• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed X: The step into other worlds

Unknowingly, Raith had shut his eyes and was nearly falling asleep, when he heard small noises from a nearby room. Hopefully, someone was awake and would liven up the place.

Spirit was struggling to stay awake, and decided to stand again. She strided into the kitchen, where she eyed a coffee maker.
"Noooo Spirit... You know what caffeine does to you..." she groaned. That's when she heard shuffling footsteps from the hallway.
"Good morning..." Darkness muttered, though it sounded like indistinct mumbling.

"Good morning..." Raith muttered, rising up and floating to the door. He opened it up, then shut it almost immediately.
"It must have gone down about 20 degrees out there..."

"Hmhmmhmmmnm..." Darkness moaned, flopping down in a chair. Spirit glanced at her.
"What did you just say?"
"Hrrrmnhmmrmn..."
"Aaaaalrighty then." With that, she continued to flit through the kitchen.

Raith let his halberd fly over to Darkness and bonk her on the head.
"Maybe that'll wake you up." He said, bracing himself, then opening the door and dashing outside.

Darkness flinched, then glared in his direction as he floated out the door.
"Yeah thanks for the head injury..."
"Calm down." Spirit murmured, "Not like he gave you a concussion."
"True..."

As soon as Raith got outside, he felt the rush of cold air brush against his body, and he naturally shivered. Looking up, he searched for the sun, then blinked. It was covered behind clouds, and Raith started to feel damp.
"Rain...?" He muttered, getting back inside and shaking his hair dry.

"So it's raining, huh?" Spirit asked, "Eh, it was cloudy last night, and I could smell it coming, so..."
Darkness was about to ask something, but decided not to and remained silent.

"I didn't even notice." Raith muttered, smoothing his hair out as the rain pounded heavily on the roof.
"It's coming down hard..." he said, glancing out the window.

"Yeah it is. Oh well. A good rainstorm once in a while is OK." Spirit reasoned, "Good for the plants."
"It is." Darkness muttered, staring out the window, "I like watching it too."
Meanwhile, the sound of the rain pounding on the roof caused Zora's eyes to flutter open. She looked less tired than before, but you could still tell she was exhausted.
"Bwuh...?" she muttered quietly, before laying her head back down and shutting her eyes.

"Still. I don't like getting wet." Raith sighed, sitting back down in a chair. "At least I'm awake..."
Rhythm blinked his eyes open, then sighed at the rain pounding on the roof.
"I get no rest around here..." he groaned, sitting up and shaking his head to awaken him.

"That there is a truth." Spirit mumbled. She joined Darkness in staring out the window.
"Still, we're stuck inside all day, as this looks like it could be a while in passing." Darkness sighed.
"So you're up..." Zora moaned. Her eyes were still shut, but she wasn't asleep. The rain was making her stay awake.
"Sorry... Guess I sorta dropped on the floor here and... ugh..."

"I don't mind." Raith said, a flicker of a smile passing across his face, "No sun. I can live with this."
"It's alright..." Rhythm muttered, sighing and standing up.
"You can use the bed if you wish. I'm going to get something to eat..."

"Aye, it's a nice thing once in a while, I agree." Spirit sighed, "Just to have a rainy day when you don't feel like seeing the sun."
"True that." Darkness murmured.
"Nnn... Thank you..." Zora groaned, just barely clambering up onto the bed. She pulled the blanket up over herself and snuggled into it. It still smelled like him. That helped a bit.
"Wake me up when... Acacia decides to get up and make breakfast..." she mumbled before falling back asleep.

Raith blinked as the pounding became louder.
"Is it hailing out there? That's what it sounds like." Raith asked. Then he saw Rhythm come out, hair messy and everything.
"Hello." Raith greeted.
"'Morning. So everyone's still sleeping? I thought I had woken up late."

"Rain still. Might be a little bit of hail though." Darkness reported, having diverted her attention from the window to answer. She then spotted Rhythm.
"Good morning."
"Ah yes, good morning." Spirit muttered. Then she watched her sister shuffle out of the hallway.
"Good morning all..." Starlight moaned.

Rhythm stretched, then sat next to Raith.
"Man, I haven't slept like that in a while..." He muttered.
"I can see that." Raith said, snickering.
"It's raining hard out there. Perfect for a fly."
"You're kidding, right?"
"No, I'm not."

"Oh please don't." Spirit groaned, "They're still out there you know. And I'm not sure any of us wants to go out looking today if something happens to you."
"What're you talking about?" Darkness asked.
"Nothing. Just... nothing."
"Oh alright..."
Starlight literally fell into a chair.
"Insomnia gets to you..."
