[OOC/Signup] TF2: Faith & Misery

Yeah it's weird. It's a sort of demeaning, almost sexist term, as I understand it, though my understanding is just from the internet and the friend who went to Germany for a year.

Aw, c'mon. No Heavys? I'll reserve. I was playing this at my friend's house. It's addicting.

Biography:

Name: Tavish
Age: Late 20's to early 30's.
Class: Demoman
Gender: Male
Team: Reliable Excavation Demolition

Appearance:
Tavish, more commonly known under his title Demoman, is a large, black, moustached and very much imposing man. He have black eyes, or rather, a black eye, since he have an eyepatch covering his left eye. In addition to his standard uniform, which is to say, a red shirt with his emblem covered by a bulletproof west, he also wears a wide-rimmed hat with a feather sticking out of the side, held by a flannel band. He also carries a blood-smeared battleaxe, dubbed the Skullcutter, on his back.

One thing that is most peculiar is what appears to be the belt he wears. This belt is actually a Demon, named Soma. The being is mostly just an eye, that occasionally becomes several hundreds of smaller eyes when it blinks. In addition, it is made of thousands, quite possibly MILLIONS of pitch black, spindly, twig-like arms. Individually the arms aren't much longer then toothpicks, but they grab hold of each other, capable of extending great distances. Some of these arms form the rest of the belt, woven into each other around Demoman's waist. The rest of the arms can appear at will.

Personality:
A rather calm person usually, except when he's drunk, and he likes drinking. While usually a rather pleasant and intelligent fellow, the Demoman becomes extremely bipolar when drunk, sobbing loudly one second and yelling madly the next.

On the other hand, even when he's not drunk, certain things can make him really upset. Such certain things include his missing eye, and claiming that he could get hurt doing his job as an Demoman. The latter thing will have him screaming in your face that there is no Demoman better then him.

Biography:
Having worked with explosives all his life, an accident early in his career costed the Demoman Tavish his left eye. After a state of depression and certain amounts of alcoholic beverages, he got back to his job and it fared with grace for several years.

Eventually his luck turned, thought, and he lost his legs this time around. This time around, he was really depressed, not eating, sleeping or even leaving his house for several days. Then, a Demon appeared before him, a small, peculiar creature named Soma. It offered him a chance, a chance to walk once again. He gladly accepted, and soon found that his legs had returned to him. It was at the price of being bound to a war, but his life was at risk all the time anyway, so he could deal with it, he thought.

Other: Creative bio is creative.

Place holder for my Red Sniper.

Name: Jack. Just Jack.
Age: 38
Class: Sniper
Gender: Male
Team: Red

Appearance: He stands at 6'2'', with a left red eye and a purple right eye. He has three scars on his left jaw and cheek, choppy black hair with silver bits through it and a trio of silver earrings in his left ear. He wears his sniper hat at all times, but may take it off now and then on rare occasions. He wears the standard sniper uniform, coloured red of course. Around his neck, he carries a small knife with odd ruins and a white "bonding" on the hilt. His weapons look normal when not in use, but when he uses them the bondings on the weapons will attacked to him, thus the demon's power slips into the weapon and shifting it's shape and form.

On his right ring finger he wears a silver band. If he's spoken for or not is not known. You are free to find out if you like.

Personality: Some would tell you he is easy-going, others as unresponsive. The truth about him is that he simply doesn't care much about anything. He goes with the flow of things, usually keeping to himself and not talking to many people. He prefers to find a nice hideout for his work and never leave unless he has to (Food, coffee, check-ups, ect).

When he entered the pact with the demon, he didn't feel any guilt for making a deal with a dark being in exchange for his sight to be returned to him. He follows through with his deals as if it were breathing. It is something that must be done and fulfilled, so there is no reason to complain about it.

He's not cold, just anti-social at times due to his trait of sitting in a single nest alone.

Biography: Jack used to have his eye sight, his eyes being a nice shade of sea green, but due to a accident while out in the outback, he was attacked leaving the scars on his face and woke in the hospital with his sight gone. As he laid there with gauze over his eyes, feeling the blood seep into the bandages and the heavy knowledge that we will never see again, a voice spoke out to him from the empty hospital room. The voice talked of a deal in which his eyes could be restored to him...along as other powers that will be granted to him. The voice continued on about the benefits, as if trying to convince the man to take up their deal in helping them in the future. As the voice babbled about power, eye sight, a strong life and the chance of a peaceful future with all the riches the voice could bring, Jack only held up his hand in the direction of the voice to hush it. He made it clear to the voice that he didn't need the riches the voice promised, all he would want is his eye sight. He explained that he was willing to surrender his body in order to have his eyes, to see the light of day once more. The voice explained that the man would be doing just that in order to gain eyes. After a pause from the man, he asked the voice what he would have to do on his end of the deal. The voice, sounding desperate this time, explained that he needed a host-body to fight in a upcoming war that will decide the fates of two powerful beings. Jack nodded his head, holding his arms out to his sides, as if welcoming something from above him into a embrace. The voice shifted from it's shadow and placed it's hand on the boy's eye, lighting it's power seep into the man and mend his damaged eyes. Jack tore the bandages from his face and looked at the being that granted him his gift of sight. The figure before him recoiled, as if trying to cover their appearance from the mortal.

Jack only bowed his head, a chuckling softly under his breath at the being and muttering about his previous statement of "surrendering his body to the devils themselves to gain his sight". He opened his arms once more to the crude-looking creature before him and welcomed him into his body.

With the power of the Demon, his sight has returned and made shaper than before. When the power of his eyes are activated, his left eye takes the markings of a bulls-eye scope and zeros in on the opponent. The scope however can only be activated for so long before he starts to get a headache from the visual strain. When ever he uses a weapon, the 'bondings' on it's handle will slip under his skin and fuse to the man, allowing the demon's power to slip into the weapon and infuse his attacks with it's power. When a weapon is powered by the demon, it's appearance changes and is rendered unbreakable by other forces.

Huntsmen = A large bow made of the curved spine of a animal, the arrows made of skeletal bird-like appearance with a "beak" as the arrow head.
Kukuri = Rather normal looking, with a black sharp edge and a faint jagged "teeth" on sharp edge. The Kukuri, when examinees closer, looks to be made from the fang of a large animal.
Sniper Rifle = The barrel of the gun ends in what looks like the gaping mouth of a serpent, the scope looking to sport the eye of a unknown creature as the lens, the trigger a dulled fang of a small feline-like animal, and the handle of the gun looks to be a curled set of claws that are almost talon like in appearance.
Jarate = ....nothing changes. It's piss people.
SMG = The barrel looked like the stretched out neck of a crocodile ending in the gapping jaws of said croc. The trigger is a dulled crocodile fang and the handle is a short limb of a croc ending in the curled claws of the hand.
Razorback = Resembles the shell of a sea tortoise, fixed with a car battery under neath. Though the shock from the shell can be deployed once per battle, the shell itself serves at both a back protective and a handy improv weapon when needing something to beat the brains out of a close attacker.
Tribalman's Shiv = The blade looks to resemble the top part of a dingo's skull, it's fangs serving as the larger serrated edge of the blade.

Other: "Bonding" is like the wraps you see on some blades...except, these are alive and wrap around his arm, the ends slipping into his arm to ensure he doesn't drop his weapon or get it taken from him.

EDIT: Done I guess.

Posting it here.

Name: Andrew Russells
Age: 22
Class: Sniper
Gender: Male
Team: Builders League United

Appearance: Andrew is a fairly lean man, but don't let that fool you into thinking he has no muscle. In fact, his arm is very strong, being able to draw most bows to full draw in a matter of seconds, which many stronger men fail to do. He also fairly tall, but not very imposing or memorable.

Oftentimes, you will see him wearing a blue shirt, with sleeves rolled up, with a brown leather jacket over it. He also wears a traditional Australian outback hat, used to keep the sun off his face. A bow is often slung over his shoulder, and, for reasons unknown, he also carries several jars of his own urine with him. The final piece of this weaponry is a knife made entirely of tropical wood, called a Shiv by it's owner.

His angel takes on the form of a large white falcon, with blue streaks over it's body, the very embodiment of vision.

Personalty: Growing up with a disability has lead Andrew to a very solitary life, always believing in his own ability and nobody else's. Even when he knows he needs help, he'll often deny it at first, stubborning claiming he can do it himself, even when its blindingly (no pun intended) obvious he cannot.

Biography: Born in the remote Australian outback, Andrew has been blind since his very first day of life. His parents, upon discovering their son's disorder, saw no pride or future in him, and simply allowed him to do whatever he pleased.

Andrew on the other hand, has never let his disability get to him. He's always trying to do things that normal people do, hoping one day he can walk out on a street and be part of society and have his handicap be ignored or unnoticeable. The first thing he tried to accomplish without sight, was, strangely enough, archery. Obviously, without the aid of eyes and relying on his other sense his whole life, getting anywhere was no easy feat. But Andrew pushed on. He continuously tried and tried until at last he succeeded. Since then, he has always had a love for archery.

When the falconic angel came to him and requested that he join BLU to fight, in return for even more heightened senses, Andrew saw this as an opportunity to finally put his skill with a bow to use. Recently arriving on the scene, he looks forward to the battle.

Other: He uses the Huntsman, Jarate and Tribalman's Shiv, if that wasn't obvious enough.

Name: ???
Age: ~22
Class: Pyro
Gender: Male
Team: RED

Appearance: The pyro uniform is mostly unnecessary, save the gas mask, since all demonic pyros are more-or-less immune to their flames anyway. Most pyros would not care and would cover themselves neck-to-ankle in bright red, as do the non-demonic flamethrower-users. Pyro's different. He even sometimes takes off his mask! This annoys his demon - there's a whole legend surrounding pyros, and he's ruining it! - but Pyro doesn't care about being a featureless lunatic screaming at and chasing people. It's all about the fire.

And to make sure he's always ready for the fire, his demon is always active in one hand. His entire forearm is twisted, veins bulging like black cables and skin rough and burnt, red at his elbows progressing to charred black and swollen at his wrist. Or rather, where his wrist would be, since he doesn't have one. His hand has been replaced by a head half the size of Pyro's own, but instead snakelike in shape. Flaking burnt flesh gives the appearance of scales, but the rusted iron fangs, glowing orange eyes, and forked scarlet tongue can be no such illusion.

The rest of Pyro's body remains much as it was before the demon bonded with him, except maybe a bit stronger and faster. He leans toward the shorter side of average, and he isn't too sturdily built - a possible reason that he doesn't carry around a flamethrower, although he'd usually say flamethrowers need two hands. He has black hair, near-black eyes, large teeth, and forehead-acne. Also, glasses.

What he wears now could have been stolen from Scout's closet: a red shirt, tan pants, and a belt. He wears pyro boots, though, and pyro gloves hang from his belt, both filled with coal.

Instead of a flamethrower, Pyro carries an axe and a shotgun into battle. The axe sees more use, naturally, since it only needs one hand, but he can manage some awkward shots with his shotgun if necessary.

Personality: PO

Biography: Pyro has always been enamored with fire - he wouldn't have been chosen otherwise - but that's all he really remembers about the time before he met his demon. He had a sister around fifteen years older than him who acted like a mother, and two actual parents who didn't act like much of anything. There are a few details that stand out, like having a dog, enjoying chemistry and art, and burning his house down. (Accidentally, of course. Honest.) He never had particularly good grades, but he doesn't think he got into too much trouble over it. He ended up in the streets at one point. That was probably because his house was burned down. He never saw his family after that.

Pyro's pretty sure he met his demon while grumbling in a train bathroom that a couple of wailing babies really had to shut up. A tiny black dragonthing, who probably could sit on Pyro's palm, emerged from the toilet and offered to make it happen. It was kind of creepy since Pyro was trying to poop at the time, but there was a fire on the dragon's tail and head and wings, which was kind of cool. Pyro would've taken the fire powers he was promised, but he took the shutting up thing as a bonus and also asked for some change for a vending machine or pay phone or something. The dragon split in two and shoved itself through Pyro's palms, setting his hand and forearm on fire. By the time the fire burnt out, his skin was all blackened and melted into each other, his hand almost looking like--AAAA A FACE!

He sort of had to hide it under a jacket and kind of awkwardly did everything with his elbows for a while. It helped that no one was looking - a woman was screaming about some dead baby or another. He eventually learned to change his hands back to normal and spew out flames and stuff, so he turned to arson and camping for a while. Then his demon forced him to help RED, so he did.

Pyro used to run around the battlefield spewing flames and flares in all directions, laughing and eschewing all strategy, or he chased enemies with streams of fire. This was effective against unexpected attacks by snipers or spies... but not so much anyone else. Turns out people can still shoot at him while on fire, or sometimes before, since guns have a greater range than flames do.

Apparently Pyro didn't die when he was killed, but dying kinda hurt most of the time and the demon told him that it'd leave if Pyro didn't smarten up. Pyro had to do odd things like hiding around corners and spewing flames at people who came around them, or wander through halls alone in hopes of catching people unawares before frying them. It was very much worth a sadface, but he got better at repressing the instinct to scream and jump out at people, throwing a double stream of flames. It's been a year since he first started hiding before firing, and by now he thinks he's pretty good at it.

First post updated, and this should be starting up as soon as a few more REDs get their forms in/I stop being a lazyass, so hopefully today/tomorrow, but this weekend at the latest, since I have homework that I should be doing >>;

Name: Henry

Age: 34

Class: Engineer

Gender: Male

Team: RED

Appearance: Engineer is very short, probably around 5’3. His eyes are hidden by a pair of black tinted goggles, which he rarely takes off. His cap is a regular had hat with a miner light attached. He has a bit of a bald spot on the top, and what’s left of his hair is a copper color. Along with the standard uniform (a flannel red shirt, overalls, boots, tool belt and knee protectors) he carries around a sling-like holster, attached to his back for his shotgun. Both of his hands and afflicted by his little demon buddy and are slender and a graying color. His fingertips are ashen with an almost bony wrist , and pulsing veins wrap around his arm and end at the elbow.

Personality: Engy is a very assertive man; if something’s got to be done then it will or else he loses sleep, hence the bags under his eyes. Aside from that, he’s pretty laid-back and helpful when not half asleep/dead. He’s kinda lonely, but wouldn’t really let it show, his machines keep him company anyways. Most of the possessions RED let Henry carry are books, and he reads to pass the time as well. However, underneath all of that is that of an almost mad-scientist persona, and getting to the root of how things happened and replicating them no matter the cost.

Biography: After university, and getting several PhD’s in the process, Henry didn’t really know what to do with his now-spare time. He found the answer in machinery. From the elaborate to the mundane, Henry spent all his time holed up in some apartment, obsessively working. However, there was one prototype for a device that seemed impossible to get right, or at least make without it shooting in random directions and the last time it was tested was not pretty, resulting in Henry’s hand being blown off. In the middle of yet another check-over by calculation, a strange bat appeared out of the blue. Thinking this was probably some hallucination (living on coffee plus heat is not the best of plans) he refused the bat’s strange offer. But it would not let him go, and he caved when it mentioned a restoration of his left hand, with some…modifications. He packed the last of his belonging as is just now wondering how this mercenary thing is going to go.

Other: Hurf, no.

Name: RED HEAVY Vincent Richards
Age: 26
Class: Heavy
Gender: Male
Team: RED

Appearance: Vince is a monster, pure and simple. Nearly all traces of his previous humanity have been rooted out by his demon through a pair of transformations. Now, his form appears as a draconic demon, with insectoid elements. Vince stands at about 9 feet tall and 12 feet long, his rather bulky body covered in armored exoskeleton segments, each one split into a deep-black, thick backside and a reddish underhide. The backside of the 5 thorax segments are fused together into a heavy shell, with two small openings in the top back, where a pair of enormous, dark-red, leathery dragon wings sprout out, which, when fully unraveled, would reach a combined wingspan of over 30 feet. The underhide of the thorax, on the other hand, remains split, including down the front center, and is shaped roughly like a pair of lungs and abdominal muscles, the bottom few enlarged to give the Heavy his traditional husky appearance.

The two 'lung' segments connect on the sides to a pair of large, bulky arms, each also encased in segments of exoskeleton. On each arm, there are two separate arm segments, connected at the elbow by a joint, a 'wrist' segment, two hand segments, and three claws on each hand, with one of the claws representing an opposable thumb on the side of the first hand segment while the others are on the end of the second. In a similar structure to the arms, Vince also has a pair of large, thick legs, the thighs especially thick, like tree trunks, and also with three foot segments and three claws, except instead of thumbs, the top claw on each foot is a smaller 'dewclaw', while the other two are oversized, built to withstand his incredible weight.

Where his 'bottom' used to be, Vince now sports a rather long, segmented tail. It's roughly conical, with 6 roughly foot-long segments, plus an additional 'stinger', pointy tail end. This tail could be used as an additional piercing weapon, and can swing from side to side in a nearly 180 degree circle, its range only limited from the exoskeleton itself, as it's only able to bend at the segment joints. On the other side, Vince's neck has grown considerably since his days as a human, in both length and width, sporting three additional segments above his chest, each one above shrinking slightly in both length and diameter from the one below it. Overall, his posture is bipedal, with his neck and thorax pointing at roughly a 45 degree angle to the vertical, while nearly all of his tail is mostly horizontal. His legs are almost always bent at the knees.

Vince's head has become larger and much longer depthwise. His human features have been replaced with more reptilian shape for the most part, yet, a masklike shell encases most of his head. Two large, red eyes, with very narrow black slits for pupils, stick out of open slots in his 'mask', but because he has no eyelids, his eyes show open all the time, even when sleeping. The outermost membrane of his eyes have hardened into a protective casing, kind of like the outside of a snake's eyes. Vince also has a pair of long, antenna-like horns on the top of his head, extending back several feet, the base of which were just inside a pair of eye ridges, where eyebrows would be. His mouth, though, is possibly the most interesting part of his head. The size is larger than his whole head used to be, before he met the demon now living within him, and it's split into not two, but two distinct sections. There are the upper jaw and lower jaw, each showing numerous razor-sharm teeth, including a pair of large canines on each jaw, the upper ones measuring almost four inches, the entirety of those two fangs showing along each side of the lower jaw, extending even lower than it when his mouth is closed. But in addition to these two jaws, he also sports a pair of movable mandibles, able to help grabbing onto his food with its several toothlike horns attacked to it.

Personality: PO

Biography: Vincent was born to a single mother in a poor, inner city community. His mother, a waitress by day, spent most of her cash on illicit drugs, and saw Vince as a burden, rather than a joy, and so, he grew up on the streets from an early age. The harsh conditions around him consumed him, and by the age of twenty, he was carrying out orders for the local drug lord, anything from dealing to carrying out hits and striking at rivals. His days on the streets, however, came to an end, after robbing and killing an innocent couple of newlyweds, he was surrounded by cops and taken to jail. His crime list was long by then, and he was chosen as a fall guy by his boss, and so it wasn't long before he was convicted and sentenced to death.

While Vince was incarcerated, and awaiting death row, in a maximum-security prison, he was visited by a strange creature. A small draconic whelp, maybe 2 feet long and covered in black, armored segments, with a red underhide, also naturally armored, hovered in front of the man. The natural red glow surrounding this strange beast awakened Vince from his concrete slab of a bed. Vince was given a choice... he could either stay as he was, and die a weak, shattered shadow of a man, or he could become more... given strength and power beyond his wildest dreams.

The demon had chosen its target well... this was a man who had nothing left to lose, who had lost all hope... until it came... but also a man who had already shown a vicious streak. It was a choice that Vince jumped at, his own lust for power and his survival instincts leading the way. And so, he gratefully gave his body to the demon, The creature dove into his stomach and attached itself to his spine, sending toxins through his body, as well as forming a psychic connection with his mind. The pain was excruciating, head to tail, his whole body began to twist and writhe. For what seemed like an eternity, the mutation continued, his body tearing itself up to reform. But it was incomplete... there was only so much mass available. Yet, Vince could feel the rush of power flowing through his body, as well as another emotion overwhelming his mind... hunger.

It wasn't long before one of the prison guards began to walk over to check on Vince, hearing the screaming and commotion. But by the time he arrived, Vince's initial transformation was complete. He tore through the iron gates like butter with his claws, and burst through, leaping out at the guard. The guard, startled by the abomination before him, could only manage to call for backup before he was pinned to the ground, unable to even draw his gun. By the time additional guards arrived, he was merely a scattered pile of bones, blood, and body parts, along with torn pieces of clothing. Vince was nowhere to be seen, but a large hole had been torn completely through the reinforced prison walls. Sirens alerted the facility to a possible escapee, and floodlights began to shine around the perimeter, but the one glimpse of Vince captured was of an unknown figure, flying out toward the horizon. Vince was soon long gone.

His escape was a success, but Vince otherwise was a mess. Initially, he began to capture humans randomly, feasting on their bodies, but his insatiable hunger remained, and forces out to kill him only continued to close in. The bulk obtained from his feasting began to slow him down, and after a close encounter with a military gunship, he knew he couldn't continue hiding much longer. But this was the moment the demon within him was waiting for... the moment Vince learned of RED. Things apparently had already been working behind the scenes, as RED managed to show up the very next day, explaining how they had pulled some strings with their 'friends in high places' to take him, in the name of research. Of course, they had no actual plans for research, but rather to complete his transformation into possibly the greatest weapon in RED's arsenal.

Other: Yay, finally done!

USEFUL: this http://aragul.org/tf2/2fort.html

HUDDA HUDDA HUH it only shows vague outlines of the base -- since it's technically symmetrical it doesn't show both sides. BUT REMEMBER, REDS LIVE IN A BARN

EDIT: OH ALSO QUESTION

Respawn! Are we regarding it as existent here? If so about how long does it take for it to work because I mean it'd suck if you were roleplaying expecting not to see another person for like an hour and then bam they're there, oops. DO I MAKE SENSE IT IS THREE IN THE MORNING.

Ooooh, a good map! Thank you.

And yes, we have respawn, mostly due to the demons/angels. It takes about 5 minutes to completely respawn, though if you die a lot in a small period of time there'd be a good chance of something going wrong.

MG? Pyro's not in the intel room; there's only coal all over the floor, the demonic fire it fuels, and the smoke that'd damage even REDs for painful, scented smokescreen. I probably should've made that more explicit (dammit Kusari stop doing that) but I did mention setting up the coal and then leaving the room to guard somewhere else.

So now that I actually need a concrete location... probably right by the respawn room actually, with Pyro's back facing the respawn room and looking into the room with two halls leading to intel (computer room?).

More importantly Pyro is in the process of being shot, so a friendly conversation is not the way to go if he's in sight.

Reserving BLU Medic. Because no one has applied for that job.

Name: Whatsit Tewya
Age: 35
Class: Medic
Gender: Male
Team: BLU

Appearance: The standard medic gear, along with the Otolaryngologist's mirror and the Physician's Procedure Mask. His angel is a glowing white lump on his back, with its neck extending around his back, slinking under his arm, amd attaching just below Medic's wrist, with a white Lion head forming the barrel of his Kritzkrieg. The angel hooks on to Medic's neck with a thin but strong tendril, turning the area around it glowing white. He keeps an Übersaw in a holster on his belt, and his Syringe gun hin his left hand.

Personality: PO? Still winces at the words Brain Surgurey or anything similar.

Biography: The medic was a highly respected doctor before the pact, and did many complicated surguries. But there was one he just couldn't do. The <Insert head of country name here> of his country was in his town but had an anuerism, a blood bessel exploded in his brain. He needed major brain surgery ((Planned on making it spinal tap but I didn't know what requires that)) immediatley and only the Medic was good enough. But he felt he wasn't good enough. He was nervous and began to feel ill. He went into his staff office and was about to commit suicide due to pressure. But as he raised Syringe to his throat ((It was all he had and ironic.)) a glow appeared in his office. A sweet voice called out in desperation. "NO! Don't!" Medic was confused and asked why, and the voice made a deal, he gives Medic amazing medical skills, a lot more than neccesary to complete the surgery, among other powers, but Medic must fight a battle for him. Medic agreed immediately so he could save the <Insert same name here>, and was a hero, but after the operation, he was to be whisked away to a place unknown to most. The glow soon enveloped him and something grew into his wrist and neck. A new gun appeared to him, one he had never seen, and another hold syringes like he almost took his own life with. Then came a Bonesaw, but the voice said it was a weapon now. 5 years after the pact, after spending every minute after the operation in training, he was ready and recieved upgrades to his wepons.

Other: Weilds Syringe Gun, Kritzkrieg, and Übersaw. I know my Appearence fails, and I probable need a Personality.
