Open The Eight Blades

Halan returns to his full height and glances around at the room before him, seeing others laying on the floor and the sheer oddness of the room. He could make out a large pot of sorts, books lining the walls, and a old man with a long beard and a odd hat. He notes that a young girl was watching him for a short time before looking at a sleeping woman on the floor.

I wonder if she's alright...

Halan walks over to the girl and her friend, kneeling down next to the sleeping form.

"Is she alright...?"

Xhan glanced at the Heartless for a moment. He kicked one, and it only got angry and came after him. His natural reaction- Swing at it. He missed. Fenrir hit the floor hard, sending a shock up his arm. He barely kept his grip tight enough to hold the blade.

But at least the Heartless backed off for now.

Merlin looked up at the large man at the door. Suddenly he remembered what he was here for.

"Hmm? Oh, yes. I have it with me please wait awhile." he said as he turned and went upstairs. Once there, he rummaged around some books and old scrolls from his acual house in Radiant Gardens. He eventually found a large sheath, inside he saw a large sword. As he was turning to go back, he saw the small box that has the Keychains inside. After a minute of thought, he finally picked it up, along with the sword, and looked inside. He saw a intricate metal keychain, a fiery-like one, a paopu fruit like one, a blue gem, and a metal four-pointed star. But something was wrong. Three are missing. And there is only one explanation.

"Blasted that witch and all her kin!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. He stormed down the stairs. He used his wand to give the sword to Darius. He went to the center of the room, catching the attention of Kral.

"Everyone! I have decided to tell you all the reason on why you are here. An evil witch has attained the dreadful powers of darkness and destroyed her world, and took over mine, turning it into her own evil headquarters. And now, she wants to find the seven princesses of Heart, and use them to open the Door to Darkness. If she does, all of your worlds will be destroyed."

Instantly, Kral bolted up, and with a swing of his arm, he exclaimed

"What? How is this even possible? How can one woman do all of this? And, where do we fit into this?"

Immediately, the box glowed. The four-pointed star Keychain glowed and floated toward him. When it went to his hand a it glowed even more intensely. It changed shaped and turned into a giant, old-fashioned key. But different. It was black and mostly white. at where the teeth should be, there is spikes, and the shaft many fancy patterns on it. The handle was checkered, and the hand guard is a black ring, with white spikes on the top. Kral's eyes bugged out at the sight of the Keyblade. Three words popped into his head. But they were back wards, horizontal, diagonal, and written in many languages. But he knew what they said.

"Two Become One..." he whispered.

"That is why you are all called here. To fight the witch and her heartless, and restore peace to the universe!" he proclaimed to everyone in the room in a dramatic voice. Suddenly, three of the other Keychains also glowed, and floated to their respective owners hands.

A keyblade...?

Halan watched as a strange key chain floated to one of the others in the room, a young male, and suddenly changed to that of a blade in his hands. The nodded along with the old one's words of defeating a dark force and saving the princesses with only half a ear, but now be was paying more attention.

Then he saw that one of the key chains from the box floated toward himself. He reached out his hand and snatched the object from the air, taking a step back it transformed into the shape of a key. The handle guard resembled the maw of a large white canine, the power of fire swirling around it. He stares at the blade in a trance, watching the flames around the blade flicker in the air.

"Inferno Dance..."

"....Keyblade?" Vera muttered, as she saw a blade float towards her.

The blade had two hearts on it. The handle had two white wings on it. On the chain, there was a charm that looked like a Paopu fruit. Vera gasped.

"O-Oathkeeper." she said in excitement.

Sheila had been... a bit too shocked to say anything, even to respond to her friend. No, she merely babbled incoherently as the little keychain floated toward her and a... what seemed to be a large key formed in her hand when it reached her.

It was beautiful light blue with dark blue spots along it. Part of the shaft looked like a jackal's head with red markings on it, and there was a black wing at the base near the guard, with a scarf-like thing flowing from behind it. The guard itself had a large tuft of what seemed to be fur at the top, and was shaped like a bright red dragon trying to bite its own tail. The bottom tooth to the key had spikes hanging off of it. It seemed to shimmer a bit in the light.

She didn't know what it was called, but there were words forming in her head now, which she could only assume was the name of this blade.

"...Seraph's Guard. It's beautiful..."

Her dark eyes looked in awe at the strange floating objects, as they went to their owners.

"Wow... It IS pretty..." Now she was staring, along with Sheila, at the... Keyblade she had received. That's what they had called them. She couldn't believe it... so they... they really were real? Immediately, she felt herself fill with excitement. If they were real... and what the old man had said... they have to apparently defeat an evil witch! Just like... Kingdom Hearts. Oooh, she loved the sound of it. Going on an adventure like in the books. Often, she'd have fantasies of it, of having a Keyblade and questing. They were going to save the worlds!

The girl held out her hands expectantly, and yet found no such object like the ones that had floated to the others come to her. What... why was she being singled out?

"Hey... why don't I get one? Where's mine, old man?" Immediately, Atnura turned on Merlin. She was beginning to get that feeling... that she would be the piece that just didn't quite fit in this puzzle.

----
Hmph! Would she have to babysit him... seemed as if he didn't even know how to use it! Well... maybe he'd improve with practice.

Sighing begrudgingly, she summoned several more Heartless. It took a bit of energy to summon these creatures, they had quite some hold of darkness that even a master user like Silydia was not so proficient at.

"You need to practice. Improve your aim. Try stabbing at them." Her voice was rather dull. She wasn't one for patience.

I hope I wake up soon, 'cause this old bag lady is really starting to bug me. But, Xhan shrugged, and did it. Best way to get through with something is to go through with it.

He gripped the Fenrir tightly, and swung at one of the Heartless. He actually hit it this time! He confidently swung at another, and his confidence betrayed him. He dinged the wall, and another shock went up his arm.

Shaking his head, and his arm, he regained his composure. It was just like the times he and his friends had taken some fencing stuff. Just because this thing was a "Keyblade" didn't mean that it was different.

With that thought in mind, Xhan threw himself at the heartless. Somehow, this simple thought seemed to turn Xhan into a totally different person. He was easily slashing through the Heartless, and eventually throwing in a few kicks. He would say in the future that he had never had any trouble, and was so good at the moment that he was also flipping and spinning.

In reality, he was doing good, but looked extremely sloppy.

"Hey... why don't I get one? Where's mine, old man?"

"O dear, it seems that there is one more keychain in here, it appears you are not it's chosen wielder. As you may know, The Keyblade only chooses one with a strong heart. I am sorry..." Merlin replied, heavy with regret.

He stared at the intricate meatl symbol in the box. Where are you?

Hmm.

So apparently, her heart wasn't strong enough for one and yet Sheila's was? She felt a deep feeling of resentment rising within her, coupled with that feeling of alienation she had had earlier. Of course something like this would happen to her. She scoffed for a bit, but then shook it off. Nobody could see her negative emotions.

"Yeah well, it's not like I need one of those anyways. I wouldn't really do well with one of them anyways." She smirked sardonically. "I mean... all they are is giant keys. I'd look absolutely ridiculous with one of those! I've always wanted to use magic anyways. It's much more flashy, just my style. Or you're not going to tell me I can't use magic either because it needs a 'strong heart'?" That last bit seemed to have been rather bitterly mocking, some of her acidic emotions had escaped into it.

----
Silydia watched his progress with interest. Hmm... so he was getting better. This was good! Admittedly, it wasn't... the prettiest thing in the world to watch, but ah, who cared? As long as it worked.

But where were the other Keybladers she had intercepted?

"Hmm, yes..." he responded, stroking his beard. "I think I can teach you magic, although, it will be hard."

Kral, meanwhile was admiring his new blade in many different angles. Despite not wanting to be a hero, he was still fascinated by the blade. He swung in a few times, and even lunged at a few invisible enemies. Suddenly, there was a pulse of dark energy, as a shadows practically materialized into the floor. Kral jumped back at the sight.

"Ummmm, guys? I think we might have a problem..." he said as he got into a sloppy fighting stance.

Vera squeaked, gripping Oathkeeper.

"It's show time!" she yelled, "Those Heartless will be gone soon...."

She rush towards them, Oatheeper slashing.

Darius snatched the sword out of the air. Quickly placing the large sword in a crisscross on his back. He was about to say something when Merlin explained everything.

Well that explains the new faces.

He watched the keyblade avoid the girl. He felt sorry for her. All of her hopes gathered up then crushed right away. Then the shadows appeared on the floor. Naturally his huge arms shot to his swords. Expertly pulling them out and setting them into a twirling motion he shot various slashes and stabs out.

The shadows on the floor lifted, forming into creatures that would live in a child's nightmare. Halan grips the sword in his hand and takes a fighting stance between the girls he spoke to before hand and the creatures that appeared.

"Inferno Dance. Steady."

He waits for the first fool to stumble toward him and the unarmed woman before cleaving them in two with the pure force of the blade. He watched as the heartless squealed in pain, smoke wisping from it's wounds before melting away again.

"There will be more."

Seeing the others fight gave Kral a little courage. He dashed up at them, expertly dodging their claws. All those years in Par Quir are actually paying off. He slashed at one and stabbed at another. He was having so much fun cutting up the Heartless, that he did not notice one of them claw at his right arm, making him screaming in pain and making his right arm useless. Gritting his teeth, he switched hands and continued to fight, finding it easier with his left hand.

Darius began fighting in a suddently different style. Using his massive limbs he began to club at the heartless one in particular drew the short stick. His heel caught it with a powerful sweep kick. At the same time the same heartles was caught by both blades across the body.
Not bad for kids. Not bad at all.

More of these dark beings lift off of the floor, forming and shaping into the small gremlins of the lower ranked Heartless. They weren't the strongest of all the types in the world, but what they lacked in strength, they made up in sheer numbers. Halan growls deep in his throat and grips the hilt of his sword, his knuckles turning white with strain.

"We need to get these bastards out of here before the bigger ones are summoned. Wizard, is there anything you can do to banish these things before they make the call for bigger allies?"

He swings his burning blade at another wave that chose to come toward him and the two women behind him. Cleaving them in two with smoke pouring from their wounds. He glances over his shoulder and sees on of them looming over the sleeping woman, claws extended over her body. He grabs the standing woman and pulls her to his side, swing his blade over the sleeping form to cleave the monster that threatened the sleeping lady.

"They are getting crafty..."
