[Open] Cosmic War (OoC/Signups)

Exo-Raikou

It's over. I'm sorry, but it's over.
The Beginning
Nobody truly knows how they came into being.

All the legend states is that the being known as "The Sol" created all nine of them. All nine astrologous were created by and given land, resources, and soldiers fit for the abilities of the astrologous from the core of The Sol, after which The Sol took to eternal rest.

Three Hundred Years passed. During those three hundred years, The astrologous divided the continent that they were on, named Sol, among themselves, each choosing an environment best suited to their needs. During those three hundred years, the astrologous became the guardians of the continent, along with being the rulers of it. They were called upon only in times of need, using their incredible abilities to stop any threat posed to the continent. The astrologous were hailed by the people as gods.

And soon, several of them began to consider themselves equal to gods.

After the three hundred years passed, one of the astrologous began to question why Sol had been divided evenly, when it seemed clear that many of them were more powerful than the others. This particular guardian began to gather followers among the people outside of his domain, and eventually gathered the attention of three of the other astrologous.

Nobody knows who that particular astrologous was. All those who lived under the domain of Venus, Terra, Mercury, and Pluto knew was that one moment all was peaceful, the next, those under the servitude of Mars, Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter were attacking them. Caught unawares, those of Pluto were brutally beaten down by the combined army. Those of Pluto fled to the safety of Terra.

That was the first shot. Now, Venus, Terra, Mercury and Pluto have joined together - in an alliance known as "Polaris" to try and stop the army of the four - now titled "Eltanin." Uranus has remained neutral, and many on both sides suspect that those of Uranus are manipulating conflict behind the scenes. Furthermore, many who live in both the domain of Polaris and Eltanin disagree with the ideal of their domain and have betrayed their kinsmen, siding with the opposite group.

The Lines have been drawn. The Soldiers are gathering. War is Imminent.

The Land of Sol.
To The North: Venus' Domain. Venus' Realm lies closest to the skies (that is, in a city floating in the sky), and the seraphs that live within it are masters of controlling light energy. The Realm itself is considered to be a sanctuary, but because of its difficulty to access, and also because it is a common target of the Eltanin's attacks, it is difficult for refugees to flee to the Domain.
Venus, called "the Splendid" by her followers, is a seraph said to carry an aura of such power that those battling her are weakened by her very presence

To the North-East: Mercury's Domain. Mercury's Realm lies in a mountain range constantly plagued by storms of lightning. Very few can survive in the harsh land without a guide from one of the residents, who have learned to manipulate the lightning in the range.
Mercuy, also known as "The Quick," has often been said to appear in battle when one of his own is about to be struck down, appearing as fast the lightning over which he has total command.

To the East: Terra's Domain. Terra's Realm is the most luscious and green-filled territory of Sol, completely dominated by a sprawling forest. The people of Terra have learned to work together, as battling alone in the thick forest is dangerous and nearly suicidal
Terra has been described as a powerful warrior, with punches strong enough to split open the ground. It's also been said that Terra becomes even more powerful when attacking in tandem with one of her own warriors.

To the South-East: Pluto's Domain. Pluto's Realm is the coldest section of Sol. The area is constantly plagued by harsh blizzards that were once stated to be the true barrier of Pluto, as the mages of Pluto rarely take part in combat outside of their own domain - that's why they were targeted first
Pluto is a powerful magician, once stated to be one of the most powerful of the astrologous because of the capabilities he has. Legend has it that Pluto's greatest strength is the ability to instantly mimic whatever attack was just used on him - an ability that nobody else posseses.

To the South: Mars' Domain. Mars' Realm is a stark contrast to that of Pltuo - it is a volcanic wasteland constantly ravaged by eruptions. The people of Mars are among the most savage beings on Sol - their unforgiving environment has taught them that it is kill or be killed - that it is survival of the fittest. Their brutal flame abilities help exemplify this.
Mars has the alias of "The Berserker," which is fitting because once in battle, the fire-wielder becomes completely feral, reaching levels of rage that border insanity. The people of Mars would follow him into his own flames, if only because the thrill of battle that Mars brings is the closest thing that they will ever have to pleasure

To the South-West: Neptune's Domain. Neptune's Realm is almost completely sub-aquatic, which gives it an unappealing first impression. Once one goes beneath the waves, however, they find it a beautiful place filled with wonders unimaginable. But an unauthorized visitor had best leave quickly - those who trespass and are caught by the the reptilian humanoids that call Neptune's Realm home will be killed - or worse - brought before Neptune himself
Neptune is a brutal tyrant, one that enjoys getting the most out of his victim's pain before he kills them. Those who serve him are the least likely to defect, because they are scared of being killed - or worse, absorbed - by their master.

To the West: Saturn's Domain. Saturn's Realm lies completely underground, likely doing so because this particular Domain is the most technologically advanced in all of Sol, and thus would require more space. Prior to the alliance, people would travel from the other eight Domains to obtain goods from the Domain, making it the only Domain whose location is openly known by most, if not all, of the residents of Sol. It's been theorized that those who live in Saturn are creating tunnels to access other parts of Sol, but this has never been proven. The residents of Saturn are themselves machines, and are constantly upgrading themselves, some even taking the form of mechanical creatures.
Saturn is aptly known as "The Titan" because he is the largest of all the astrologous. He is also the most technologically advanced of his people, being the only one who was able to have parts of his own mechanical body split off, and yet still be able to control them. In battle, he uses a variety of hidden weapons to defeat his opponents.

To the North-West: Jupiter's Domain. Jupiter's Realm is one of shadow, and one that always requires a guide due to the ever-changing environment. The environment itself is always changing: at times, the land is a calm forest, at others, it is a swampland, but usually it takes the form of a plain shrouded in near total darkness. The shadow-controllers who live in Jupiter's Realm are creatures of all kinds, most are dragonic, modeled after their leader, but others have taken the form of monkeys, varying forms of birds, lizards, insects, and even humanoids
Jupiter is said to be a mighty dragon with complete power of darkness. Legend speaks that he has One Hundred eyes all across his body, and each eye can let him access the power of any of his followers who have fallen in battle, and it's also said that the eyes are what let him control the shape of his realm.

In The Center: Uranus' Domain: Uranus' Realm takes the form of a desolate swamp. The swamp is known for having many strange natural phenomenon that some would call impossible. One example of this is that flashes of lightning are completely silent, but the gentlest of breezes herald a deafening thunderclap. Those of Uranus are insectoid creatures, and are as unpredictable as their leader.
Uranus has always been described as insane. The ruler over this swampland can be calm and polite one moment, and then in a blind rage the next. It's been speculated many times that Uranus is also schizophrenic, and conversations with this astrologous give no reason to disprove that theory. Because Uranus' Realm is in the center, and due to the strange nature of Uranus and its ruler, many have suspected that this insane leader had a hand in starting the war.

All of the villages in Sol lie at the center of the realms. While some are desolate and deserted, such as Pluto's and Mars', others are prosperous and populated, such as Venus' or Saturn's

Reserving Jupiter, if you please. Will be back in 3-4 hours to do the form.

I'd like to reserve Terra if possible. I'll have the form up as soon as possible (very very long maximum 2 days).

Arcanine has been recently accepted. My only complaint is that he and SE are the only ones to have signed up.

I don't know. Maybe all (most?) of those little usernames at the bottom of the page are working on their forms right now, and simply haven't posted about it. Or maybe--no, definitely--I'm being too hopeful. But it's inconceivable how this isn't more popular.

Anyway, my form is done and sent.

Have hope - as good as the plot is (I think it's pretty good) RP's take time to start up.

A little patience never killed anyone (TOO BAD I DON'T HAVE ANY >=/)

Everyone Reserved. In order to speed things along, I'm going to put up my profile of Neptune, and reserve a Saturnian.

Name: Neptune
Age: 300
Gender: Male
Home Domain: Neptune
Side: Eltanin
Appearance: Neptune's lower body resembles that of an alligator, albeit an alligator with silver armor on its back. However, Neptune also has a torso, one that is also clad in silver armor, except for the head. His head is the most peculiar part of him; it is permanently covered with a strange shadow; the only part that is visible are his glowing yellow eyes, and his mouth, and only when it is open.
Personality: Neptune is a brutal tyrant. No, that would be an understatement. Of all the astrologous, Neptune is the most vicious, the most bloodthirsty; he even outdoes Mars in terms of sheer cruelty. He feels no sadness nor pity; the only joy he experiences is the joy of killing someone with his scythe, or "absorbing" someone after they have been killed and temporarily gaining their abilities. However, one must not let this bloodthirstiness and viciousness give the idea that Neptune has no mind; he is a cold and calculating ruler, and that is what makes him so lethal. In the past, conspirators against him have thought that Neptune never knew about their plots. In truth, Neptune always knows what goes on in his realm; if a fish swims past a reef at his shore, he knows about it. Once he gains this knowledge (it is not "if" he gets it) he will let a traitor think they have an upper hand, wait until their hopes are highest, and then appear before them, giving them a fate far worse than death- for traitors in Neptune's realm, death is a mercy. The other astrologus, especially those who would eventually join Polaris, tried to have as little contact with Neptune as possible; they feared that the slightest slip in Neptune's realm would cause the death of any messenger (on account of Neptune never believing in the phrase "don't kill the messenger")
History: When the land of Sol was divided into the nine pieces, Neptune immediately took the one that was mainly underground. He quickly established himself as the tyrant he is now by forcing his people to build the city in his realm, dominated by a massive structure in which he lives. He also immediately began training his people into a fighting force; he knew that battles would arise, and he wanted his people to be ready for the inevitable day. His methods of training, overseen by himself at first, and later those who had best accomplished the training, were at best questionable. Those who trained worked under extreme - often life-threatening - conditions, and were brutally beaten if they didn't finish. This is why people began to conspire against him, the first such conspiracy taking place about one hundred years into the reign. The conspirators planned to kill Neptune the when he was at his most vulnerable - that was during the only hour where Neptune retreated to his private throne room to decide on how to manage his people. They had an ally in Neptune's innermost circle, who be sued to provide the distraction while they killed Neptune. This proved to be a bad idea, as Neptune learned of the conspiracy because they had an ally in his circle (how he learned of it is not known, even today.) He waited until the day of the assassination, and the moment the traitors entered the chamber, they were struck down by Neptune - but they weren't killed. Instead, they were forced to watch as Neptune killed all of the family of the traitors, and then imprisoned the traitors in a location that is still to this day unknown. Since that day, only one or two more conspiracies surfaced, and in both of those instances, the conspirators quit before Neptune could punish them, only to disappear the following day. It was instances like these that made people learn to respect - and fear - The Tyrant Neptune.

When word of Eltanin reached Neptune's domain from one of Saturn's messengers, Neptune joined the alliance without a second though, hoping to use this opportunity to kill the other astrologous personally, doing so because he thinks that they are too weak to rule properly. That being said, he doesn't trust the astrologous that he is allied with, and while he constantly suspects them of wanting to betray the cause of Eltanin, he will not attempt to kill them until he finds evidence of treachery.

Well that's the case here. Except that I'm not working on a form, I'm formulating the character idea before I start on the form. I won't be an astrologous, so the slots aren't limited or anything, and I've been busy enough that I didn't feel the need to make a reservation post, but I suppose I just did.

Put me down as a denizen of Venus' realm.

Name: Hyperion
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Home Domain: Saturn
Side: Eltanin

Appearance:
Unlike most of his kind, Hyperion is not fully mechanic, with his upper torso, left arm and MOST of his head being organic. Because of this the mechanic parts are not only extremely durable, but also diverse. His mechanical arm takes the form of a monstrous three-fingered claw, but can shift into various sorts of weapons, or be taken off entirely and held with his left arm. When not in the battle the arm shifts into two, regular arms, which look out of place when you realize he only have one arm on the other side. His legs can, much like his arm, change into various weapons, but is less commonly used. Rather many of his internal organs have also been upgraded this way, making him capable of things such as breathing fire, and eating metal or glass.

Hyperion's organic parts look very much human, having the appearance of a young man with yellow eyes and messy, black hair. Although his head is not fully organic, as a part of his mechanic body, a long metallic strip, follow his spine all the way up to the neck. The strip of metal can form itself as a spiked "helmet" of sorts, and he also have a deep red crosshair covering his left eye.

Personality:
Hyperion is a calm and intelligent person, who won't lose his head easily. He's relaxed and actually quite likeable.
That said he's not perfect.
Hyperion lack respect for others, and thinks of himself quite highly. It's not to the point that he walks on others because he can, but he's a man of pride, a little too much pride in fact.

But as said, if you befriend him, you'll find he's a pretty nice fellow actually, with respect for those close to (or higher than) him. Others, not so much.

History:
Hyperion grew up with caretakers, who travelled a lot, and therefore he had to join the ride. He learnt quite a lot from his travels, and grew up to be a cunning guy. He eventually joined the Saturnian army, and rose in rank all the way up to sergeant, not only due his intelligence but also due being very capable in combat as a whole.

Other: Blargh

Y'know, I was wondering, could my character be like, a sergeant for the Saturn army or something? Not the leader, but high ranked. That'd be cool.

let me guess, because your Saturn character will have that spot
Onto topic, I'm actually pretty done with my character, if it wasn't for the fact I am utterly stuck on Personality :C

Name: Kramaris Aculand
Age: 23-ish
Gender: Male
Home Domain: Pluto's
Side: Polaris

Appearance: You could hazard a guess that the man is thickly built, but most of Kram's actual body shape is hidden behind a blue-on-white, scaled-leather trench coat; this article of clothing his all sorts of hidden pockets that hold any number of strange things. He has a matching dome-shaped helmet that also obscures much of his rounded face, covering his nose as well. Kramaris' eyes are violet-blue and they seem to glow like a cat's. His pupils are pretty humongous.

The young man's hands are covered in rings, several on each finger; they range from eye-catching to downright hideous, and most have some sort of precious material embedded in them. Kram sounds gruff beyond his apparent age. What little of his bare skin that's visible is traced with intricate, swirling azure tattoos.

Personality: Kram seems to come off as sarcastic a lot, even on the rare occasion of his sincerity. He's given to sudden, but not unfounded, changes of mood; he could be laughing at your jokes one minute but at your throat at the sound of a 'your-mom' insult. Kram isn't without compassion, though; he takes care of his own without a first thought. In this way Kram is quite susceptible to blackmail, as he'll do anything to protect the few he cares about.

Kramaris is a skeptical soul, preferring to mull over new information so long as it doesn't require immediate action. This can be rather irritating, as he could potentially spend hours deciding what to eat for dinner and then promptly decide that he's not hungry.

History: Kramaris has spent much of his semi-adult life traversing the unforgiving tundra of Pluto's domain. When the attack came, Kram reluctantly fled to Terra's domain, and immediately found it to be unsuitable. He's decided to fight, in fact, to get back home as much as anything else.

Other: Kramaris' main weapon is a white-and-blue dagger, but he's rather well-versed in magic as well.
