Closed X: The step into other worlds

"Do you understand any of this?" Raiquen asked Rhythm. Rhythm simply shook his head, his expression a bit darker than usual.
"I'm going to bed." Rhythm muttered, standing up.
"But you just-" Raiquen trailed off, as Rhythm walked down the hallway.
"He didn't even change into his clothing." Raith muttered, coming out of his silent demeanor.

"It's still morning... And that expression worries me..." Zora muttered.
"Why's he going to bed if it's still early?" Darkness asked after a long silence.
"Well, he did seem tired, and I still am too, I guess... Whoever clothes-swapped us pretty much ruined my sleep... Ah, speaking of which I need a change of clothes and then I'd like to go back to sleep too."
"In the bag."
"Right..." she got up, fished a spare outfit out of the bag (the same as her usual one), and walked off.
"Meh, I don't blame her..." Spirit sighed.

As Rhythm reached his own room, he flopped down onto the bed. Hopefully, he'd gotten away from the others for a bit. For now, he didn't understand why he was feeling the way he was, but it was a tad relaxing. Rhythm decided that he'd just lay here for a bit, and get his clothes back when he felt like it.

Zora, now in her normal clothes, peeked her head out the door to her room and motioned for Darkness. She obliged, standing up and going down the hallway and into the room with her.
"Glad to see you not in such a raunchy outfit."
"Me too. Now then..." Zora then whispered something into her ear. Darkness's eyes widened.
"You what?"
Zora repeated the message.
"You want to ask him to WHAT?"
And again, she repeated it.
"Well, I can't say I'm not surprised to hear it, but you don't need my blessing to ask him something like that. Just ask whenever you're ready."
"I AM ready, that's the thing. But I don't want to bother him right now. But when I do, I want you to act surprised too, OK?"
"... I understand."

After a few minutes, Rhythm sat up. These pants were getting extremely uncomfortable, so he got up, went outside, and dragged Yakko to an empty room. When they both came out, they were in their respectable outfits.
"Ah. Much better." Rhythm muttered, stretching. That was when Melody decided to come out.
"So everyone else is up. Hello."
"You sure slept in, sis." Aidan muttered,
"To be honest, I've been up for a few hours now. There's some good books here."

Zora swallowed hard and walked out of the room, Darkness in tow with a small, satisfied smirk on her face.
"Well. Not gonna go to sleep after all, are you?" Kirita asked.
"Nah." Zora sighed, glancing at Rhythm. He looked better, so it felt like she should ask soon. But would he say yes? She'd slipped the box into her pocket when she'd gone into the bag for her outfit, and she was nervous.

"I didn't see any books." Rhythm muttered, looking askance at Zora as she walked out.
"Maybe because there weren't any in your room." Raiquen replied.
"Eh. Well, that's messed. I don't get anything to read."
"Ha, sucks for you." Melody said.
"What kind of books were they anyway?" Rhythm asked, glaring at Melody.
"An assortment of genre's, actually. Romance, sci-fi, fantasy, all kinds of 'em."
"You lucky person, you."

"Last person I had here insisted I move all the books into the room he was in." Acacia explained, "Guess I forgot to put 'em back."
Zora neglected to reply, instead walking over and standing next to Rhythm. She tried as hard as she could to mask her nervousness. Even though Darkness could tell plainly, but she was her sister and she had been told what was going to happen.

"Mmm. Would have slept better, but that's alright." Rhythm said, turning to Zora. "Hello."
"Wow. Perfect weather, isn't it Aidan?" Melody asked, going up to the window.
"Hell yes. I'm disappointed we came back earlier than the storm." Aidan replied.

Zora glanced askance at Rhythm, exhaling slowly.
He doesn't suspect anything... Oh I'm so nervous...
"Hello..." she replied simply.
"She seems a bit nervous about something..." Spirit whispered to herself.

Rhythm inclined his head questioningly.
"Is there something wrong, Zor? I'm sorry if I hurt you with my display earlier."
"Aidaaaaaan..." Melody whined.
"What?" Aidan asked, standing up.
"I wanna go outside."
"Nobody's stopping you."
"YAY!" With that, Melody opened the door and dashed out into the storm.

Darkness snickered at Melody.
"She's funny. I like her."
"She really is." Spirit agreed.
Zora looked up at Rhythm, then out of nowhere, hugged him tightly.
"No, nothing's wrong... You didn't hurt me, not at all... I actually have a question..."

"She sorta scares me." Raiquen muttered.
"Well, Melody's been hyper like that for her life. She's getting her traits back." Aidan muttered.
Rhythm was caught off-guard, and hugged Zora back with one arm confusedly.
"Um, alright. Ask away..."

"She's adorable." Darkness mused.
"Quite." Spirit agreed.
Zora gulped. It was now or never. Since she'd come out here she'd been thinking of how to phrase it.
"Well, it's a bit serious... But... if I were to ask you to marry me right now, what would you say?"

"Adorable?" Aidan snickered, "I feel bad for whomever she has that crush on."
"I know, really. Sucks for them." Raiquen muttered.
Rhythm blinked. So this is why she was acting strange. He was about to answer, but stopped. Marriage never really crossed his mind.
"I...suppose I'd say yes. Why did you ask? You aren't really going to...?"

"I don't know-wait. Did you say crush?" Darkness asked.
"Ooooh. This I wanna hear about!" Spirit exclaimed.
"Well..." Zora began, "I have been thinking about it a lot, and... well, I want to ask, but I... I was a bit nervous about just coming out and saying it right out of the blue..."

"Well, she SAYS that she has a crush on someone here." Aidan muttered.
"She won't specify other than that it is a male." Raiquen added.
"Oh..." Rhythm mumbled. He was astonished by this. Could he really spend the rest of his life with her? He wasn't quite certain.

"Well, THAT narrows it down." Darkness grumbled.
"Really." Spirit agreed.
Zora stared at him a moment. To tell the truth, she wasn't quite as certain as she would've liked to have been either.
"I'm sorry if I shocked you, but... I don't know why I chose now to ask instead of later... But I just..."

"I know, right?" Aidan muttered.
"She'll cave eventually. I just know it." Raiquen sighed.
Rhythm reached down, grabbed Zora's hand, and held it tenderly. The least he could do was to provide some sort of comfort.
"It's alright, you can wait until you're ready..."
