Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.
Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.
Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?
This is starting to bother me. what does PO mean?
Name: Rodolfo “Roddy” Kraus
Age when put in Naptime: 16
Current Age: 18
Gender: ♂
Species: Chatot
Power: Acoustikinesis
Personality: Brash and vindictive, Roddy is a bad-tempered and intolerant bully. Arrogant and abusive to the point where he’s prone to taking offence at just about anything, restrained only by his compulsive urge to be recognized and accepted. An unstable paradox brought about by the merging process, both parties having been extremely reluctant and bitter towards the idea of inhabiting the same body.
He rejects authority from any source excluding himself, paranoid of being forced into a situation in which he appears submissive in any way, fearing that unless he retains control of his independence he will be manipulated and abused. This is brought into frequent conflict with his instinctive need to mingle and socialize, and can often lead to extended bouts of argument between what remains of the two separate sides of Rodolfo and his Pokemon partner’s unique personas. Who linger on as fragments of scattered memories and feelings that continue to exert their influence, without being significant enough to be considered alternate identities.
Caught in a cycle of self-destruction, his need to please leading to constant frustration when his habitual sarcasm and vengefulness inevitably turn people against him, despite appearing unaffected, he feels a measure of pain as well as pleasure from making other people feel even worse that he does. His only known (temporary) method for dealing with pain being to project it outward towards others. Secretly, he longs to be different, but has little faith in his own capability to change. His tendency to show-off stemming from a crisis of self-confidence.
Appearance: Tall and lithe, Roddy is rarely seen without his trademark windbreaker, a bright vermillion red jacket with a ruff of feathers around the collar, with a stylized treble clef imprinted in black on the back between the shoulders. Clean shaven with trim black hair tied into a short ponytail in the shape of a musical note, his eyes the same sky blue color as his shirt, but rarely seen behind a pair of mirrored flight goggles which are held in place with a black bandanna. Poking out the back of his pair of navy blue jeans is the black metronome-like tail of a Chatot, and on his feet he wears typical running shoes, green with yellow patterns.
He carries around with him a special soundproof stopwatch at all times, which he has set to count down from variables of 3, 5, and 10 respectively at the touch of a button. He commonly uses it as a prelude to most of his special attacks, and is extremely fond of it, to the point where he will savage and harass anyone who even looks at it in a way he finds personally untrustworthy. He also carries a standard-issue microphone, complete with the novelty feature that allows it to be unscrewed and used as a pen if circumstances demand it.
Bio: Rodolfo was accidental offspring of one of the patrons of the shelter, placed into their custody upon birth and raised as an orphan with occasional visits from his mother, who chose to remain anonymous, fearing that she could not handle the responsibility of raising a child alone. Despite forsaking the bond between mother and son however, her efforts to raise him indirectly, or for “free” as the good people of the shelter dubbed it, resulted in a conflicted upbringing.
At the age of ten, having been denied further contact with his mother on the accusation that she had been manipulating and abusing him, Rodolfo was finally permitted a companion. An ill-tempered Chatot who insisted on answering only to his species name, refusing to acknowledge any nickname Rodolfo tried to give him. Charged with taking care of the obstinate bird, their partnership was plagued by mistrust and argument, the intelligent and vocal avian harassing and insulting his charge at ever opportunity through his mastery of human speech. When the caretakers eventually came to take the bird away in the night – it was revealed that he had known of his fate all along. And that his prejudice towards Rodolfo had been because he blamed the child for what was to become of him.
The next day, the two were re-united, with the Chatot’s soul now soundly contained inside a glass orb. Feeling no empathy for his partner’s plight whatsoever, bitter towards him from years of bullying and abuse, Rodolfo gleefully carried the orb with him everywhere he went. Talking to it constantly and tormenting his former oppressor now that he could no longer speak back, teasing him with the pleasures he could no longer experience himself. Over time, he became obsessed, so much so that he began to hear voices from the sphere at night, his partner telling him that “he was going to get what he deserved” very soon. Frightening him so much that he could no longer sleep.
Responding to the manager’s summons one day, the meaning behind Chatot’s words of warning became all too clear upon the moment that Rodolfo set eyes upon the glass tube. In a final attempt to make amends, he dashed out of the room, evading his pursuers, and attempted to throw his partner’s soul out of one of the top-storey windows. Which he hoped would cause the glass to shatter and his partner to be free. He never made it however, the security wardens intercepting him between two flights of stairs, and he was dragged sobbing back to the isolation chamber. Where he succumbed to the sleeping solution despite his ardent attempts to resist it.
When he awakened, he stubbornly insisted upon answering only to the name “Roddy” and nothing, punishment included, could persuade him otherwise.
Relationships: A friend of sorts would be welcome ~ But I'm fine with making enemies. =3
Other: Can use sound to replicate the effects of most noise-related pokemon attacks and abilities, e.g; soundproof.
Name: Karae
Age when put in Naptime: 14
Current Age: 16
Gender: ♀
Species: Dragonair
Power: Aerokinesis
Personality: Karae is a perfectionist, though she is not loud about this trait. It shows through in how she does things, always taking more time for everything to be done well, and being interrupted or pulled away - or messing it up - are sure ways to rouse her temper. Otherwise, she is... quiet. She does not say much, and tends to keep herself aloof from other people to watch them act, but she is incredibly dependent on someone who will tell her what to do, or show the least bit of interest in her. It was why she was so happy about the Shelter, because they had cared for her, and she had eagerly attached herself to them. She has a... disturbing lack of morality, and tends to oversimplify things to a black and white viewpoint. She is moderately claustrophobic, and is convinced that, at times, her dead partner is speaking to her and criticizing her actions. This leads to her sometimes responding or reacting to something that no one else can see or hear.
Appearance: Short and skinny, Karae looks underweight, sickly, and almost certainly could be thrown around without much effort. Her skin is pale, with a slight blue-ish tinge, her black hair is lank and her oddly bright blue eyes are shadowed, as if she doesn't get much sleep. Her head is the most striking part of her body, with two small wings extending from the sides, and a small horn protruding, unicorn-like, from her forehead.
She wears clothing in dark shades, tight-fitting enough that, though it doesn't hug her body, it doesn't get in the way of moving. However, she wears a high collar and long, trailing sleeves, because they hide the blue orb that miraculously grows out of her skin, and draws attention away from her tail. If caught, the sleeves are easily ripped off - something Karae is rather pleased with. Her tail, though still long enough to wrap around her waist, is far shorter than an actual Dragonair's tail, and serves as a balance.
Bio: Karae was a troubled child, raised by a poor family who quickly gave her away when they discovered how high-maintenance she was; often having nightmares, panicking when in small spaces, often afflicted with illnesses of one sort or another. So they gave her to the Shelter, and she switched her loyalty with an unnerving ease. Her family had not cared for her as much as they did, and they had never considered giving her a Pokemon. So when the Shelter gave her a Dratini, Karae grew almost obsessed with her partner, insisting her Pokemon always be outside, training her and spending time with her constantly. The Dratini did not particularily like the attention, and noticed all the many signs that Karae was not... completely well, often trying to fix them to some degree.
It never worked, though, and when she evolved, she repudiated the girl. During the time they had spent together, Karae's nightmares had almost ceased, but now they returned, driving her to wake up sobbing and desperate for help, and her Pokemon did not seem to care. When she was killed, her spirit put into an orb, Karae spent a great deal of time in her room, staring at the cage that held her Pokemon with something like wonder, but her sleep continued to be erratic and filled with bad dreams.
The moment came when she was locked in the tube to merge with the Dragonair, and she went willingly, though once she emerged, she was even more troubled, holding herself apart and often talking to the air as if arguing with herself.
Relationships: Minion/friend/weapon of Roddy~
Other: I doubt anyone here remembers my main Pokemorph concept~ Ah well. :3
Changing Reservation to Gravitkinesis. Should have form up Tuesday or Thursday
Name: Amaterasu
Age when put in Naptime: 14
Current Age: 17
Gender: ♀
Species: Glaceon
Power: Cyrokinesis
Personality: She doesn't really trust anyone. She thinks everyone is out to get her or someone else. She doesn't have a sense of humor and rarely smiles. Also suffers from bouts of jealousy. Otherwise, PO.
Appearance: Her short bluish green hair resembles the cap-like fur and ears, except it goes all the way around her head, not just in front. Her Glaceon ears poke out of that. She has hazel eyes. Her skin is very pale and pretty cold compared to a normal human body temperature. On her face, under her right eye is a bluish-green rhombus. She wears a light blue, short-sleeved shirt and jean shorts, which have a hole in it for her tail. She wears short clothes all year round, because her ice-typing makes her resistant to cold temperatures
Bio: Her mother died five days before her 11th birthday. She was left to care for her 3 younger sisters, Phoenix, Minerva, and Aurora, until her relatives from Kanto could get to Johto. They did end up getting to Johto, but were arrested and sentenced to a trial for spying attempts they did 6 years previously, when Team Rocket was becoming a thriving villain group. Amaterasu, struck with shock about caring for her siblings and finding out that her relatives were related to the infamous Team Rocket, ran off into the night. She was taken in by the Shelter and given an Eevee.
She didn't really trust the Shelter, but she trained the Eevee she got from them, monitoring it closely, waiting to see if it would turn on her. It did have a bit of a jealousy issue and mean streak, but it was a One day, a worker at the Shelter gave her a small piece of rock. He said it was from a special stone in Sinnoh. Soon, the Eevee was a Glaceon. A month later, Glaceon was taken from her. She knew something was up, but she didn't know what.
She was thrown into the chamber with the ball while she was sleeping, the guards knowing she would try to fight if she was awake. When she awoke and saw what had happened, she broke down sobbing. She never came out of her room after that, considering herself a prisoner of her own body. She, once again while alseep, was forcefully put into Naptime. She was really depressed at first but after a year, she felt that this was her fate.
Relationships: None for now

Name: Savannah
Age when put in Naptime: 13
Current Age: 14
Gender: Female
Species: Tabunne
Power: Force Field Projection
Personality: Savannah is a quiet child, mostly communicating with the tabunne inside her head. She used to be quite outspoken and a bit of a tomboy. But when she recieved her friend, a special tabunne with the ability to use moves such as reflect and light screen, she became less and less attached to the real world, shutting herself inside a force field her friend created for hours, talking, playing, or other things. After her tabunne was... taken away, she did little other than crying. When she got the orb, Savannah stared at it, seeing her friend inside and wondering how to get her out.
Appearance: Savannah is around medium height, being slightly tall. She is skinny and pale, as she doesn't go out much. Her ears are the same as a tabunne's, and she has a white tai of one too. She wears pink pants, a peach shirt, and a pink jacket, making her resemble a tabunne in dress as well as general appearance. She has blue eyes and blond hair.
Bio: Savannah used to be bold and outgoing, going to the Shelter despite warnings. She had fun there, too. She had lots of friends, and was very popular. When she got her friend, she lost touch with many of them. After her tabunne was taken away, she entered a state of depression and ignored them all. When she got merged with her friend, she became a nurse.
Relationship: She communicates telepathically with her tabunne, who is called Mary.
Other: She hears talks to Mary telepathically, but cannot do that with anyone else. Is that fine? Also, what Stormecho said. Stop making awesome RPs! Or don't. Really. Don't.
:3
It means played out, like the personality will evolve as the RP goes on.
