• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Xoxis: Quest for the Blade (OOC + SU's)

Mad MOAI

Actually more of a harmour fan
The land of Sorathem is versatile. Several villages dot the map, each inhabited by several different species. Some of these village are huge castles, and others are complexes of huts scattered about, with market stalls here and there. No matter the type, these towns fare quite well at most times; some citizens train to be warriors, some schoolcreatures, and others move on to have a business in the village. The warriors, once trained, have a duty to guard the community from invaders and hostile outsiders whilst the others go about their calm, daily shopping and learning tasks.

But of course, nothing is peaceful for every second it exists. This is also true with the kingdom of Sorathem. One of the towns on the northernmost side of Sorathem was recently captured by an unknown enemy, simply known as "the Unknown." When confronted by the best warriors, they shut the gates of the citadel and state that they are after something known as a "Sword of Xoxis."

Among the people of Sorathem, there is a legend. It is a great legend of a god-like being named Xoxis. No one knows what he looks like or where he came from, or even exactly where he is, but he is a grand warrior and talented forgesmith. He wields the only two Swords of Xoxis in existence, and is the only creature capable of creating one. The weapon is said to be able to slay any foe, and if anyone tries to take a Sword of Xoxis that isn't rightfully theirs, they will be felled by the same blade during the very next night. However no one knows whether Xoxis himself comes to town to kill them, or the legal assassination is done by the one wielding the sword...

I tell you this between old breaths, young warrior. You must go on a dangerous quest. One like none that has ever been attempted. You must travel far distances and meet Xoxis. Ask him to forge a blade, a Sword of Xoxis. I am confident that it is the only weapon that can even injure the leader of the Unknown, and that trying with anything else is perfectly futile. Only then, when you get the sword from Xoxis, you will succeed...

But the Unknown want the Sword too. Which side will you join?

Whoo. Another mass crossover. You probably know how these work.

Rules
1. No godmoding, etc. You know this one.
2. This is a bit literate. Each post is preferably at least a line / three sentences long.
3. MINOR CUSSING ONLY, PLEASE.
4. The Appearance and Personality sections of the form must be at least three DECENT sentences long. It can be two sentences for canon characters, but it's not a guarantee that everyone knows what your character looks like.
6. Put the word "estark" in your form, but don't make it obvious, please.
5. Rules are open for suggestions.
7. If you are lost, PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN GET YOU BACK IN!
8. At the start of the RP, the ONLY hint we have to Xoxis's location is that he is far north of Sorathem.
9. Three characters at maximum.

Name: Spite

Species: Phantom fencer

Gender: Male

Appearance: Spite is a phantom, so he is invisible. He wears a deep blue cloak and wields a silver longsword. He moves rather fluidly and wind-like.

Personality: Spite died wielding his blade, so he is vengeful and likes to fight. He is also loyal and slightly rebellious, so you have to watch what you say around him. Quick to disagree with things he doesn't think are right, he is adamant and sticks with the plan. This often causes his mind to be a bit closed, and failures occur often.

Series: Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Side: Sorathem

Village: Eira

Other: I will not tell you who Xoxis is... he may either be an apple monster, an estark, or a double-sworded pike, or something else.

Name: Xoxis

Species: ?

Gender: Male

Appearance: Almost no one has seen Xoxis, so no one knows what he looks like. However, some adventurers claim that they have a few details. Some say he has the horns of a bull, the armor of a lizard, and the brawn of a dragon.

Personality: Again, nearly no one has met Xoxis, so no one knows his personality. He is said to be quite irritable, however. Oh, and he is a slight perfectionist, some say...

Series: ?

Side: ?

Village: It is said that he lives somewhere known as Surat, but no creature knows whether it is a plain, mountain, or somewhere else...

Name: Karin Hanazono
Appearance: Karin has light blonde hair, usually pulled back into two pigtails, and bright green eyes. Her customary attire is a blue shirt with puffy white sleeves and a white and black skirt. She's always seen wearing a gold ring; she says it's a memento of her deceased mother, but a select few have been told it has a special power to it.
Series: Kamichama Karin (and the sequel, Chu, I guess)
Side: Sorathem
Village: Humblethim
Other: An estark? What's that? Additionally...er, Karin's ring lets her transform into a goddess. Not a very powerful or smart goddess, but a goddess all the same; would that constitute godmoding?

Also, how many characters are we allowed at max?

I will TAKE that leader spot.

Name: The Fallen
Appearance: See here
Series: Transformers
Side: Unknown.
Village: Malor
Other: Is estark a word in some other language? If transformers isn't allowed I'll change (Though the first post implied that any series could be allowed)

You two are both accepted :D

I will say... three characters max.

An "estark" is a monster from Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It's kinda cool-looking :P

I interpreted this to mean that we can make characters like this, right

Name: Ridley
Appearance: This ferocious creature stands far taller than any man and most other life forms. The dragon's black armorlike hide protects it from most forms of assault, and serve as a defensive measure should he enter high tempreture areas. His great wings serve to carry him wherever he is neede. Stark constrast to his appearence is his intelligence- Ridley is fully capable of devolping complex plans.
Series: Metroid
Side: Unknown
Village: Malor
Other: I challenge exo-raikou for leadership

Accepted. It appears that you couldn't put the secret word in your form, so you had to use another form of it. So you're in. :D

Name: Blackout
Species: Unknown. Some theories point to a Cybertronian more ancient than the Fallen, but nobody knows for sure
Gender: Male
Appearance: He stands about as tall as The Fallen, and is clad in deep grey/black armor. He has multiple arms, at the end of which rest wickedly sharp blades. His legs end in skeletal feet with three sharp talons. He has multiple blades resting flat-side against his back, looking like folded up wings. He wears a black-armored mask, and two crimson eyes are seen gazing out of it
Personality: "Every ruler must have a shadow, a being who watches and waits every moment of the day. At the first sign of weakness, the shadow pounces, defeats the ruler, and assumes the throne for himself. It is a brutal but necessary way to make sure compassion and doubt never enter a ruler's heart." Blackout is The Fallen's shadow, who lies in wait above the ancient Cybertronian, waiting for him to slip up just once. He cares not about the plans, goals, or ambitions of The Fallen. His sole interest is waiting for his leader to show a sign of weakness, so he himself can take control. Every now and again, he will leave the Fallen's side to discipline an unruly servant. Then he returns to his position, waiting and watching, and waiting some more
Series: Ignition
Side: Unknown.
Village: Malor
Other: So estark isn't some word in another language. I want to be clear on that.

One correct, two, accepted.

Actually, for Estark, it is possible that it is a word in another language, but... I don't know.

Name: Lightwing
Species: Belial
Gender: Male (for once)
Appearance: See the link above. If you're too lazy, here's a somewhat poor screenshot of the sprite from the above link:
belial.png

Personality: Lightwing is serious, and always acknowledges the task at hand. His temper is extremely short, so stay on his good side. However, under the unfriendly attitude is a creative spirit, and Lightwing often likes to write in his head and remember the stories he creates. He also invented his catchphrase, which he uses before entering a battle: "If you go out, go out with a bang! Or rather, a -- KABOOM!" On the last word, he would cast the spell Kaboom.
Series: Dragon Quest (Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker)
Side: Sorathem
Village: Neiko
Other: Estark is probably something from myth somewhere, since a lot of Dragon Quest monsters are, but it's also likely that it was made up.
