah, lucky you! ♥ Contacts are itchy at first though. I'm not allowed to get them until my next eye appointment (luckily my mum's all 'aw we'll try contacts :3'), though.

Lucky, I will probably never be able to have contacts because my eyes are so bad that my lenses have to be like half an inch thick :(

So lucky you!
Good luck with putting them in if you're squeamish or have a tendency to poke yourself in the eye.

Lucky butt :P
I dun like my glasses. But I look ugly without them. Yet again, I always look ugly...
ANYWAYS CONGRATS :D

Glasses are sexier, but contacts are more convenient. I remember the first time I got contacts. You'll have fun.

edit: also i got glasses in 6th grade so everyone was all like "lolol nerdface glasses foureyes HA"

I've had my glasses since I was about four, so when people first met me in kindergarten they really didn't care / notice. Of course, my friend at the school I go to now says that the first time he saw me, the first word that popped into his head was "geek".

I honestly am not surprised.

Why are you putting this in the LAUGHING Cupboard? :P Glasses are awesomer than contacts :D

Well, as long as you're happy ^^

I like glasses...

Still, congrats ^_^ Now you can poke yourself in the eye every time you put them in or take them out, and spend days looking for one that falls out.

You lucky son of a gun, you.

I've been wearing glasses for 5 years, and frankly, I'm sick of them.

Anyone with glasses will regret their poor choices when they realize that contacts have an incredible visibility range, so you don't have to move your head to look at things.

that's terrible!

You should randomly touch your eye. I did that a few weeks before I got contacts, so I could get it in without problems.

I have contacts, but I never wear them, because they don't like me. (Meaning they somehow hurt my eyes. *shrugs)

I don't have glasses or contacts. I don't see how I don't because my life is on the computer like every second not including meals, school and other random stuff. Congrats.

It's mostly biological, and the way you deal with it. You can do that all you want and still have perfect vision, but if you're nearsighted you can make it worse or better depending on what you do with it.

I've got concentric bifocal contacts, which has actually made my eyes stop getting worse (which is usually the case) and start getting better at the price of a slower shift as the brain recalibrates from close-up to far-away. If you contact people can afford them I strongly recommend it because using contacts/glasses while doing closeup activity will indeed continue to make your eyes nearer and nearer sighted as your body uses it's eyes less.

the power of science rant errr yeah
