You could catch a Poliwag and use it to Hypnosis the Bayleef, that'd help a ton.
 
Unfortunately, you can't get Poliwag before Ilex unless you're playing Crystal, to my knowledge.

But the bayleef is much faster and the time I would spend training it could be put into the time I could train my croconaw. And its not available in Gold at that period of time.

Destiny Bond.Wobbufet is a bit too slow to use it, and suicide moves aren't that great ingame.
 
I'm going to start a Water one on Silver right now. I'm not too sure of what my team will end up being but I also don't care too much at the moment.
 
I would play,but as I have already caught Heatran...Eh,I'll trade the pokemon I want to keep to my sis and start over(i was gonna do that anyways so I can migrate >hopefully< again!)

A lot ha happened. I evolved Magda G. before Erika because I forgot, and Resseti evolved. Yeeeup. So anyway, I was being stupid and procrastinating from playing it. Also, I was playing slots. Because I don't waste money n that and I wanted those dang TMs! D<

I beat Giovanni and got the scope, defeated Erika and the Fighting Dojo. Unfortunately Magda G. got all the experience of the Gym leader. Again

Flannery and Norman destroyed! My Spoink and Solrock beat the crap out of Flannery, then Spoink promptly evolved. Her Torkoal didn't even do a single point of damage. >3 Norman fell to my Gardevoir's Psychic+Calm Mind. Dumped Wob, not my fighting style... Going to pick up Natu and Golduck soon. Debating whether or not to evolve my Kadabra and at what level. Suggestions?

It doesn't really matter when you evolve your Kadabra really. Just whenever. The only thing Kadabra gets over Alakazam is Role Play. Replace your ability. And Alakazam gets Calm Mind. Which you have on your Gardevoir.

Edit: Forgot if XD. As to if, it's really up to if you feel like trading.
 
Kadabra needeth no heathen evolution. Thou shalt not tamper with the pure greatness that exists as Kadabra.

Seriously, the only difference apart from stats between the two are that Alakazam gets Calm Mind at Lv33 instead of Kadabra's Role Play. Since this is ingame, you don't need to evolve him unless you want to have Calm Mind on him and someone else.

EDIT: Why replace his ability? Synchronize can be a really useful.
 
Oh, sorry. I didn't mean actually replace it. I was just explaining what Role Play did. I fail at choice of words.

Kadabra IS awesome. He's so important he got a lawsuit about him.
 
I think I'll probably evolve him just before I fight the League, for the boost in Sp.Atk... Plus Alakazam is awesome. :D
