• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

The maths section is total bullshit, I ran out of time halfway through going at a reasonable pace. Good job, bro, I'm gonna go sit in the corner with my 29 now :|

I didn't have much of a problem with the pacing on the math per se (I did take issue with the science time limit last time, but then I realized "oh hey you're meant to go at it by section, not question" and didn't have nearly as difficult of a time), but a few of the questions seemed a bit silly and I hadn't even considered their showing up on the test. For example, there was a question where there were four half-circles connected by their flat sides; it gave me the total length of the flat sides and asked for the total length of the round sides. I had no idea what to do there and guessed. :(

I'm pretty sure a decently-read eighth grader could have passed the English test with at least a 20, though. Shit was easy.

It hardly matters. You're given the sum of diameters of four half-circles, obviously the rounded sides are going to equal half the circumference of full circles with those diameters, so the answer is (pi*S)/2, where S is the sum of diameters.
