Closed The Program

Outside, Tem had scampered to a large oak tree a good way away from the classroom-building, and had climbed it. In the tree, the took to examining his bag. Food, water, and a Pokeball, among other things... He picked up the ball and held it in his hands, where it lay, warm and still.

"Guess I should get to know you." He mumbled, and pressed the button.

A bright flash of light signaled the release of a large Empoleon, his blue body scarred and slightly grey-tinged. He was clearly old and battle-worn. He glanced towards Tem and studied the boy for a moment, finally decided that he would do. Tem slid out of the tree and onto the water-type's shoulder.

"Well... Let's go find Tsuki." He said.

"Empo." Empoleon agreed.

Tsuki gets up from the desk and silently walks over to the bags in the corner. She crouches down and scans the bags with her eyes, when a hand rests on her shoulder. She looks up and see Shana smiling down at her, a looking of knowing in her eyes. Tsuki takes a breath and snatches a bag before scampering outside. She looks at her surroundings and tries to figure out where her twin would have gone.

"Lost him already, Water-Baby?"

Tsuki turns and sees Shana strolling over, bag on her shoulder and a easy calm in her eyes. She nods her head and turns back to the forest.

"Yeah...I am."

Shana lets out a sigh and stops by her friend's shoulder, scanning the area as well. Tsuki studies her silently.

"Shana...why are you so calm?"

"Because I know how this will all end up. You're not the only twin on this island...mine will find a way."

With that, Shana takes the girl's hand and pulls her into the woods. Tsuki closes her eyes and lets out a soft cry.

"...Tem...where are you...."

"Arneel 'Backstab' Rogers..." Arneel tensed at this. How did they know the middle name? It was his- Only he and his family knew the name. Could it possibly... No, there was no time for that now. Arneel pushed the thoughts aside and quietly got up from his seat. As he picked up the bag designated to him, he flashed a look towards the one who arranged all of this- A look of pure malice. With a quick pace, Arneel slipped out of the building and into the woods.

For a long time he silently moved alone, and when he was finally satisfied that he had no one on his trail. Arneel stopped. With a cautious eye out he set both his backpack and the little bag on the ground. A lot of his own supplies had been taken, but that was alright; Most of it was for Pokemon care anyway. Arneel dug through the backpack without a sound until he found what he was after- An amount of black fabric padded slighty in a few places. With another check of his surroundings to make sure he was clear, Arneel began to change. The clothes he had been wearing were swapped for the black uniform that clothed his whole body. Instead of shoes he wore padded slippers that would help him move silently, thin black gloves cloaked his hands. Finally he pulled a mask over his head that hid everything but his eyes, and the transformation was complete. With his ninja-yori on, Backstab felt more than ready for whatever would be thrown at him.

After he was dressed, Backstab carefully went through all his supplies, constantly checking his surroundings. Anything that he could not use would be dead weight, and there were care supplies for at least three kinds of Pokemon in the bag he had been assigned. Taking a gamble, Backstab depressed the button on the lone Pokeball. He posistioned himself to where he would block the light from anyone that may approach from behind- Something that was easy to do since the creature that had formed reached up only to around his kneecap. Backstab frowned at the revelation. The creature that had formed was a bird with brown feathers. One wing was used to clutch a large vegetable stalk, which he knew it used as a sword. The Farfetch'd looked as if it was about to make a sound, but as it did Backstab swiftly moved a hand to hold its beak shut. The bird paniced at this and flapped rapidly, while the ninja kept his iron grip. Eventually the avian understood what he meant and calmed down, at which point Backstab released the bird and returned to his task. With the Farfetched as a sentry the ninja could do his sorting more swiftly. None of the care supplies save a bag of seeds was good for bird Pokemon and so he stuffed them into their original bag. Of the small amount of general medicine Backstab kept only a potion, the rest was as well stuffed into the bag. And of the food the ninja kept only that which was light and would not spoil for quite some time. As a result he ended up with a signifigantly lighter load than his competitors, and this would assist in stealth. The ninja set the backpack on his back and gathered the clothes and bag. With a silent signal, Backstab guided the Farfetch in making a few key strokes to his old clothes, and these and the original bag of supplies he scattered around to make it seem as though he had already been taken out of the game to any who came around that part. Backstab recalled the Farfetch'd and slipped into the woods, alert for pursuers and looking for a target.

Vai grabbed her bag and ran out, glaring at anyone slightly close to her. She paused a while away from the building, and picked out the Pokeball.

"Go," she muttered, and looked carefully over her new.. Espeon. It had a good amount of scars, and looked at her almost emotionlessly. It knew what was going on, from the look in its eyes. Was its someone's Pokemon once, someone who died in the Program? Not that it mattered, really.

"Alright, Espeon, you seem to know what to do," she muttered. "Let's kill. Can you see if there's anyone around us.. in a half kilometer radius." It blinked, and closed its eyes.

Raiha groaned for a second, but it wasn't a groan of sadness. It was a sort of happy groan, as he started walking into the forest with the 7 foot tall pokemon.

"Something that can send a truck flying with a single hit... great." Raiha looked over the Hariyama, who seemed to be scarred but a nice guy. "Alright man, here's what we're gonna do. If it's a guy and a pokemon, I take the guy and you take the pokemon. If the guy's two much for me to handle and the pokemon's not a giant monster, we'll switch, kay?"

Cracking his knuckles, Raiha started listening for sounds. Nobody here should have weapons, so his natural speed and power should take care of things.

Minnie dashed into a forest and made sure she was totally surrounded. She was going to make the first kill, she just knew it...

She tossed her Pokeball back and forth in her hands before throwing it to the ground. A majestic, somewhat large, bird-like Pokemon formed out of the red light, revealing itself as an Altaria.

"Hmm, an Altaria? This should be interesting."

The Espeon looked up at Vai, shaking its head.

"No one, alright," she muttered. "You hungry, then? We can't kill if one of us is tired or hungry." The Espeon paused, before shaking its head. "Well, whatever. It'd probably be better if we be prepared for attacks, so tell me if anyone, or anything gets closer. Right."

Vai looked through the food, and lay it back down before looking more closely at her rental Espeon. She'd likely be able to take a few people out with her, hopefully..

Tem and Empoleon lumbered through the forest, the large water-type slicing away branches with his bladed wings, sending them crashing to the ground. The pair was pretty loud, but loud meant big in Tem's mind, so hopefully the other would stay away from him.

"Tsuki?" He called, holding onto Empoleon's tusk for support.

Tsuki's head whips around, her heart jumping into her throat. She grabs Shana's are.

"Did...did you hear that?"

Shana's hand rests on Tsuki's, her other hand sliding into her bag. Her fingers curl around a warm ball at the bottom.

"I did...quite the noise. Be ready to run when I say so. I'm not letting you get mowed down by some whack job. At least not before we find that retard brother of yours."

Tsuki starts to make a remark when she hears her name being called among the noise.

"...Tem?...Tem! Is that you?"

Shana's grip on the poke'ball tightens.

Tem, the boy that Allyana had always admired for some reason was now the sole objective. She waited just outside the exit of the building for him to leave, following behind him once he passed her. He was riding a large flightless bird of some sort, and although she didn't know its exact name she did know it to be powerfull

That's a relief, he should be able to protect himself then.

It wasn't too hard to keep up with the pokemon though, being part of the track team back home and one of the better runners on the cross country. The grass beneath her feet though and the trees around her, those were new. She had always been in her mansion, or at the school track and field. It was true that those places had grass and trees but those were all orderly and human. The trees here were free to grow as they wished and the grass knew nothing of lawnmowers.

Suddenly Tem's pokemon and its trainer stopped, she did as well, darting behind a tree.

As he moved, Backstab saw several competiotors already. He knew most of them would rely soley on their Pokemon, and several of them had already released their creatures and were trying to form bonds. This would be their undoing. As he moved he made a mental checklist of all that he saw. Any Pokemon that he was not confident that he could take out or sneak past he simply made a note of, those that he believed his creature could take he memorized, and those with Pokemon he felt comfortable with fighting himself... Well, if he saw any of those he'd take the opprutunity.

So far though most of his adversaries seemed to have gotten good picks. He had seen the tracks of a large Pokemon of some sort earlier, and he had seen such creatures as Hariyama and the like as he moved. As he stalked on he finally found a target he felt comfortable with- A small child, possessing an Altaria. Backstab thought for a moment, then backed away further into the woods.

To Minnie's left there was suddenly a loud quack, followed by several smaller ones. If she were to turn around she'd see a Farfetch'd standing on its own, in what appeared to be a state of distress. The cause could be easily determined- The onion stalk the species tended to carry around was nowhere to be seen. The duck was frantic in its pleas, begging for assistance.

When Tem heard his sister call out, he directed Empoleon in the direction the call came from, and the water-type barreled though the forest, emerging before Tsuki and Shana, Tem still perched atop him.

"Tsuki! There you are... I was worried." He said, jumping off Empoleon.

Tsuki lets go of Shana and runs over to her brother, wrapping her arms around him as a soft squee leaves her.

"Tem! Oh god...I thought...that if we didn't find you...might have already..."

"As if. Tem is too stubborn to die so quickly"

Shana walks over and places a hand on Tem's shoulder, studying the Empoleon behind him. She clicks her tongue and nods, finding the pokemon to be strong indeed.

Whoever raised him must have been quite the trainer. May their souls rest in piece.

Tsuki then notices the pokemon and clings to Tem tighter, not sure what to do.

"He's...not going to attack us...is he?"

Shana glances at the twins, falling silent.

Only if Tem goes nuts...he wouldn't let the bird attack his sister...But Tem isn't the strongest of mind at times.

Shana then slips her hand in her bag and withdraws the pokeball. She tosses it in her hand lightly before looking over at Tsuki.

"Should we meet our...comrades?"

Tsuki nods and slips her hand in her bag, withdrawing her pokeball as well.

"On the count of thress then...."

Raiha reached down and grabbed two large rocks, motioning for Hariyama to be quiet and get ready.

Hefting them, he hurled one at the tree, where he saw some guy in black sitting, and another one in the direction of a weird quacking noise.

[If you're deep enough in the forest to see Backstab you shouldn't be able to hit the Farfetch'd with any accuracy. Or at all]

He had been sighted. It appeared his first kill would not be his first target.

With reflexes gained from a lifetime of training, Backstab caught the rock aimed for him in one hand and threw it to knock the other stone off course- All without killing the first rock's momentum. They both fell to the ground, leaves absorbing the sounds of their impact. With this out of the way, Backstab silently moved through the trees towards the one who threw the rocks, using the shade to blend in. The ninja purposefully rustled leaves and snapped twigs in such a way as to be confusing. It was hard to tell where he was, if he was approaching or retreating. A confused opponent was one that was easily dispatched.

While he moved through the trees, Backstab removed a low-lying branch from its place. It was jagged where it had once clung to the trunk, and with sufficient force it could serve as a decent weapon. As he began strafing around his target Backstab suddenly switched his tactics- Where once there was a confusing ensemble of noise there was now no sound at all. Eventually he had made it to a point behind the Trainer, and yet out of sight of the Hariyama that lay in wait. All of a sudden Backstab rushed out, branch aimed to stab through the neck. His target would bleed out in seconds, and a hand clamped over the mouth could keep him silent for that long. He just had to make sure that this stab connected.

[It was actually in the general direction of the noise, but it doesn't really matter]

Raiha grinned, before jumping off to the side.

"Gotcha sucker!" Hariyama leapt out from a couple of bushes, having been watching Raiha's back and given him a signal. Hariyama dashed toward Backstab, trying to hit him with an arm thrust, while Raiha came at him from the side, trying to get in range to punch Backstab.

Acuity stopped for a moment to catch her breath. She looked around.

No one else was here, as far as she knew.

Well, now was as good of a time as ever.

She dived into a thick cluster of trees just in case, and took out the Poke Ball again. It felt cool and smooth compared to the rough bark on the trees.

Acuity tossed it once in her hand, then threw it onto the forest floor. Red light came out of it, then began to form into a shape, that eventually stopped glowing and developed colors.

She looked at the purple, large-mouthed bat in front of her.

Well, it wasn't anything she had hoped for, but Golbat weren't that bad.

"Hello," she said to it, figuring she should introduce herself. "What's your name?"

He was silent for a moment, before saying, "It's been so long since I had one specific name that, if I had one, I have forgotten it. The people who use me now, they just give me any name they find suitable. Otherwise, I'm just called Golbat, naturally." His voice had a whispery quality to it, and his accent was strange, one that Acuity couldn't name. It was the kind of voice you'd expect from Count Dracula.

Hey, that was a good name, she realized.

"Dracula," she told him. "It seems like a batty sort of name, don't you think?"

He didn't say anything, but nodded his head.

"Well, er," she said, still unsure of what to do. "Let's go and kick some butt."

She walked off to the east, deciding to keep Dracula out for protection.

Tem squeezed Tsuki, stroking her hair softly. He wondered what she got - would it be strong enough for her to be able to defend herself if he died? He hoped so. He bit his lip, squeezing her tighter. He didn't want to die, but didn't want her to die either.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's see 'em." He said, laughing nervously.

((Holy crap I just reread the President's post and realized I was his target. ^^;)

Minnie had been completely zoned out, at least until she noticed that two people were already fighting. She ran behind a nearby tree, where she could avoid the fighting and the participants' line of sight. She peered out from behind it, watching and silently cheering. She figured she could at least try to take out the winner. If she wanted to, of course.

Both girls nod and toss the their poke'balls out infront of them. With a flash of light, two figures take shape. One of the shapes revealed a scared Combusken with a bandage over her left eye. She turns and studies the three teens before her, then glances at the Empoleon. After a long period of silence, she nods and crosses her arms as she faces Shana.

On the other side of the fighting chicken stood..or rather, floated a green and white pokemon of grace and serentity. The Gardevoir looks at the teens as well, holding her hands to her chest. She focuses on Tsuki and sees her as the one that held her pokeball. She gives the young girl a small bow.

"Well...that's interesting. We have a metal penguin. A Fighting Chicken. And...a Ballet dance that can crush your brain"

Tsuki hugs her brother back, staring at her pokemon in wonder. She knew that her brother's loved one had a Gardevoir, but she never thought that herself would have to use one. She finds this one to be very pretty, un-scarred and sad eyes.

"...Is she knew to the Program...She doesn't have any scars...."
