• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed X: The step into other worlds

Rhythm sat down in a chair, and made himself comfortable. It didn't last for long, as a minute later he got up and walked to the door.
"I'ma head out for a fly. Reim's got my room, and Zor's resting, so not much left to do." Without waiting for an answer, he left the house, closed the door behind him, and launched off into the white snowy sky.

"Alright..." Spirit muttered, taking the drink and sipping it.
"I'm sending someone after him if he's not back in fifteen minutes." Darkness growled, watching him fly off.
"Probably a good idea..." Cyndra agreed.
-----------
Starlight heard a snore on the other side of the door, and figured Hera was asleep. She knocked lightly on the door anyway, just to make sure.
"You alright in there?"
"Go awaaaaaay..."

"If anyone's going, it'll be me." Darkness growled, "No one else, except maybe Spirit if I feel I need her."
"Why meeee...?" Spirit whined.
"Because I said so."
---------------
"Alright then..." Staqrlight muttered, walking out to the main room again. Meanwhile, Hera stood up and stretched, groaning.

"Why? Do you not think....I'm tough enough." Sephii said, pulling her scythe out, "Don't worry guys, I'm not gonna hurt you. But if anyone comes in between us...."

Her scythe swiped the air.

"Yes, I do think you're tough enough." Darkness snapped, "However, I'd rather do this by myself."
"But you just said-" Spirit was cut off.
"Yes I did now shut up."

"It's fine." Darkness muttered, turning to watch out the window again.
Cyndra chuckled to herself.
"Oh, sister sister sister..."
---------------
Just as Hera had finished stretching, she heard a small noise outside the window. She turned to see what it was, but the noise seemed to have stopped. Then she went to turn around again and it started up again. So she walked up to the window and was slammed into the ground by a young man with violet eyes and brown hair who had jumped through it. His bright red jeans were coated in mud and grass stains as were his torn camo t-shirt and leather vest. There were three seemingly healed scars on the side of his face in the shape of a slash from a dragon's claws, and his forearms were covered in tribal tattoos. He grinned as Hera growled at him.
"Jesse, what the hell are yo-" she cut off as a brownish-black, furry paw stuck its way through and a roar was heard.
"Is that a fucking bear?!"
"...Maybe."
Hera shoved him off of her and pounced at a holster hanging by the door. She dashed up to the window with the gun and fired three rounds, and the roaring stopped.

"That was my idiot brother attracting a bear and me shooting it." Hera growled, "Way to make an entrance."
"Sorry." Jesse laughed. He grinned sheepishly at Hera, and she groaned.
"You'll never learn, will you?"
"Probably not."

"Jesse Vendretta. Pleasure to make your acquaintance!" he held out a hand, grinning.
At that moment, Darkness came running down the hall.
"We heard a gunshot and I came to see if you're..." she cut off as she spotted him.
"...Oy."

Opal jumped. What the hell was that sound. It sounded like...oh no. She scattered out of the bed, then thought better of it and grabbed the blanket. Walking down the hall, she put it around her as she entered the room that everyone was crowding around.
"Hoy, what happened? I heard a gun."

((Ohohoho... This is perfect. >:}))

Hera blinked at Opal a moment, quite obviously confused.
"We'll explain later." Darkness muttered.
"Alriiight... Well, simple explanation: my idiot brother attracted a bear, and I shot it."
Jesse, meanwhile, looked up at the raven-haired vixen that had just come in.
"Mercy, look what just walked through that door..." he muttered to himself. He found himself unable to stop staring at her, try as he might.

"Wait wait wait." Opal muttered. She would have raised her arms in confusion if she hadn't been under that blanket.
"A bear? How the hell...never mind." Looking up, she saw Jesse and blinked.
"Dearie, staring is rude."

Darkness blinked at both Hera and Opal.
"A bear...? What...?" that's when she saw Jesse and groaned.
"Oh no. I know that look."
At that moment, he got up, dashed over to her and grinned.
"Mmm, I bet your momma musta been another good-looking honey too..."
Hera leaned over to Darkness and smirked.
"I smell T-R-O-U-B-L-E..." she whispered, causing Darkness to giggle to herself.

Opal blinked in confusion. Then it dawned on her, and she smirked.
"Dude, you're cute, but you're gonna have to try harder than that. I don't fall for just anybody." She leaned past him and blinked at Hera.
"This is your brother? Dear, I feel sorry for you."

"Yeah, try living with him." Hera snickered.
Darkness applauded him, smirking amusedly.
"That had to have been the most pathetic pick-up line I've ever heard."
Jesse just glared at them and snorted. He had more than that. He just had to think of it.

Opal patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't ever try that again, dear." She said, wrapping the blanket around her tightly and walking back to Rhythm's room. As she closed the door behind her, she nearly burst out laughing. Was Hera's brother seriously trying to get her? Not dwelling on it, she collapsed on the bed as soon as Rhythm flew in through the window. Opal sat straight up.
"Don't ever do that again."
