• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open World's Balance

Vai bit her lower lip. So Ming knew her full name, and what else.. Something to think about later, then. Pyrokinesis.. that was the control of fire, if she was right. She pointed up, and a small flame appeared over her finger.

"Niiice," she whispered. So she was fireproof too, then. Vai grinned, and brought her hand down, before realizing the flame was still there, and nearly burning her pants. She imagined it going out, and it did. Like in a book, Vai thought, and grinned even more. She would have fun with fire powers, dammit.

"Oh, good I've always wanted to break the law! Of gravity..." Jake shouted, after hearing what his power was.
"So... how does this work?"
Jake stared at his feet for several moments, before jumping about three feet higher than normal, then plummeting back to the ground.
"Close..."
Jake jumped up again, this time straining to stay up, like he had an additional "floating muscle". This seemed to work. He hovered several feet off the ground, and then decided to test the limits of this power. He carefully lifted himself higher, he went slow, wobbling a little like when a young boy tries to ride a bike. He found the power grew more difficult to control the higher he got, so he decide a limit of around 8-10 feet was probably good.
"Ok, let's take it down, nice and easy..." Jake successfully lowered to a height of about 2 feet, then lost his balance and fell flat on his face.

"Tele...kinesis?"
Telekinesis was the power Mysti always had in her dreams. Well, before the strange dreams that lead her here. Mysti tried it out by trying to lift her purse off of the floor. It fell back down. "Dangit." Mysti tried again, and imagined the purse floating in the air. When it did, she imagined it flying in her hand. It then landed in her open hand. "Niiiice."

Then Mysti wondered aloud by accident. "If I use telekinesis on myself, can I fly?"

Ming turns back to the group of young humans, letting out a soft sigh. She looks at them silently, as if studing them.

I forgot that the living have so many questions...

"With practise, you can do anythign that your powers limit you to do. If you wish to float with telekinese, then it may happen. But I advise agianst it for now, you might serperate a part of your body in the process. As for you, Emi...all you have to do is imagine your orginal form. But do think of something to wear on your lower half. Either get tyourself a skirt or learn to transform with close on."

It shouldn't be that hard...given that I gave you my own child's power...you might be able to figure it out.

Ming turns her back on the group, folding her wing back under her cloak. She walks into the forest and calls back to them.

"Hurry up. We haven't much time before things start to fall apart around here."

Jake looked thoughtfully at Ming before saying, "Well, I think I can trust you. I have no idea why I should trust you just because you have weird powers. But whatever."
Jake lifted off the ground slowly, crossed his legs, and floated toward Ming as if ready to follow.
"I think I'll float along, I need the practice." Jake said grinning.
