• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Realism

Valerunner

Probably shouldn't be here.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a bit more realism into the series?

Not the death/strife thing, but take the Pokemon cries for example. Some of the larger Pokemon sound like cosplayers trying to roar. I want them to be more like how Charizard are; less with the traditional name-call and more with the wildlife theme.

It's the reason I stopped watching; the cries were giving me chills and not in a good way. Some suit the Pokemon like Pikachu, Kadabra and Muk but Aggron and Cacnea sound crap.

Aw man, I thought I was going to have to recite the MT3K Mantra. D=
STOP MAKING SO MANY UNNECESSARY REFERENCES TO TV TROPES

seriously, this has been getting on my nerves. a lot.

anyway, no, there shouldn't be realism, Pokemon is a completely unrealistic show and should probably stay that way.

I only want the realism to be with the Pokemon cries atm. Everything else seems fine save for the plot.

STOP MAKING SO MANY UNNECESSARY REFERENCES TO TV TROPES

I guess this would be some sort of meta Pet Peeve Trope?

Anyway, what I'd like to wonder is... how could someone disregard the fantastical elements of the Pokemon franchise and then subsequently say that the creatures don't make realistic sounds?

I admit I haven't watched it continiously in a while, but at a friends we watched that Luxray episode (where it couldn't use any electric attacks). We did laugh and mock the Luxray's cries =/ Certain Pokemon can pull off using their names foremost, but not Luxray. The Growlithes sounded a bit like a halfway house - they used growling noises but you could tell they were using something along the lines of their name when barking to each other about Luxray.
