Leviathan
Bracken Horror
((CAUTION: This RP contains strong violence and language. You have been warned.))
The nature of the human soul - nay, of the entire spiritual process - is one that has baffled scientists for years. Of course, as humans must have a logical explanation for everything, they just threw together some smattering about the alignment of cells in the brain determining basic personality. You see, there is another world separate from Earth, yet the two exist overlapping and connected at points. This is the Underworld, a space from which all souls emerge, taken from the infinite power stored inside and sculpted into shape by the hands of an unknown master. A newborn soul is brought to Earth and animates the body it has been linked to, taking in the energy around it until eventually dying and returning its strength, original and new, back to the Underworld from whence it came.
For millennia, the border between these two worlds had been quite distinct and impassible, until the appearance of a third party, or third world as the case would be. The planet in question, Ryth, was one day created by Kekoru, the god of dreams, in the gap between Earth and the Underworld. The spiritual force of Ryth was almost magnetic, dragging in any traveling souls that were particularly powerful as they passed by in their journey through the ether. Without a predetermined body assigned to them, these souls instead assumed forms more appropriate to their thoughts and desires, far different from the humans and even most animals living on Earth.
While such souls are few and far between, perhaps they are needed now more than ever. The lord of twilight, Aeos, has awoken from his imprisonment within the void to exact revenge on Kekoru and his precious Ryth. You are a spirit refugee, recently passed on from your old life, and now you have been brought to this magical world to fight against the armies of the Underworld.

And now presenting the almighty character sheet
Name: (Your character may have chosen to keep an old name from Earth or one more appropriate to the current situation.)
Age: (self-explanatory)
Gender: (see above)
Personality: (whatever floats your boat)
Appearance: (This part is important; appearance is directly based on the character's personality. While there are few limits and the definition can be twisted around to fit whatever needs you have, try to keep it manageable, especially in regard to the character's size.)
History: (Be sure to include how your character originally died.)
Tactics: (How does your character fight? Remember, however, that he/she isn't familiar with this new body and probably won't understand its more complex functions until having proper training (i.e. just because you have wings doesn't mean you suddenly know how to fly).)
Misc: (Any other aspects that should be mentioned.)
Name: Incarcis
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality: As a child, Incarcis had long been taught about the virtues of justice, honor, and doing what's right (at least by his parents, whom he trusted far more than any school teacher). Perhaps it was this devotion that would lead to his dysfunctional lifestyle in later years. He has come to have an intense hatred for humans in general, despising them for all of the sins they have committed against themselves and the planet they live in, solely to fill their own selfish desires. However, he does not deny that he is human as well, and, subjecting himself to his own mental torture, feels like his mind is trapped within this body as some cruel punishment.
Appearance: Like most traveling souls, Incarcis once existed as a human on Earth. Now, however, the way he looks is completely warped from every single aspect of him in his past life. Once scrawny body and thin limbs have been filled to become more lithe and muscular, coated with fine silvery-grey fur. His head is now completely bestial, a protruding snout leads to a very powerful nose and is filled with hard teeth, topped with long, thin, floppy ears. But above all else are the red eyes, cold, empty, and glossy to the point where you can actually see your reflection in them.
Incarcis wears very little real clothing, covering his waist and the upper portion of his digitigrade legs with a pair of black leather shorts, and fingerless gloves of similar material on his clawed hands. His torso, however, is only hidden by a very, very long length of chain, looping and intertwining around his body and snaking up his arms at times. He carries with him a rather oversized katana, the blade a fair deal longer and wider than normal, kept sheathed in a loop on the right side of his shorts.
History: Incarcis shudders to even think of thinking about his past; it fills him with such revulsion that he feels like every single moment of pain in his life has been relived all at once. The human he once was lived in an immense city, one plagued with a severe crime problem and individuals tainted by this illness residing at every turn.
The first decade-and-a-half of his life was fairly normal, if a bit overly cautious with noticeably more swearing, until a massive arsonist attack incinerated an entire city block, which happened to include the apartment his family lived in. Although they did escape, the events of that day would permanently distort his view of life. He later learned that the men who had burned the building were actually police officers who had been a little too drunk for their own good, but, due to extensive bribery, had managed to get off with a little community service.
The boy Incarcis just didn't understand; people had died, and yet the evildoers weren't punished at all? After a bit of research, he found that many of this city's notorious criminals had been excused from their atrocities for reasons too numerous to count. He came to believe all that humans were ridiculously corrupt, too blinded by their material desires to have any sort of interest in justice. Of course, he himself was human, which would subject him to his own theories, correct. But no, he refused to accept such ideas; he managed to convince himself that this wasn't he who really was, that he was only trapped inside a material body, trapped within this tortuous city.
Although he scraped through the remainder of high school despite newfound insanity, he gave up completely on any education, and holed himself up inside a secluded house with only the minimum requirements for living. Over time, however, his grip on sanity weakened and he spent less and less time outside his sanctuary, until eventually, with no food left to eat and no one left to remember him, he looked out the window and asked himself "Is there reason to remain locked inside any longer?" before finally dying of starvation.
Tactics: Thanks to his heightened senses, particularly those of smell and hearing, Incarcis is able to perceive his surroundings more efficiently than most, and reacts quickly to any threat he is able to notice. His skill with the katana he bears, however much training he's had, tends to vary with his current emotional state; when calm he will act far more defensive, avoiding the opponent's attacks and waiting to abuse whatever advantage he manages to find, but anger will quickly devolve this style into a mad slash-fest. He can also use the chain wrapping around his body as sort of whip or grappling hook, though he prefers to use this solely as a last resort as it takes a long time to remove the metal links without hurting himself and even longer to get them back on again.
