Open Warriors: Rise of The BloodMoon

Stealthstar tried to defend himself, but this cat was far too fast. Any attacked he made was either dodged or canceled by this mysterious cat.

I need to use his speed against him. I have no choice but to use that technique.

He crouched low, preparing himself. He'd created this attack method during a practice battle with his mentor. It was a trick that he'd seen no cat block before. Hopefully it would slow down this enemy enough for Stealthstar to defeat.

He charged at his foe, stopped, and made a slashing motion with his claws. Once the enemy had made a motion to defend himself, Stelathstar would make his move.

The cat fell for the trap; it raised one of its front paws to make a defensive blow. Stealthstar prepared to spin around and deal a devastating kick, but as he made the spinning motions, he saw something that shocked him to his core:

The cat had used its defensive movement as a trap of its own; it whirled around and dealt the same exact kick that would have been dealt to him had he stayed in that defensive stance.

How did he...

Stealthstar didn't seem to be doing too well but Goldenstar held back as did Goldenfeather. The danger was too much, this wasn't their battle.

Goldenstar sent a silent prayer to Starclan.

Stealthstar was sent back by the blow. He knew that he had lost. His best trick had failed to faze this cat; no doubt it would deal the finishing blow now.

Wait! I've got one thing left...

Stealthstar collapsed to the ground, as if he had lost all will to fight. TO the enemy, it would seem as if he was down.

His ruse worked; the cat charged to deal the final blow, but breifly stopped when it was looming over Stealthstar.

"All too easy. Time to end it."

Oh, you're right about that.

Moments before the cat struck, Stealthstar rolled onto his back, and kicked out with all four legs.

This time, he did not miss. The cat was knocked backward, and fell to the ground

((Oh, good, I'm not doing some weirdo thing all by myself.))

Rainpaw looked up. He was tired from his first Gathering, but several flickering shadows caught his interest. It looked like five cats, two of them caught up in an intense fight, and three watching from the sidelines, whispering to each other and watching. One of the fighting cats seemed to be quite stronger and more agile than the other, as he? she? was moving with ease over the other dark shadow.

"Silverpaw," Rainpaw whispered to his now sleeping friend, "Do you see what I see or is it just me?"

Silverpaw lay motionless on the ground, apparently deep asleep.

"Silverpaw..." Rainpaw said in a bit of a whine, tapping her lightly with his paw.

"H-h-huh?" Silverpaw woke up and let out a big yawn. "What, Rainpaw?"

Rainpaw silently pointed to the direction of the cats he had seen fighting, as Silverpaw let out a small gasp.

"It must be a fight!" she whispered excitedly.

"You're right? Wanna go watch?" Rainpaw asked, starting to get up.

"I dunno, maybe we should ask Goldenstar or someone first..."

Rainpaw rolled his bright green eyes, but it went unnoticed in the darkness. "Fine," he muttered, heading toward the leader's den.

Goldenfeather went over to greet Rainpaw.

'Hey, Rainpaw! There's a fight...' Goldenfeather shouted.

'Goldenfeather, come back!' Goldenstar shouted panicky

As Shadepaw approached the river, he noticed two cats that seemed like one giant cat cool, a real fight!

I'm tired of looking at the same boring camp walls. I know, I'll go exploring! It's not like I can sleep, anyway. Maplepaw snuck out through the dirtplace tunnel like any apprentice who doesn't want to be seen, and she headed out into the cool night air. Hmm, where should I go? Maplepaw glanced around. Well, the scents smell strongest towards the ShadowClan border. I'll look over there. When Maplepaw reached the border, she turned towards the lake. Now's probably not the best time to cross the border. Once she was at the lake's edge, Maplepaw noticed something across the water, near the border that seperates ShadowClan and RiverClan. I wonder what's going on? Upon further inspection, she noticed that there were two mysterious figures, and they seemed to be fighting. I wonder if a RiverClan cat crossed the border? Well, both of those cats are putting up a good fight. If those things are a ShadowClan cat and a RiverClan cat, I'd better be careful. I don't want to cross the border on accident. Still, the ThunderClan apprentice couldn't help moving a bit closer to get a better view.

"You've won," The cat said, "I don't have the strength to carry on this battle."

The cat got up. "I hope that you gained something from this battle. That is the only purpose I see in fighting: to gain something not obtained already."

Stealthstar watched as the cat began to walk away. The cat didn't have much endurance, it seemed, and yet...

Its fighting style was something completely unique. It didn't seem to belong to any of the Clans. I wonder if...

"... if we could make an arrangement of some sort."

Maplepaw watched the end of the battle. "Wow," she whispered. I think even I've seen enough action for one night. Besides, after the walk here, I'm tired enough to get some rest. The ginger apprentice padded back to camp, though the dirtplace tunnel and into the apprentices' den.

"Are you sure?" Bluebird asked, padding up to the leader. "We have our Clan." Her blue eyes were wide with confusion.

"I can understand why you would be suspicious," The mysterious cat said, "You have many mouths to feed, you are always defending yourselves from the rivals... one more cat could only make things harder."

"And yet," Stealthstar said, "Your battle methods, your speed... it is... strange."

"Strange, yet it is worthwhile enough that I can defend myself if need be. And I am a very skilled hunter; I've hunted on all sorts of land in o- in my travels."

This cat... he wouldn't want to...

"You wouldn't happen to want to live with our Clan, would you?"

"Not long. Perhaps for... two moons."

"Told ya," Rainpaw muttered to Silverpaw as his mentor informed him. "Can Silverpaw and I go watch?"

"Wait, Rainpaw, look! I think the fight's over..." Silver said, pointing to the two dark shadows that had apparently finished fighting and were now seemingly engaged in conversation.

(("In o- in my travels?"
Something like that *shrug*))

Nettleflight turned to Owlstar. He opened his mouth to say something, but Sparrowpaw dashed up in front of him. "Are we there yet?"

'The fight is over' Goldenstar sighed going over slowly to greet Stealthstar.

Goldenfeather looked at Stealthstar, he seemed fine, just worn out.

"The truce is over," Bluebird reminded Goldenstar with a slight hiss. "I won't hesitate to attack you if you're on our territory." Her claws were calmly unsheathed, and she didn't seem that convincing, although her ears were back.

"Yes, there's the camp." Owlstar led the way down to the base of the hill. "Now, what were you trying to say, Nettleflight?"

Nettleflight looked down slightly. "Some cats at the Gathering seemed to be rather tense as if something was watching them. I felt like that too. Do you think that something's following us?" He turned his head towards the rear of the group but could see nothing except WindClan.

Goldenstar's fur bristled up for a second before she calmed down.

'Fine, I'll go...' Goldenstar meowed before stalking off with Goldenfeather.

Goldenstar swam across the small stream to Riverclan territory.
